Ha ha. I did my first lol of the day about the Sooty thing. Grin

I think I'm going to have to take that risk MoN, I can't wait another two weeks. I don't know how you've managed it.

Wickedgirl · 15/04/2013 20:37

Good luck smitten......I have my fingers crossed for you. Did they give you any idea how long it takes for the results to comeback?

cazboldy · 15/04/2013 20:51

sorry to hear your news Smitten xx

MoN - you have my admiration..... 5 cs..... the only thing that ever scares me when i am pg is the thought i might need a cs.... especially when ds3 was breech at 27 + wks!

I would have to be put right out - the thought terrifies me!

Smitten1981 · 15/04/2013 20:51

They said 3 days NHS so hopefully it might be sooner private. I can't call them until the morning though to book as I didn't get the news till late this afternoon.

I'm not going to work as I'll probably just cry randomly like I've been doing this afternoon.

They'll all know something is up as DH is the boss so they'd have probably started gossiping when he left suddenly this afternoon. Last of my worries though.

Sorry if I'm clogging up this thread by the way.

OrangeBlossom2 · 15/04/2013 20:55

Not clogging up at all smitten. Talk away. Brew

It is so important to be able to say how your feeling and you can't always in real life about things like this.

legallyblond · 15/04/2013 21:06

Not clogging! Sonetimes it's good to talk here as you can say things on the screen in black and white that you might not be able to say in RL... We're all thinking of you!

Natalieand · 15/04/2013 21:13

Best to let it all out smitten if u let all your thoughts as questions build up in your head you will drive yourself mad! Thinking of u at this difficult time, this thread sure has had it's fair share of bad luck for some of you ladies!!! Did u mean the NHS can do the cvs in 3 days? Or they will do it tommorow but the results take 3 days? Xxx

Smitten1981 · 15/04/2013 21:20

The midwife said that the NHS test would would take three days for the results to come in, but didn't say when she could book us in for the test.

I'm calling the private place tomorrow, hopefully I can get in faster than on the NHS and to be honest I had little faith with my hospital anyway. They've ballsed a few routine things up as it is and I'm not sure I trust them to carry out something so important correctly. They don't have a good rep at the best of times.

Thanks for the nice messages ladies x

Natalieand · 15/04/2013 21:31

Ladies I need your help I'm normally a size 24 and I am having a nightmare of a time getting maternity trousers!!!! I brought some jeans in the next size up to do me for now but they are so big on me they r embarrassing to wear hanging off my legs bum etc! Simply be only have one nice pair of 3/4 lengths but try have every size available 14-32!" With the exception of the size 24 (the size I need) I ordere the 22 too try just incase but they were about snug on my hips! Argh getting majorly stressed about it now!

Also can anyone remind me who our resident dentist is? I have a query :-) xxxx

char1eston · 15/04/2013 21:32

Thinking of you here too smitten and there's no such thing as clogging the thread. Fingers crossed for tomorrow x

OrangeBlossom2 · 15/04/2013 21:44

I think the dentist is called Rachel but I don't remember hearing from her in a while. I hope everything is ok.

Trousers for work if not maternity leggings all the way i am a size 20 and they are so comfy with loads of room what about next?

Shirehobbit · 15/04/2013 21:52

Leggings have been an absolute life saver this last couple of weeks Blush I'll venture into maternity trouser shopping after payday this month.
Ebay has been a rich source of maternity tops, though - my first purchases should arrive before the end of the week.

pinksky · 15/04/2013 22:01

Smitten so sorry that you have had worrying test results. I really hope the private hospital can get you in asap. Don't blame you not going in to work--now is the time to just look after yourself.

Natalieand · 15/04/2013 22:02

falcon my legs r just too wobbly too brave leggings lol. I looked on next as I saw on google they do up to a 22 but all I can seem to find on there is a 20 except in tops but I don't have a problem finding tops. I mean I no size 24 is a big size but surely I'm not the only fat person in the uk to require maternity trousers :-/

Nothing serious orange since my bfp I have had a sore throat non stop some days it's mild other days really severe I saw gp as soon as it started an he prescribed pencillin and said only cash the pre scription in if it worsens and tbh I felt it improved in the few days after so threw pre scription away, but it never actually cleared up went back to gp about 10 days ago and he took swabs of my throat and again pre scribed pencillin and said only cash it in if I ring in the next few days saying the swab is positive anyway the swab is negative but my throat is still really painful so not sure really where to go from here? That's why I thought our resident dentist may be able to help lol. Isit a sore throat a pregnancy thing or isit completely in related? Xx

MotherOfNations · 15/04/2013 22:27

I'm glad my complete ineptitude when it comes to typing on my phone made you smile smitten.
The first couple of days are the hardest. When the tears subside and the shock wears off you get some clarity of thought and things don't seem quite as bad as they first did.

MotherOfNations · 15/04/2013 22:31

Natalie I've seen a website called castaluna.co.UK recommended for mater ity wear in larger sizes also bigbirthas.co.uk.

TheFalconsmistress · 15/04/2013 22:41

Done a wee look around for you found a US website that ships to UK with loads of nice stuff www.motherhood.com Smile

34PinkLadyApple · 15/04/2013 22:42

Marking my place. Sorry to hear your worrying news smitten, sounds like you and dh have a plan. Fingers crossed you get good results.

chickieno1 · 16/04/2013 01:50

Thinking of you Smitten. Hopefully you get CVS sorted soon.

chickieno1 · 16/04/2013 01:55

For those talking about the bugaboo bee I would recommend it. We had one from birth till ds was just over 2. he is quite tall and was always a very long baby so that was the only problem for us. We lived in London and I don't drive so walked everywhere esp when on mat leave. Went on buses, trains the tube no problem. Easy to fold one handed and when ds was little could carry him and buggy up the stairs quite easily. It was expensive but we got a lot of use out of it and sold it for over half the price 2 years later. I don't know what we re going to get this time esp if we have another long baby :)

JellyCurls · 16/04/2013 05:52

smitten I agree with MoN you are in shock just now so give yourself time to absorb the news and def stay away from work. The tears will come and go for the next few days but they will fade. Have you spoken to your midwife about CVS or Amnio? I think it's a standard 48hr wait for initial results whether you go NHS or private.

I am sorry that you are going through this stressful time x

Slippysnow · 16/04/2013 07:47

The scan photo is up now, I think its clear but a few people said they couldn't see it :(

JellyCurls · 16/04/2013 08:13

Slippy I can see it Grin and think its a very clear photo. I am loving all these scan pictures
