Eco - so glad the bleeding has stopped. What a relief.

MrsFP - I think everyone feels shit at times. Early PG is crap - between the nausea and worrying and endless fatigue. Catching the vom is a mean feat and you'll be able to tell your DD or DS about it one day and laugh! Honestly!

And about annual reviews, remember there are meant to be 'no surprises' and they are meant to be about setting objectives for the year and personal/professional development. They are not meant to be a shitstorm. Staff are meant to come out of them feeling upbeat and enthused and, if they do get some negative feedback at them, done so in a way to encourage reflection rather than beat people over the head. Honestly the UK has the worst managers ever!! sorry britain!

williaminajetfighter · 18/04/2013 09:37

Quick question- I'm 11 weeks today (incredible!) and having quite a bit of cramping. Anyone else? No spotting at all so have to assume it's stretching? I remember reading that the baby does a real growth spurt between 11 and 13 weeks so maybe that's what I'm feeling?

Any advice appreciated....

EcoHippyMum · 18/04/2013 09:50

Cheese I would go there and get it, wish I had booked it now! Sight better than the £750 others are charging!

getoff I think you are ok as you have had it before.

getoffthecoffeetable · 18/04/2013 09:51

williamina I've had lots of stomach cramps. I'm 11+5 today.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 18/04/2013 09:52

I can't remember who it was but someone said they already know the gender of their baby?? How is that possible?? How do they do it???

EcoHippyMum · 18/04/2013 10:05

Oh Suffolk, really sorry to hear about your Dad and that you are feeling down. Sad Does your midwifery team have anyone trained in this? I know mine does. X

Fairydogmother · 18/04/2013 10:16

thanks everyone - praying that things go ok and i'll have the courage to speak up about the issues that are making me so unhappy in work.

suffolk - thats awful news. fingers xd everything is ok for your dad. you've recognised the signs of feeling down and thats def the most important thing as you'll be able to get the right help early. i suffered with depression and anxiety for a short time after my marriage breakup and i wouldnt wish it on anybody. its truly a struggle. JBrd · 18/04/2013 10:26

Had my scan at the EPU, and it's not good news - no heartbeat and an irregular sac with a fetal pole, measuring only about 6 weeks (should be 8+4). I feel just numb right now.

So I' now saying good-bye to all you lovely ladies, thanks for all the support. I wish you healthy and happy pregnancies! xx

MissTweed · 18/04/2013 10:47

JBrd - so so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself Thanks

MummaPanda · 18/04/2013 11:02

Noooooooo! jbrd I'm soo sorry!!! Big hugs to you! Sad

fairy it is now 11 so I'm thinking of you and sending you big steely balls Smile

SpanishLady · 18/04/2013 11:07

Im sorry Jbrd x

berrybomb · 18/04/2013 11:13

JBrd - I'm so so sorry to hear that, I hope you have lots of support in RL.

Eco - I'm glad you're feeling better today, sounds like you had a bit of a scare.

Dizzy - I totally know what you mean, I had a private scan at 8 + 3 and it feels like forever ago! If i could afford it, I'd be having weekly scans!

MrsFP - you did make me chuckle about vomming in your hands - I'm definitely sure this means you are ready to be a parent!!!

Good luck Fairy at your review - they're never fun, and even worse with a mean boss!

Williamina - I'mm 11 + 3 and been having bad cramps too. I'm hoping its' where everything is stretching and moving.

Suffolk - we are scan buddies - looking forward to Monday!

I think that's it!! I can't keep up! All is ok here I think, just trying not to worry about the scan. The MS and tiredness have definitely decreased this week.

williaminajetfighter · 18/04/2013 11:23

Jbrd that is dreadful news. I'm terribly sorry. It's awful going to a scan hoping for the best and getting bad news. I'm so sorry.

getoffthecoffeetable · 18/04/2013 11:26

Am so sorry for your loss JBrd

gubbinsy · 18/04/2013 11:47

So sorry to hear people's bad news. Thinking of you all.

Finally got my scan date and have to wait till 8 May which seems ages away - will be 13+2 by then.

Feeling pretty crappy the last couple of days - tired and sick and struggling to concentrate. Also grumpy and sad. Must be a joy to be around. Not gone to work today so adding guilt to that as have loads to do but just can't seem to summon up much enthusiasm for anything.

Animol · 18/04/2013 12:01

Oh no jbird what sad news - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss - take care of yourself.

Someone at my DCs school has got Shingles - do I need to worry - we've all had chickenpox - could I do anything about it anyway?

Fairydogmother · 18/04/2013 12:07

Jbrd i'm so sorry to hear that - lots of hugs x

i've had my review and she said absolutely nothing in relation to my performance or how i've done over the year. total rubbish. i actually think she is slightly intimidated by me as i cant understand her at all. i said that things werent being explained to me and i was unable to do my job when i hadnt a clue of what to do. feel a bit better but i could have said tonnes more!

berrybomb · 18/04/2013 12:11

Animol - someone at work is off with shingles, I work quite closely with her. i did some very basic research, and it seems I'll be ok as I didn't touch any of her scabs!!! Luckily I'm not a very touchy feely person, so I wouldn't have made any contact at all, and it's not an air-borne contagion. Hope that helps.

Animol · 18/04/2013 12:23

Thanks berry - I've just been looking up related threads on MN too - seems like you can theoretically catch chickenpox from shingles but I've had it so should be OK and the DCs have had it too - worry over :)

EcoHippyMum · 18/04/2013 12:29

Really sorry to hear your sad news Jbird, take care of yourself and give yourself time xxx

CheeseandGherkins · 18/04/2013 13:42

Jbrd I'm so sorry to hear your sad news.

gubbinsy I feel the same, no energy and my head is pounding plus exhausted and aching all over. I should be 10 weeks on Saturday.

Animol no you can't catch shingles. It's something you just get if you've had chicken pox. Things like stress can bring it on. I believe the virus stays dormant in your body.

CheeseandGherkins · 18/04/2013 13:47

Oh and chicken pox is airborne and extremely contagious. Apparently shingles is also airborne with spreading chicken pox to the non immune.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 18/04/2013 13:53

jbrd I'm so sorry Thanks

fairy glad it went well.

suffolk really sorry about your dad.
