saundy you are definitely not alone on the conflicting feelings about the baby. i swing wildly too and am constantly having to tell myself to buck up and realise how lucky i am.
anyway a bit more real today as we had the scan and everything seems ok. date moved back a few days to 6th november. dh got the midwife to weigh him too as he was curious as to his current weight. muppet!!

MummaPanda · 28/04/2013 12:07

I forget all the technicalities, when does the 2nd tri start? I'm 12 + 3.

Anyone else notice that their bellies are massive and undenyably pregnant looking in the evenings, but disappear in the mornings?

Also cravings have completely flipped from unhealthy crap to fruit fruit fruit fruit FRUUUIIIT!!!!! Am currently chugging a cheaters mango smoothie and destroyed a whole tin of peach slices in less than 5 mins last night. Am going to have to go and buy a load of fruit because at this rate there will be none in the house within the day!

Saundy · 28/04/2013 12:52

Congrats on the scan Surprise did you see anything exciting in there (besides a baby of course), was baby getting up to much? I'd be tempted to have a bottle of lucozade before mine so I can see what it looks like when it is moving about (so mean).

Thanks Fairy I feel much better just for saying it actually.

Mumma according to every book and app I've seen 12 weeks but some people say 14 so I'm not sure.

suprisepitstop · 28/04/2013 13:06

nothing out of the ordinary which was a huge relief, the week of conception we were in australia with my besf mates wedding and lots of other things - so it was two weeks of solid parties and binge drinking. was just happy the baby didnt appear to be waving a wine glass!!

Saundy · 28/04/2013 13:24

Haha yes I can imagine! You could go for one of those fashionable names connected to the conception, maybe Shiraz for a girl Sidney for a boy lol.

suprisepitstop · 28/04/2013 13:29

yes lovely, or sofabed works well as a name for either sex! so many classy names to choose from. chardonnay sofabed marlboro.

Saundy · 28/04/2013 14:03

Yes much more refined than their Lambrini Bath Rollie counterparts Grin

williaminajetfighter · 28/04/2013 16:28

hi guys, I"m 12+3 today and I'm positive I can feel movement. Not lots but definitely movement and not gas. I'm not alone in this, right? :)

honey86 · 28/04/2013 19:00

Just catching up with everybody, been moving house. A friend helped us yesterday and thinks I have food poisoning because I kept having to go and puke.

The bf-ing info is really helpful. I really hope to be able to bf for as long as possible because it's cheap, it's the right temperature, I don't have to boil the kettle or sterilise anything. Thanks for the hand expressing tip!

I have my booking in appointment at last! Actually, I have two at different hospitals as I'm in the middle of moving house. I'm cancelling the one at the hospital that sent me THREE letters for the same appointment. DP can't come with me, but that's ok. I might take my mum to wait with me though as I'm still having nausea and vomiting a lot. It's pretty impressive to puke in between packing boxes. I'm managing to keep food down, but puke at least 3 times a day.

DP is getting really excited, I'm still in the slight disbelief stage and feeling a bit like Saundy. It's so weird there is a tiny baby inside me. This weeks NHS email said it's the size of a strawberry and now I keep visualising something like Penelope Strawberry from The Garden Gang.

Yay for all those hitting the 2nd trimester. I'm 10 weeks on Thursday, a quarter of the way through!

honey86 · 28/04/2013 19:55

i felt something at 11 weeks but im not convinced it was baby... now i dont seem to feel anything, although when i use my doppler n press it against my belly where the heartbeat is, i get a 'prrrrrr' of static where it seems to be kicking at the probe Grin and a little tickle from underneath... but otherwise not much at all. cant wait to get some bigger kicks.

Thanks to those still suffering, hopefully itll settle soon.. my ms varies day to day. one day im nausea free, the next, begging for mercy Blush

Great news about your scan surprise! And Grin at your dh asking to be weighed, that's hilarious!

Well what a waste of a weekend for me. I have just wanted to sleep all weekend but have been trying hard not to. Slept for 2.5 hours yesterday afternoon and didn't get up until lunchtime today though didn't sleep the whole morning (I wish!). Feel so bad for dd, she doesn't seem to mind though and dh played with her quite a bit and took her our yesterday. Feel like I am neglecting her though Hmm as all I have been doing is moaning and sitting miserably with my kindle. I have had zero energy and a pounding headache all weekend.

Ms wise I have felt rough all weekend. Was only sick this morning though felt sick all day. I'm now back in bed with a bowl of coco pops and diet coke - have drank 8 cans of it this weekend (decaf!) and it's making me feel worse but I crave it so badly!!! It's not good for windy pops or heartburn!!

