Hey everyone Smile its been a couple of days since i posted and im on my phone so sorry i cant name, but glad to hear everyones keeping well and any problems are being sorted! Had my birthday yesterday, so got very spoilt (baby and me) but had an awful nights sleep last night! Got up for a wee and couldnt get back to sleep for almost two hours! Sad But were going for a 4D scan in about 2 hours Grin im so excited!

Hope everybody is okay and enjoying their bumps Smile

dinkystinky · 25/04/2013 17:04

Happy birthday for yesterday Icing - glad you had a good one. I too had a rubbish nights sleep last night - think its due to ongoing pregnancy hot flushes!

Schro - sounds like a fun couple of days, not! Still hopefully you're all sorted out for now which has to be a relief.

Glad all settled down with you now Shelley - it must be a huge relief. Know what you mean about feeding the baby - its been almost a year and a half since I last bf and I really cant remember much about it at all!
Will try to do some reading on kellymom and look up local bf support groups towards the end of May.

shelley72 · 25/04/2013 17:16

its been less than six months for me so i really have no excuse. but feeding a toddler is much different isnt it, you dont need to think you just kind of do it! i am hoping that it will be one of those things that just comes back to you once you've done it once (or twice) and that the baby is keen too.

happy birthday icing and hope you enjoy the 4d scan. i've never had one. have to let me know what its like!

Hello strangers I've just had to catch up on 6 pages of thread! I hope you're all well, I can't even remember what's been talked about over the last few days so sorry for no names or being at all up to speed on conversation.

icing I hope you had a lovely birthday!! & your 4D scan goes well.

Re baby shopping I have so so much already that I need to sort out when I can be bothered enough clothes to last the first 6 months in a range of sizes however I think what my family are forgetting is when she will fit into the 6-9 month old summer dresses which are oh so cute, it will actually be winter. Hmm Mainly at the moment buying holiday clothes for myself, as I go away in just over a week & have nothing to wear, when we get back though its all baby baby baby, her room will be decorated, cot, wardrobes & other furniture purchased & last few things organised.

My motivation at the moment has gone out the window, have a very bad case of cannot be arsed syndrome!! 27+5

Persuasion · 25/04/2013 18:06

dinky thanks for the update on shiv and baby oliver. I'd been wondering how he was getting on, he's very firmly in out thoughts and prayers.

I had a hospital midwife appointment for my anti-d at 28 weeks, and they did the other checks at the same time (feel for position, heart beat, blood pressure, pee)

Regarding buying things I think we're nearly there. The car seat was delivered to my parents house today, so that's the last thing I think we really need before the baby is born. I haven't washed any clothes or bedding etc yet though, think I'll save that for mat leave. I'm also waiting to buy nappies, breast pads etc until closer to the time. I have my big tub of sudocreme though!

schro did you say peeing on mirrors?? Should I ask why?? I hope all is ok now if you had to spend the day in maternity? And did you find the cat, sounds like you don't need the extra worry!

Mrsross I have intermittent heartburn, but I'm mainly managing with milk and rennies, I HATE gaviscon, it makes me so sick. I have horrific constipation though, no matter how much fruit and fibre I eat. It really is getting glamorous isn't it?

shelley I'm glad everything seems to have settled.

icing - happy birthday! Enjoy your scan, what a lovely birthday present.

I don't really have any news, I'm better from my virus, and just pottering along feeling like a whale! People have started giving up their seats for me on the tube, even without the baby on board badge, it's been 3 days in a row now, I obviously look like I may collapse any minute! I can't imagine how it's going to be by the time I stop work in 6 weeks.

30+1 (Oh.My.God)

icing hope you had a good birthday

dinky we are hoping the caravans will go tonight. Unfortunately this group have been noisier and dirtier in their habits than ones that have been here before. My neighbour had the worst of it when her children saw some of the men going to the toilet on the roadside. She had visitors at the time, who just happened to be police officers. I'm hoping the developer will secure the site properly, but not sure how they'll do that without cutting off our footpath access to the bus stop.

I just have nappies and bottles to think about now.

MrsRoss26 · 25/04/2013 20:23

persuasion ditto the constipation, sadly this seems to be unending for me even though I'm eating FAR too much, and most of that fibre! Glamour? I can't find it! Though I had my hair cut this afternoon for the first time in 9 months (a sign
of of things to come?) and finally I feel vaguely attractive again...

TotallyEggFlipped · 25/04/2013 20:26

Persuasion I'm constipated too, despite loads of fluids & fruit every day. Glad you're getting a seat on the tube. It's great when you reach the stage where you're obviously pregnant and not just a bit fat. Grin

SlouchingPanda · 25/04/2013 20:32

Just checking in. Busy few days at work so have been reading but not posting.

