are you having twins legally?

Tarlia · 24/04/2013 18:44

smitten and cherry fantastic news, naughty babies giving their parents a fright.

Having the same issue with prams, DS will be 2.8. Most mornings we get the bus to nursery without pram but there some days I know I'll need it so take it. If he tantrums he lays flat out on his tummy and is like wrestling a wet fish.

legallyblond · 24/04/2013 18:48

Yes! Total surprise! We found out at the 12w / nuchal fold scan! Not in either family... Not really part of the plan! We have a (now) 2.5 yo DD and the whole preg was a bit of a surprise!

TheFalconsmistress · 24/04/2013 18:53

Evening ladies just thought I would say anyone who is formula feeding tesco do the MAM starter set for 14 quid half the price of mothercare and 7 quid cheaper than amazon, it is the bottles we liked last time along with NUK so i am trying to get bit by bit in. I thought the info may be useful to someone!

Claphammama · 24/04/2013 19:06

wow legally, can imagine it takes some getting used to! was meant to be then! At least you never have to wonder if you should have a third one :-) some of my friends are now considering and arguing about it with DHs! are they one egg or two eggs? are you going to find out at next scan what flavour they are?

OrangeBlossom2 · 24/04/2013 19:13

Jelly would reins be enough to keep him safe and close by? A bit like keeping a dog on a lead but at least he won't be able to go far. We all had them as children but I haven't seen them around much recently. Maybe like play pens they went out of fashion a bit. He could then stand on a buggy board or walk.

I called the screening midwife today about my high hcg and low pappa blood results. She said that yes they were above and below the expected levels but that research on hcg isn't conclusive enough for them to do anything about it other than use as part of downs screening, and that low pappa is linked to problems with the placenta/low birth weight/ stillbirth but that they only do extra growth scans and checks if your rate is 0.2MOM or below and mine is 0.5MOM so hopefully nothing to worry about. She said my downs risk was 1 in 1400 originally so my bloods brought it down a lot to 370 but that that is still fine.

I felt really tearful and tired at school today after a few really busy days at work and crappy nights sleep in a row. We had new parents looking round and I was due to be observed although it was cancelled without anyone telling me so had to be on top form and ready to be on show all day which is exhausting. Natalie yes I still have blood when I blow my nose every morning and yes to back ache. I think maybe I am arching my back more than usual because of extra tummy and boob weight as is at the bottom that it aches. Trying to remember good posture. I have also been sweating way more than I think I would usually. Nice. I have popping feelings in my tummy whoever mentioned that their movements feel like that but I have had since about 6 weeks so I know it can only be gas rather than baby movements for me sadly. I am very interested to find out what movement will feel like and can't wait. I am only 14+3 and its my first baby so probably a while to go yet.

Livened · 24/04/2013 19:52

Movements last time felt like someone flicking their finger (as if flicking a peanut or something off a table), only from the inside obviously!

Can't wait to feel it again - I was around 17 weeks the last time so could be anytime hopefully in the next week or two... Why is everything in pregnancy such a long wait!,

roofio87 · 24/04/2013 21:11

orange I've had an emotional day too. I started my Childminding training course tonight and the trains were all cancelled so had to get a taxi instead. spent the whole journey there in tears (poor taxi driver!) only to be just 5 mins late and they hadn't even started yet. the other women there thought I was crazy!!

Smitten1981 · 24/04/2013 21:29

Orange, try not to worry too much about your bloods. It was mine that gave the high risk and that has proved to not really mean anything in the end.

juniper9 · 24/04/2013 21:39

I've just cried because my DP messed up dinner. I'm usually a very strict vegetarian but I've been eating some fish (and feeling guilty) because I've been craving it and worrying about not getting a balanced diet.

I have been wanting tuna and mayonnaise for ages but he ate the last tin, so I bought some on my way home. For some unknown reason he decided to stick mushrooms and garlic in with it- making it basically inedible. Cue tears. Maybe a touch over dramatic but it's seriously vile. Back to the veggie frawns.

GTbaby · 24/04/2013 21:44

Hello ladies.
Had a midwife app today. Heard heart beat. Grin Sounds like a gallop. Hope that means its a girl !

