That's what I thought, clearly my family aren't as baby minded

34PinkLadyApple · 16/04/2013 08:35

Bit worried. Help. Had a headache for coupla days now and now got hot shivers and i ache all over. Temp is 37.68. Is that high? What do you ladies suggest i do? Wait it out?

JellyCurls · 16/04/2013 08:48

Think temp over 38 is a fever and for kids recommend calling doctor if stays above 38.5.

Not medically trained in anyway but sounds like a viral infection. Take paracetamol go back to bed with plentyof fluids to drink and if still got a temp later today call GP. Hope you feel better soon x

34PinkLadyApple · 16/04/2013 08:51

Thanks jelly. X

pinkbuttons · 16/04/2013 09:07

So sorry to hear your stressful news smitten agree with not going to work today, just look after yourself. really hope your able to organise your CVS and get your answers soon xxx

Sorry your feeling rubbish pink agree with what jelly said, look after yourself, paracetemol should help keep your temp. down as well xx

Lovely photo slippy can definitely see a baby in there Smile

Shootingstarsandcomets · 16/04/2013 09:08

Sounds like a virus pink lady, above advice is perfect. Paracetamol should help bring temp down but it's not very high really.
I start antenatal yoga next week really looking forward to it as didnt do it last time and have been doing baby yoga with ds and enjoyed it so much.
I haven't told work yet I'm being a bit sneaky and have asked to go back early after taking all my holiday for this year so I can qualify for mat pay again. Once I'm into my holiday I'll tell them I'm pregnant and I'll take all of next years holiday before I start my next lot of mat leave which I'll start as early as I can. That way I'll get paid for maternity leave and I won't actually have to go back to the office. I think they will hate me forever. But I've got to do what's right for me haven't I?
Its my birthday today and I've had cake for breakfast!!! Grin

thethreeblondies · 16/04/2013 09:57

Happy birthday ShootingStars can I use your birthday as an excuse for the cake I just bought and ate! Grin

MotherOfNations · 16/04/2013 10:09

Just saw one of the mums from dd's school that I'm friendly with. She went to the loo just before Easter and had a baby boy.
She'd still been having periods all the way through. She'd said to me a few weeks ago that she wanted to start doing some exercise as she felt like she still looked pregnant after her last baby. I thought she looked fine. I'm in shock so God knows how she feels.

MotherOfNations · 16/04/2013 10:11

I just had two cherry scones with chocolate philladelphia in honour of your birthday ShootingStars.

TheFalconsmistress · 16/04/2013 10:19

Omg mon now that would be a shock!! poor woman hope she is taking it in her stride xx

MotherOfNations · 16/04/2013 10:22

She seemed absolutely fine. Even though her youngest is just a year she had thrown out all the baby stuff as she thought her family was complete as she had one of each. Her partner took some convincing that she didn't know the whole time.

TheFalconsmistress · 16/04/2013 10:30

Lol men always suspicious!! How are you today mon?

Happy birthday shootingstars! Smile

MotherOfNations · 16/04/2013 10:44

I'm fine Falcon. I'm feeling more positive everyday. I know that no matter what happens we'll be just fine. I'm just hoping that the amnio doesn't show Edwards or Pateau's because those are the only two where I would have to terminate.

TheFalconsmistress · 16/04/2013 10:48

I have my fingers crossed for you mon xxx

Claphammama · 16/04/2013 11:26

Happy birthday shootingstars! And yes, you need to do what's best for you. And don't worry - they would do the same if it was the other way round... I used to have a big job with my company before having my son. Then, when I was still on maternity leave, they did all they could to push me into a much smaller and less visible job. I believe that my VP who has a stay at home wife doesn't think women should have important jobs once they have children... And I work for "one of the best employees in the UK" apparently. I'm not the only one on our team it happened to. So yes, this is what this experience had taught me - think about your family and your life and do what's best for you. I am very much looking forward to getting my very well deserved maternity pay!!

Claphammama · 16/04/2013 11:35

By the way, I'm 13 weeks today and already showing quite a bit... I think I was like this at 4 months with DS... There is definitely only one there! I asked the sonographer 3 times. How much are you / were you showing at 13 weeks?