All good here. Went to our first antenatal class this week - they seem like a lovely bunch. I am the last one due from the group so felt very inadequate in the bump department!

The baby moves all the time, and is now jamming up underneath my ribs. Does it really get even bigger?! I'm really feeling limbs and things too, which is rather fun.

29+0 today which feels really late, but as I was reminded today, I could go to 42 weeks which is three months away! Shock

Charlottemerwiak · 25/04/2013 20:48

Persuasion I suffer really badly with heart burn even when not preggers lots of water helps to dilute the acid but milk actually can make it worse although it does feel soothing initially. I steer well clear of dairy when it's bad. Obviously fatty foods and caffeine are meanies too. Peppermint is fantastic in tea or mints though.

I'm finding really hard not to eat sponges and tooth brushes at the moment. Not the washing up sponge but them yummy baby ones for the bath. Grin

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 25/04/2013 20:56

Dinky Yes definitely feeling a lot better now I am more confident.

Persuasion I had to learn to self catheterise as I keep going into urinary retention, they tried to convince me to take a semi permanent bag but I didn't want that so have to do this every 4 hours. When I was being taught today you have a mirror that clips onto the toilet seat and I forgot to aim the catheter down! Que wee all over mirror and bathroom. Blush

We found the cat! She was trapped behind old bits of wood and cot in a bed room in the house, she seemed a bit shaken as she only had a tiny space to move and couldn't get out, had her dinner and a roll around my carpet and seems a lot happier!

Don't rely on rennies, they're rubbish. Try those gaviscon instants, not at all like normal gaviscon. It's a tropical flavoured powder you put on your tongue, they work really well.

Icing Enjoy your scan. :)

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 25/04/2013 20:57

Charlotte It was sponges my best friend craved when pregnant! Turned out she was very anaemic, apparently it's a sign.

Charlottemerwiak · 25/04/2013 21:24

Thanks Schro I'm at docs in the morning ill ask for them to get my bloods checked. Glad I'm not the only one though.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 25/04/2013 21:27

With me it was soap. I found pica to be the most hilarious pregnancy symptom. :)

VinegarDrinker · 25/04/2013 21:31

schro I know I posted already on your other thread, but really glad you have been seen and got a solution, albeit not a very fun one! .

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 25/04/2013 21:37

Vinegar I know you did, the support has been brilliant, thank you. :)

I'm glad too, it worried me before but actually, I feel better about it than I have since DS was born, I don't need to worry about not being able to go and the ones they gave me today are much easier to use, I can do it in seconds now so I am quite happy. :)

Thinkingof4 · 25/04/2013 21:40

icing happy birthday, hope you had a good day

schro hope you are feeling a lot better, I saw your other thread in chat

abzs hope the caravans move on soon, sounds like you had a good weekend with your family

I can't believe how organised all you lot are in buying things for baby. I literally haven't bought a thing yet, and not even sent dh into loft to get baby stuff looked out. We just seem to be so busy every weekend and baby stuff seems pretty far down the to-do list!
Time is passing very quickly at the moment.
30+2

dinkystinky · 25/04/2013 22:39

Evening all. Persuasion, MrsRoss - I get heartburn too. Eating little and often is the only thing that seems to stop it. Huge sympathies to all those with constipation - pregnancy hormones have a lot to answer for!

Abzs hope the caravans move on tonight and the developer sorts things out.

Slouching - glad you have a nice antenatal group.

Am rather fed up this evening - bought secret cinema tickets back in October for this Sunday (and gave some to sister and BIL as xmas presents) only to get an email tonight to say all this weekends screening are cancelled due to licencing issues.given all performances are sold out through June no chance of me going again before Bean arrives. Just hoping I can organise replacement dates for sis and Bil OK.

Sashabella0 · 25/04/2013 22:57

I was meant to be going on Saturday Dinky Hmm

dinkystinky · 25/04/2013 23:02

Bloody annoying isn't it Sashabella?

Sashabella0 · 26/04/2013 01:34

Very annoying Dinky!

IcingTheCake · 26/04/2013 06:32

Thank you so much for the birthday messages guys Smile the 4d scan was just amazing, i would definitely recommend it, and definitely a girl she said! Haha

dinky oh no! Thats so bad! If you called and explained the situation you might get something compensation - like vouchers to spend when you do rebook, not much but better than nothing!

TotallyEggFlipped · 26/04/2013 06:33

Morning all!
Had a terrible nights sleep - DD waking up, me coughing, toothache, general insomnia, but I have my 28 week appointment today and off to that London on Saturday with DH for the night, leaving DD with her grandparents. Smile