I'm having the buggy dilemma. Lo1 will be 11 months. However by the time I do my "at home time" (in my culture we stay at home for 5 wreks after the baby is born) he will b a year old. Wondering how long I can keep baby in sling and lo1 in a pushchair. We don't really do long walks. Mostly when shopping. Dilemma.

GTbaby · 24/04/2013 21:46

Juniper in last pregnancy I went flip mode because he put to much chilli in the curry. I cried , wailed accused him of not loving me. U know, just normal pregnancy behaviour.

Wickedgirl · 24/04/2013 21:51

Asia are having a baby event at the moment so you can pick up some bargains

Wickedgirl · 24/04/2013 21:52

roofio87 · 24/04/2013 23:11

yes wicked I'm going to the asda baby event tomorrow. sil works there so going with her to get he extra staff discount too!! Grin

chickieno1 · 25/04/2013 01:41

Glad to hear it was good news for cherry and smitten yesterday!

Jelly I have the same problem as you. DS 1 will be just 3 when new baby is born. I don't drive so we walk everywhere, buses, trains etc. I plan on using a sling initially but ds was a little chunky monkey and by the time he was ~5 months it was hard to carry him in sling for too long. I'm a bit scared new baby will be the same. Don't really want double buggy or phil and ted type thing as would be very big but ds can get tired and then want to be carried which would be impossible. Haven't looked at buggies or anything yet...

Had antenatal appointment today. Heard babies heartbeat which was lovely. Also had chat ALREADY about how i want to deliver baby. DS 1 was em CS and I'm thinking might go for VBAC but they want to book elCS now so as to ensure theatre slot etc!!!!! I can change my mind at any stage but a bit daunting as I'm just 15 weeks :)

I thought ASDA events were always quite good.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 25/04/2013 05:55

Congratulations legally that is amazing news!! What a shock for you guys. (But a good one!)

OrangeBlossom2 · 25/04/2013 07:07

Thanks smitten. How are you feeling today?

Hello! Found out yesterday that our surprise dc3 was a little further along than we thought and am due October 13th. Is there any chance I can hop on a bit late please? Grin

Natalieand · 25/04/2013 07:39

Welcome fools always room for one more :-) when did u think dc3, was due originally?

Just browsing the Asda baby event online and oooooo I'm excited :)

cuillereasoupe · 25/04/2013 07:42

the public hair area Sorry Natalie but this made me Grin

My inlaws have invited themselves to stay for THREE WEEKS. I want to kill them already. Do you reckon I can blame a double homicide on the hormones?

Flyer747 · 25/04/2013 07:49

Welcome fools, we are due date buddies :-)

Didn't get the house, someone else put in a higher offer as it was sealed bids :-( oh well, it wasn't meant to be I guess...back to the drawing board we go so DP took me for a fancy meal last night as compo I was naughty and had a Kir Royal but it tasted lush....

Shirehobbit · 25/04/2013 08:15

Hello fools - I'm another one due on the 13th (great date if it happens 13.10.13)

I had a bit of a browse around some other threads last night. The Embarrassing Pregnancy Bodies had me crying with laughter. Just what have we let ourselves in for?! Grin

foolserrand · 25/04/2013 08:32

Ooh! Lots on the 13th. We thought we weren't this far along at all, maybe 8 weeks. Already have a 4 year old and dd turns 1 on Sunday.

Am going to try to catch up with everything so I can join in properly. Seems you guys talk lots Wink so I may be quiet for a few days Grin

BowlFullofJelly · 25/04/2013 08:37

Sorry to hear about the house flyer, hope you fine 'the one' soon!

Thanks for all of the comments regarding the pushchair situation ladies - was telling DP about it last night - think he finds us all vaguely amusing!

12 days until I go on holiday and can't wait! Am so not focused at work at the moment, hoping a week relaxing will give me the energy boost I need to get through the next 3.5 months at work. Can't believe I'll be starting maternity leave in 4 months - so exciting! Mind you, I told DS this morning that just before baby comes Mummy won't be going to work anymore, she will be staying home to look after him and baby - and he said 'I'll go to work instead then Mummy' Confused.

In other news, I got a proper big kick right near my belly button last night - no mistaking that one for wind, it made me jump!
