Orange I'm still feeling relieved and just enjoying having life back as normal again. I hope the stress didn't affect the baby too much!

Bad luck on the house flyer, the whole thing is so stressful. The right one will come up for you very soon I'm sure.

Right, I'm off to browse the Asda Baby Event. We have a massive one near us but DH is a snob and refuses to set foot in the place so I may have to pop over alone if I can see anything that catches my eye online.

Also how lovely is the Little Bird collection from Mothercare? Cannot wait till my 20 week scan so I can start buying bits - 6 weeks to go!

Claphammama · 25/04/2013 10:42

Are you going anywhere nice bowlfull? We are also going away for 6 days in early May, without DS who is staying with the grandparents for a few days! Going to Istanbul and very excited - wanted to go there for years! Also hope it will give me energy and motivation to survive the last 4 months at work... very much needed.

I also told DS that soon mummy will be staying at home to look after him and the baby. His response was "mummy, but you have to go to work to earn money... What are we going to do?" Very very practical at the age of 4 (or rather 4 and three quarters as he would correct me)

Claphammama · 25/04/2013 10:44

ps. flyer - sorry about the house. Must be wasn't meant to be! Are you buying in London? It's a nightmare if you are... it took us a year to buy our new house (we moved in last November). No kidding - a full year and three houses that fell through for various reasons... stressful but you will get there eventually!

Natalieand · 25/04/2013 10:57

It's stressful enough trying to rent a property never mind trying to buy! Sorry u didn't get the one u wanted :-( flyer

Dd is off playshool today docs at 11.30 no idea what's wrong with her temp of 39 very lathargic poor baby (2.5 years but still my baby lol)

Sun shining here today always puts you in a good mood doesn it :-)

Who's first to have their 20 week scan from us guys?

roxvox · 25/04/2013 11:24

Sorry to hear that flyer. I try my best to believe that everything happens for a reason, so perhaps this was fate because an even better property will come up for you. Such a b*h though.

Jealous of all of you off on your hols. DH and I keep reminiscing to this time last year when we were on our honeymoon in California.

Natalieand my 20 week scan is on the 14th May, but I know there are a few others before me. I know that Racheld33 has hers on the 10th May for instance. Not sure who else has theirs earlier but sure there were some others. When is yours?

cazboldy how is your dog now?

JellyCurls · 25/04/2013 11:27

flyer sorry about house hope you get something soon.

Pouring here today and just spent 40 mins outside because of a stupid fire alarm. Firemen looked about 12 must mean I am getting old

Major pram dilemma going on. DC1 is 6 and uses a buggy when out and about as has special needs. DC2 will be 2.5 when baby arrives but still needs buggy occasionally and then will have baby.

We have a double but DC1 is too big for it now, think I am destined to never go out with the three of them without company

BowlFullofJelly · 25/04/2013 11:31

Week in Spain in a friends villa Clapham. We had a luuurvley holiday to Cuba in December which was our last hurrah before trying for DC2, so this will be a cheap and cheerful break before I am too big and sweaty to enjoy it Grin.

Love your DS comments - we clearly are clearly raising boys who think Mummy's place is at work!

Roxvox whereabouts in California did you go? We did a road trip as the last big trip before trying for DS, it was awesome.

roxvox · 25/04/2013 11:41

BowlFull we started in San Francisco, then Monterey, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Palm Springs and then Las Vegas. Stayed 2 nights in each town except for SF where we stayed for 3 nights. We hired a Mustang convertible for the trip and it was just amazing! How about you?

BowlFullofJelly · 25/04/2013 12:06

Not too dissimilar - we fly into San Fran, went up to Sonoma County for wine tasting, across to Yosemite, then back over to Monterey, down the coast road, stopped in LA then finished in San Diego. Can't wait to do it again with the DC when they are older!

Jelly your pram dilemma outweighs mine. If DC1 is too big for the double now how do you manage currently? I'm quite up for the sling idea, but have never used one so not sure how we would get on it. We had a baby bjorn with DS but never used it - I found it too cumbersome getting him in and out, and it made my back ache!

roxvox · 25/04/2013 12:15

Sounds lovely BowlFull. We have always said that if we were to go again then we would be sure to try and get over to Yosemite.

I like the idea of a sling, but read somewhere that the Baby Bjorn ones are bad because the legs shouldn't be dangling or something? Does anyone have a sling that they would recommend?

SeriousStuff · 25/04/2013 12:22

I'm very jealous of those of you who have already started feeling your babies move. I really can't wait but fear all the food I'm devouring is restricting this currently.

Also jealous of holiday plans. We're moving house in a month so all holiday plans are on hold until 2030...!

I'm in bowel hell at the moment, had a bout of diarrhoea 2 nights ago, and now it's constipation - I'm hungry but scared to eat anything in case it just adds to the blockage!

