Yay for your good news scan haverina. And nice you get to go back again next week.
Yay for new cars. We bought ours in December so it's still pretty new. And big enough for carseat and plenty of boot space.

I've been feeling a bit better on the sickness front and managing to eat more again. It's just the whole cooking thing that makes me feel sick now. Not the eating.

I've noticed a difference in my belly even though I'm not showing. Ok I'm quite slim anyway but normally I can grab a pinch of fat when stood up but now it's more hard and smooth. It's a bit like how I would imagine it would feel if I did millions of sit ups and had hard muscles. And that's definitely not the case.
Any way sending all positive vibes to you all and good luck with scans

getoffthecoffeetable · 23/04/2013 10:34

Brilliant news on your scan harv very exciting!
It's made me a bit nervous that they haven't been able to do your nuchal fold test though as I don't have my scan until I'm 13+2 so I doubt they'd be able to reschedule one in time!

MummaPanda · 23/04/2013 10:36

Good idea harv I just posted over there, will see if anyone knows anything Smile

harverina · 23/04/2013 11:09

Getoff the same happened when I was pregnant with dd and I got a scan for the following day so you could ask for that or at least in a few days, you will still have time.

harverina · 23/04/2013 11:10

Btw thanks everyone Grin

getoffthecoffeetable · 23/04/2013 11:17

Thank you harv

MissTweed · 23/04/2013 12:34

Getoff... I'm sure that if it was the only chance to do the fold thingy then they would try everything to get baby to move to get the measurements needed. (Its also in the NICE guidelines to offer the test so pretty sure they would have to!)

When I had my scan, to get the nuchual fold measurement I had to....

Empty a little bit of my bladder 4 times!
Drink some more water
Got prodded hard by the scanner
Lift my hips up a vigorously shake from side to side (tried this about 8 times) after 30 mins DH and I were told to go for a walk and they rescanned 40 mins later. (Stubborn baby, must take after DH) but the sonographer got there in the end.

EcoHippyMum · 23/04/2013 12:41

Good news to report here! Scan went well I am 11+6 so I am due the 6th November! So relieved!

EcoHippyMum · 23/04/2013 12:49

Miss Tweed, I had the same!

williaminajetfighter · 23/04/2013 12:49

Hi all, scan also went well. Baby is 49mm so a bit small for 11+5 which is what I'm meant to be today but they said they usually don't change/amend the due date unless it's more than 5 days off. So I'm probably closer to 11... Dear god that might mean another 2 weeks of morning sickness!

Also got nuchal fold and like others a bit of a drama and lots of scanning to work it out. Thought I would pee on the table!! nice.

Properly wierd to see baby face and little hands and feet!!

I get another scan in a week's time thanks to being 'high risk'. Hurrah!

Hope everyone else doing okay. Good to see all the positive scans. Can't wait til everyone is past the 12 week mark....

TiredFeet · 23/04/2013 12:57

Glad to see lots of good scan news today, congratulations all Smile

getoffthecoffeetable · 23/04/2013 12:59

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. misstweed am living the wiggling images!

So pleased that everyone's had positive scan news today. Huge congratulations to you all!

EcoHippyMum · 23/04/2013 13:09

Now just worrying about the NT test, they measured it as 2.6 and said anything under 3.5 is good! But...everything I am seeing on the net says for 12 weeks 2.5 is high!

MissTweed · 23/04/2013 13:21

Eco, I was worried about mine too and the sonographer said that if I was to have it measured the next day it would probably be totally different again. They take an average of 3 and as yours is well under 3.5 I wouldn't worry (I also think that it is generally a bit higher if your in your 30's/40's anyway) are you having the blood test as well?

EcoHippyMum · 23/04/2013 13:24

Yeah I am 39 years young! I just want it all to go well now, after getting this far with all the spotting (and they couldn't find anywhere the bleeding was coming from so I think it much be cervical ectropian).

MissTweed · 23/04/2013 13:31

After spending years of being convinced that I could not have children (eating disorders years ago) I spent the first 12 weeks fretting that something was wrong and looking too much into everything. My friend bought me a pregnancy diary where I am writing notes to my unborn baby to read when they're older.....it made me realise that I should be spending this time glowing and being excited not fretting over the what ifs.... I know its hard not to (I'm a born worrier) but now I'm just chilled and happy (maybe its the hormones lol)

MissTweed · 23/04/2013 13:40

Has anyone started buying baby stuff yet??
I went o a carboot yesterday and bought a Moses basket for £2 (looked up on net and its a £80 one!!! I'll be buying a replacement mattress), also got the cutest wooden rocking horse for £4 and its worth £140! I couldn't believe it when I looked it up when I got home! DH found a babybjorn carrier and some other bits... Worked out we bought £300+ worth of stuff for £12.20! (I'm a little obsessed with car boots, but I'm a carboot snob and only go to posh area ones ha!) but I can't believe how much it would cost if I bought everything brand new! Anyone else buying everything else secondhand? Found it hard looking at all the cute outfits but not knowing the sex yet is really frustrating!

Minesahotchocolate · 23/04/2013 13:49

Yay!! To all the good news from the ladies having scans today :) I've my scan with the nuchal fold business on Monday so have got to be patient a little while longer yet. I didn't have it done last time (we were moving during the key dates) - do you get some sort of a result immediately from the scan itself, or is it a matter of waiting for the bloods to come back before they'll give you a number/the odds?

Minesahotchocolate · 23/04/2013 13:55

MissTweed - that is impressive bargain hunting!
I probably won't buy anything until near the end of the 2nd trimester - that's what I did with my first preg too. I don't like to get too far ahead of myself just in case.

KirjavaTheCat · 23/04/2013 14:03

Back from the scan! All good news, baby is measuring at 12+2 so my due date is now 3rd November.

I have a retroverted uterus so he couldn't get a good look, so had to do the entire scan internally Sad didn't get to see a thing.

However I got a lovely picture of the baby sucking its thumb, and OH assures me it was wonderful Grin

DS behaved himself incredibly well. Scared him a bit when they did the colouring bit of the scan, you know when it goes red and green in some spots... "Mummy, the baby is on fire!"

Feeling so relieved.

Fairydogmother · 23/04/2013 14:06

Fab scans news ladies. Kirjava another one due on 3rd! Yay!

Vvvvv jealous of the good photos people have got - mine are so crap Envy

I've just had a McDonald's and now feel guilty lol but it was so yum!

Fairydogmother · 23/04/2013 14:07

O and what are the coloured bits on a scan?! I never had that done

KirjavaTheCat · 23/04/2013 14:18

No idea! I saw the pictures come up on his assistant's computer though and there were red splotches all over them. Maybe they're measuring bloodflow??

Animol · 23/04/2013 14:22

Great news about all the scans - more please!

Fairydogmother · 23/04/2013 14:27

Prob was blood flow.

We get so bloody little info or actual scanning over here - pisses me off!