Wickedgirl · 16/04/2013 11:45

I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and have quite a big bump already. I have been in maternity clothes for almost 4 weeks as my normal clothes were really tight and made me feel ill.

This is my 4th though so I probably have no stomach muscles left to hold the baby in!

With my first, it took ages for me to show

Claphammama · 16/04/2013 11:52

wow - congrats wickedgirl! 4 is very impressive... boys or girls?

I'm only on my second and have been in maternity clothes since week 8 but I'm quite small and my normal clothes were very fitted so perhaps that's why...

Hope I don't look like a whale by the end! Slightly scared I'm already showing and still have 6 months to go...

Shootingstarsandcomets · 16/04/2013 11:55

Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies feel free to use me as an excuse to indulge!
mon that is crazy what a shock for her! But wow to get through a whole pregnancy and not realise that is pretty amazing!
claphammamma I'm 13 weeks too and bigger than I was with my first, think its normal to be bigger sooner with a second pregnancy because you are already stretched from your first one - nice! I'm not quite into maternity clothes yet but I'm going shopping next week so will get some then. I threw all my last lot out thinking by the time I get pregnant again fashion would have changed entirely- feels a bit déjà vu as I spent last summer pregnant and now this summer too!

NotYoMomma · 16/04/2013 11:59

The sun is shining!
My mood has lifted!

I am in the 2nd trimester as of yesterday!

I'm sure it's a psychological thing, hit 12 weeks and relief ! For me anyway, as the same last time.

Hope you are all well.

MON wow! I know someone who did that too! Mild backache, had a bath, got out and had a baby! She was quite overweight though but had state the same since their first!

pinksky · 16/04/2013 12:06

Happy birthday, shootingstars! I will definitely use it as an excuse to have cake! Think there's some carrot cake knocking about the office...

MoN have been thinking of you, I'm really pleased each day brings greater clarity. Just two more weeks to wait for the amnio? How long after that will you have to wait for results? Been thinking of you too, Smitten

Swimming last night was GREAT. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to float around in the water when I'm as big as a whale. The instructor was great re: the pregnancy and adapted a few things for me. I'm going to ask her about breaststroke next week as I've read conflicting information, lots of places say it's great in pregnancy but then I've also read that it's not good for hips (relaxed ligaments, can overstretch). Anyone got any views on this?

PinkLady I had flu back in Feb and they really couldn't do much for me, so I echo what everyone else says--lots of fluids, and don't be afraid of taking paracetamol. Feel better soon

pinksky · 16/04/2013 12:08

Oh, meant to say I'm 13+1 and have a great pot belly developing but it feels more like bloat than a baby... am enjoying it a lot though--can't wait for it to get bigger Grin

ananikifo · 16/04/2013 12:14

Blush at surprise babies! When I think of all the symptom spotting I did while ttc I can't believe anyone would not know! I wonder how you can keep having periods though?

I'm 13 weeks today. I weighed myself and have lost another 700 g (about 1.5 pounds) in a week. My lower abdomen sticks out a bit but because of my weight loss my clothes are looser. No one has said I look pregnant. I'm hoping I feel better in the second trimester and get to eat more.

Claphammama · 16/04/2013 12:28

Hope you feel better soon ananikifo!

pinsky - looking forward to getting bigger? LOL - must be your first one?

Although I must say I'm looking forward to looking pregnant rather than just fat. Not too keen on this "in between bit"!

SeriousStuff · 16/04/2013 12:33

I don't log in for a couple of days and we're already on page 9 of a new thread! Yikes! Will go back through all your messages now.

My cold is nearly gone, just some coughing left, so that's 16 days it lasted in all! I didn't take anything for it in the end, just made sure I kept eating as drinking as usual.

Can't believe I'm 14+3 today! Thinking back to when I was only 5+2 and how the days seemed to drag. I'm suddenly realising that the next few months will fly by!

I also now have a tummy. It's not huge but it's a very hard, noticeable paunch!

Hope you're all keeping well - we're in the middle of looking for a new house and hoping to be accepted for a rental one any day now...need to move before I get too big to move myself!