Natalieand · 25/04/2013 12:26

Wow you guys have exciting holidays I'm jealous lol. Dh I and dd want to Spain with my mum da brother 2x sisters 2x BIl and 2 nieces and nephew and that was nice but were just having a weekend 3 night break too a haven site in June so the little break should be nice :-)

roxvox mine isn't until may 24th :-0 but I've booked a gender scan for next Wednesday may 1st x

TheFalconsmistress · 25/04/2013 12:35

NATALIE it could be slapped cheek as it is going around atm. Everyones fancy holidays sound fab we are going to butlins lol Grin

JellyCurls · 25/04/2013 12:37

bowlful if out alone I take the SN buggy as then dd is in it and if ds gets tired she will budge up and they share or he sits on her knee or if she is having a good day she will get out and let him have a seat, very nice kids some of the time.

roxvox · 25/04/2013 12:40

Natalieand is that one of those Sun newspaper deals? We did that in March and went on a mini break to the Lake District. It really felt like we were somewhere thousands of miles away and was lovely. That's exciting about your gender scan! I will have my fingers crossed for you that baby is forthcoming with his/her position so they can tell you!

SeriousStuff I am exactly the same. Super jealous of anyone feeling movements. I am trying not to worry about not being able to feel anything, but every day that passes just adds to the worry. I have also been getting days of diarrhoea followed by days of blockage where everything I eat seems to just be piling up on top of everything else in there. Also, somedays I can't do my jeans up and I think 'yay, progress!' and then a couple of days later I will be able to do them up fine because I will have de-bloated in that time.

I just want to have my 20 week scan now, be told everything is fine, only be comfortable in maternity clothes, and be kicked regularly by the little baby that is growing inside of me Smile (can you tell this is my first?!)

BowlFullofJelly · 25/04/2013 12:41

I wanted to go somewhere in the UK Natalie and Falcon - but actually worked out cheaper to go to Spain as accommodation is free.

Won't be long Serious - think I am a week or so in front of you, and on DC2 and this last few days the flutters and tickles have turned to kicks and squirming - am sat here now holding my belly feeling him baby wiggle around Grin

20 week scan is May 16th for me - was tempted by a sexing scan, but decided to hold out. I'm sure someone mentioned 6th May for theirs, but can't remember who it was....

BowlFullofJelly · 25/04/2013 12:44

Ahh they sound lovely Jelly. Do you think you could try a sling for DC3? I don't know anything about SN buggy's - can you adapt to add buggy boards and stuff?

thethreeblondies · 25/04/2013 12:58

Falcon I'll be dreaming of being of butlins in a nice bed when I'm in a tent on an air bed at the end of may!

DH introduced me to the joys of camping a few years ago and while it's nice to get away and we have found a lovely picturesque site I'm a bit dubious of getting comfy this time! I also managed to get a sun holiday for Aug BH wkend, at a caravan park in Devon x

TheFalconsmistress · 25/04/2013 13:43

comfy camping whilst pregnant is something that crossed my mind the threeblondies but it would have been what we would be doing had DH not got work butlins is a fair bit expensive 900 for a week but that is breakfast lunch tea all entertainment and DS who is four thinks its amazing and is incredibly happy which is the main thing for me :) We are not away till DS 5th birthday in feb though. I am supposed to be going to the inlaws in AUG with a trip to peppa pig world but me and the in laws are not really friends although we do a good job of pretending now, therefore i am not classing that as a holiday at all!

Flyer747 · 25/04/2013 13:43

No claphammama we are buying in Liverpool but like London the decent properties in the good areas get snapped up! We own our place but with my 5 suitcases, 2 wardrobes of clothes and crap we need somewhere bigger....we aren't selling our house we are renting it out and buying a bigger place, so no chain, I'm sure we will get the perfect place soon! Its just disheartning when you find somewhere you love then lose it...Thanks Ladies felt down about it yesterday! :-) x

I hope you have a lovely holiday Bowlful it will be lovely to get some sun on ya bones and leave this English cold behind

SeriousStuff · 25/04/2013 13:51

Bowl that's so sweet...I can feel the 4 chocolate Hobnobs I've just inhaled!

rox glad it's not just me! Yesterday my bump had all but disappeared but today it's back - I swear the food is pushing it upwards!

Natalieand · 25/04/2013 14:27

roxvox no it's not a sun holiday, if was £250 for 3 days which personally I think is expensive but dd is looking forward to it every time she sees a caravan advert on the tv she gets excited and asks if its out holiday? Lol

Dh and I are hoping for another baby girl. So keep your fingers and toes crossed for that lol x

All this holiday talk is making me feel summer while sat at my mum and dads in the Lovely sunshine :-)

Claphammama · 25/04/2013 15:11

sounds lovely bowlfull - sunny and relaxing! I have my "sun holidays" booked for early August, when I will be "to big and sweaty to enjoy it" :-) I expect all discomfort augumented by the sight of DP drinking lovely chilled wine on hot summer nights... Actually, I'm already p*** off with him about it. In advance!

Flyer - I know how it feels but once you find the right house and move in, you will love it and it will be great. I was so heartbroken a couple of times over the last year but, now that we've found our house and are in, I think it was all for the best and this is the one. Good luck!

Wickedgirl · 25/04/2013 16:03

When I was pregnant with my first, I don't think I felt her move until I was about 20 weeks.

I think you can feel it earlier the more babies you have.

How far will all of you be when you start your maternity leave?

roofio87 · 25/04/2013 16:11