My cravings are still the same - salad, onions, baked potatoes, ice lollies and chocolate (only certain kinds, I am quite specific). Haven't had a chance to indulge them much but plan on stocking up on some spiced onions from the Indian tomorrow - wondering if they will give me a big tub and how long they will keep?! And also wondering how unhealthy they are?

Shopping in tesco yesterday was a nightmare. I felt sick and was so indecisive about everything. We were having a DVD night and it took me a looooong time to pick a packet of crisps and a sweetie! Dh was being very patient which is not like him!

On the plus, yes williamina I feel occasional movements and have for 2 weeks. I didn't believe it could be the baby but I am sure it is now as they are the same feeling every time GrinGrinGrinGrin and it makes me very excited!!!!

Loving the weird baby names. We just conceived in our bed in our house - nothing exciting at all! So no exciting names here!

Dd knows about the baby and is being very cute and shy about it. She has rubbed my tummy and kissed it a few times. Apparently the baby will be sammy if it is a boy and daisy if it is a girl! Very cute Grin

I have a mum-to-be massage voucher which I have been waiting to use. I was given it as a Mother's Day gift but you apparently have to be 12 weeks to use it. Anyone ever had a massage while pregnant before? Is it safe do you think? I am desperate to use it as have has terrible tension in my shoulders and neck all week so think I will call tomorrow and get an appointment Grin

Msfan great that you have now moved - well done you for managing while being sick, that can't have been easy. Hope your getting some well deserved rest now.

Hope everyone is ok - sorry for being such a bloody moan - I felt great all week so I am sure I will waken up tomorrow and feel fantastic again. Seriously though, the fact that I had to get up and go to work probably made me feel better during the week.

riverflow · 28/04/2013 21:42

10 weeks today and just told my mother in law our news. She responded 'about time too' and then brought down a massive box of mini jumpers and cardigans she has been knitting since we got married nearly two years ago. I have forgiven her insensitivity (had 1 MC and infertility tests) cause the wee clothes are so cute! Funny!

Also managed to lose my purse during multiple emergency vomit stops on our journey to the in laws. New cards and driving licence on their way!

riverflow · 28/04/2013 21:45

We are going on a cycle tour in a few weeks and a friend told me not to get too hot, as at this stage body temperature has to be maintained. Anyone know if hot baths are ok? I know spa's are out but what about massages, why is that not ok?

riverflow · 28/04/2013 21:47

haverina just saw your message above we must have been writing about massages at the same time!

MummaPanda · 28/04/2013 21:54

Massages are fine, if laying on your stomach is still comfortable then you can still have massages this way but may want to ask the masseuse to avoid strokes that push on your lower back as this can feel tender, sore and uncomfy on your growing bump. Alternately they have massage chairs so you can have a full back massage sitting up and leaning forwards on it. Although these aren't normally necessary until baby bump is a lot bigger. You could also have the massage more on your side, propped by a wedge pillow or something if you prefer.
I'm qualified in swedish massage and there was a pregnant girl on the course with me so we found out all this stuff Smile

Fairydogmother · 28/04/2013 22:04

Evening ladies

Someone was asking there where the 2nd tri starts - its def 14 weeks I'm afraid! But since I'm in my 14th week I'm claiming my place early lol.

Just back from the hospital as my dad was admitted earlier with heart problems. Felt awful leaving him there but there's no point sitting all night with him when he's stable. He's 83 now and I'm terrified something will happen to him Sad

riverflow · 28/04/2013 22:19

Thanks mummapanda that's really useful, off I pop with the girls for a ladies night in a hotel I think!

harverina · 29/04/2013 02:53

River yes I think that's a good idea!

Mumma thanks for the info that's really helpful to know Grin I'm going to call tomorrow and book it! Yay!

Dd woke up and is now snuggling in to me and I am wide awake! St this time of night aaarrrggghhh!!

Animol · 29/04/2013 10:31

berrybomb · 29/04/2013 11:06

fairy hope your dad is ok

Are there any scanees today? I can't wait to hear more happy stories! Good luck for yours tomorrow Animol

I had a lovely weekend away in the campervan with DP - I felt fine all weekend, and we went for a lovely long walk along the beach. Now Monday is back, I felt shattered again this morning (despite going to bed at 9, and asleep by 9:30), and feel a bit nauseous at my desk. Can't complain too much though, it's much better than a few weeks ago.

I think I'm 14 weeks tomorrow - although I feel like I've cheated a week, and I'm not convinced the Sonographer's measurements were very accurate, so I'm only rally telling myself I'm 13. Not sure why.
