Ariel So sorry to hear your news Flowers

Minesahotchocolate · 22/04/2013 22:11

Good luck to those of you having scans tomorrow.

Can anyone remember when you actually start to feel properly pregnant? I mean, actually be able to feel the firmness of a bump, rather than just feel jellybelly/extra stomach fat! Am having a paranoid moment as my bloatedness seems to have reduced, so my jeans are less tight, which would be a good thing, except with no preg symptoms I'm finding it very hard to believe that there can really be a baby growing in there! I'm now 11+2.

harverina · 22/04/2013 22:18

Mines I want to know the same! I just have a fat belly same as always - cant feel anything hard underneath either Shock

EcoHippyMum · 22/04/2013 22:42

If this is a first pregnancy it can take ages depending on how tall you are, your stomach muscles etc with dd1 I didn't really show till seven months, the tiniest of bumps was there then I kind of exploded, I had put on weight on my bum and breasts though, dd2 I was about six months, dd3 about 12 or so weeks, this one from about 8 or 9 weeks!

Minesahotchocolate · 22/04/2013 23:04

Thanks Eco - sounds like I just need to be patient! With my 1st I def showed before 7 months, prob more like around the 20+ ish week mark (tho I can't really remember). I know I was impatient and it seemed to take ages to get a bump tho. Why I'd think I should feel something already this time at just 11weeks I'm not sure! Maybe my stomach muscles aren't quite as knackered as I'd thought they were after all! I'm really looking fwd to being able to feel the baby move :) (wish I could remember when that happened last time too!).

EcoHippyMum · 23/04/2013 00:06

You should feel it sooner this time maybe by about 16 weeks, some feel it before, some later. X

getoffthecoffeetable · 23/04/2013 01:39

Excellent news on the new job saundy

Happy new car eco

harv I completely agree about motherhood being so rewarding.

Went to bed super early this evening as I was feeling so sick and I've also rather annoyingly managed to pick up a cold from somewhere. DS has just woken up so have tucked him in again poor little soul. He's not feeling too great either - although GP has said he has a virus not chickenpox so that's a relief.

I have no idea why I've suddenly developed morning sickness. Am sipping fat coke.

EcoHippyMum · 23/04/2013 06:52

Good morning ladies! Good luck to everyone having scans today, as predicted I slept like rubbish, less than three hours to go now! Got back ache, I think from sitting too much over the last couple of days doing this dissertation! Hoping I can spread some more positive vibes later! Lots of love x

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 23/04/2013 07:01

Best of luck echo

EcoHippyMum · 23/04/2013 07:31

Thanks WhenShe I think I may need it. My back isn't getting any better, feels a bit like when AF is here.... :/. Then could just be my over active imagination!

KirjavaTheCat · 23/04/2013 07:41

If I poke my belly I can feel that something is different. But I really have to poke. I have a jelly belly.

Scan today, got myself up extra early for some godforsaken reason, I don't leave for ages. What's the word on drinking more? Should I fill my bladder or what?

So excited!!!

Fairydogmother · 23/04/2013 07:44

Good luck today's scanners!

Great news about the job saundy - must be such a relief

My OH has joined the sensible dad to be club and bought a Volvo estate lol. Actually we need it more for the dogs etc but will be so much easier than a 2 door BMW for a baby!

After days of being constipated I woke and had to run to the loo for the other sort instead - sorry tmi! My bowels are causing me much consternation Wink

Fairydogmother · 23/04/2013 07:45

Kirjava take my advice and DO NOT do what I did! Which was to drink a small bottle of water waaayyyy too early and by the time the scan came I was in physical pain! I did that twice ffs!

Have drinks from about 45 mins prior and good luck!

Dizzy81 · 23/04/2013 07:51

Ariel, sorry to hear your news. [flowrrs]

Saundy, yeah to your husband getting a job.

Eco and kirjava, good luck with your scans.

Even dry heaving again this morning, not good. Up half the night feeling sick too. I'm guessing my ms has decided to start now?

getoffthecoffeetable · 23/04/2013 08:20

dizzy I'm also feeling decidedly rough. Almost threw up on the train. I'm not sure whether I'll make the whole day at work today but the thought of the train ride home is already making me feel green!

Good luck to everyone having their scans today. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Finally less than a week until mine which is next Monday!

harverina · 23/04/2013 08:29

On way to scan and very nervous. Feel like I'm on my way to an exam! I did the loo at 7 and drank a glass of water and had cereal with milk at 8. Will probably need water at hospital as my mouth is dry and I feel sick but apart from that not having anything else to drink. When I went for my scan with dd the sonographer sent me to do a pee as my bladder was too full!

Good luck to the others with scans today, wishing you all the best and hoping for good news from all of us Grin

Animol · 23/04/2013 08:36

Good luck everybody with scans today. Thought my ms was almost over but brushing my teeth still makes me dry heave - eurghhh.
One week to go til my scan :)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 23/04/2013 09:02

Best of luck with the scans. Everytime I've been for one I've had a painfully full bladder. Was told to partially empty it a few times. Also I saw a big empty space on the screen and though it was my uterus with no baby inside Sad. But then the sonographer said, well there's your full bladder Smile and Blush

harverina · 23/04/2013 09:16

Scan went well (delighted!!) - dated at 12+2 so due date is 3 November. Baby was lying on its tummy, we could see its heart fluttering away but could not do the nuchal test due the way he/she was lying. So will need to come back next week to try the nuchal test again.

Oh an despite needing to pee my bladder wasn't full enough! They would have sent me out to drink more had the baby been lying the correct way to so the test but because it wasn't its best to come back GrinGrinGrin

Fairydogmother · 23/04/2013 09:17

I'm on a course from work and feeling v sick plus my tummy doesn't feel good. Seriously why is this ill feeling starting after 12 weeks!

I'd better say to the tutor in case I have to run out!

Fairydogmother · 23/04/2013 09:18

Harv fab news and we're both due on the same day!

Well jealous you get another look next week lol

MissTweed · 23/04/2013 09:30

Had a few days off.... So much to catch up on (I'll read later)
So glad to see so much happy new with positive scans Smile
Also sad to see the loss of arial (and any others if I have missed as I haven't read all yetThanks)

Good luck to all those scanning today.....keep the good news flowing Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 23/04/2013 09:31

hav that's great and you get another scan next week. Result.

MummaPanda · 23/04/2013 09:37

Ok so I have a really weird question. This past week I seem to have been developing a very slight allergic reaction to something, I started off with a couple of days of really itchy knees, then my elbows joined in, then wrists and ankles, and now I'm pretty much itchy all over, but not unbearably. I also have a very slight incling of an allergy rash.
I've had quite severe allergic reactions in the past, never found out what caused it, but it always flared up within the hour. Not developing over a week or so.

So my question is this, do you guys think that possibly I am having a boy and am allergic to testosterone?? I realise this sounds weird but according to baby development that's exactly when testosterone starts to develop. And also I've always wondered if I was somehow allergic to dh's semen as I am always very sore and itchy down there for a few days after dtd (sorry tmi)

Do you guys think that is possible?? Sorry for mammoth post!!

harverina · 23/04/2013 10:12

Mumma I'm not sure at all - why don't you post on the allergy board and see of anyone over there knows anything about it?

I am on there a lot and get great advice. Reactions can be slow - most happen within 30 minutes but some can take longer and last a lot longer. I forget what this is called though.

Sorry couldn't be much help.

Waiting to see consultant now, he is taking ages but I am in no rush. Going to work after and don't start till 12....I am also secretly hoping that we will leave here late enough to have lunch!!!
