MoN shannah is a lovely name. I have a thing about names that aren't well know, I love them, but think they would always get asked "how do you spell that" also, sounds daft, but you know when you go on holiday and there's gift shops I think it's nice that they can get a cup with their name on etc. god I sound silly!!

First day off the meds today and just going to have breaky. Wish me luck :-/

Sparkeleigh · 21/04/2013 08:59

Jellycurls have you tried your local library? I've got about 10 Debbie Bliss books reserved - I'm going to scan the patterns I like then return them and get busy knitting. I'm doing a cardi from a pattern my mum gave me atm, I can't believe how tiny it is!

Congrats on the scan Falcon, I love the name Willow!

Natalieand · 21/04/2013 09:04

Lol hayle that made me chuckle as dd is called honey she can't have anything with her name on unless I order especially so I no what u mean there!!

takingachance · 21/04/2013 09:19

Hi,

I just spent 2 days reading this thread! So I was wondering if I could join you lovely ladies.....

I'm 14+4 with 2nd dc, due 15th October. I have a dd who is 7, (plus 3 dsc age 19, 18 and 16!) Oh and I've just become a 'step' grandma as eldest sd had a little boy a couple of weeks ago! So that makes me feel a bit old to be pregnant! (actually 'only' 39)......

Shirehobbit · 21/04/2013 09:27

Hello takingachance Smile

+1 to Natalie's statement about wishing us all healthy and happy rest of pregnancies. I don't know why, but I'm having a real wobble this weekend, like I've been totally thrown back to those middle weeks of the first trimester, where I was absolutely terrified of miscarrying again. The 20wk scan seems a really, really long way away right now Sad.

Anyway, off to an NCT nearly new sale shortly. Wish us luck - I think we may need it! Wink

takingachance · 21/04/2013 09:32

I know what you mean Shire about back to the worrying stage - I'm only 2 weeks after my NT scan and it seems eons to go until 29th May for the 20 week scan. No chance of any extra scans here unless I go to the mainland...

Haylebop12 · 21/04/2013 09:38

taking welcome :-) were very chatty on here!

Your also my scan date buddy, I'm also on 29th!

takingachance · 21/04/2013 09:41

Cool hayle - I can't wait to find out gender... I initially thought I wanted a surprise, but DH wanted to find out and it took me, oh about 2 seconds to change my mind!

It's nice to have ladies to chat to - I work with all men Hmm

ananikifo · 21/04/2013 10:00

JellyCurls: here are some free onesie patterns. Are you on ravelry.com? If not you can join for free and their pattern search is amazing! My search for a free, onesie knitting pattern yielded 89 results. Here are done selected ones. You would need to sign in to ravelry to see the full search results. I can't recommend ravelry highly enough for knitters an crocheters.

Haylebop Not silly at all. I've been known to order personalised stuff on line so they can have the same rubbish you get in gift shops with their names on.

NotYoMomma · 21/04/2013 10:26

Awww Willow is a lovely name.

If I have a girl I wanted to call her Eden but DH is against it. I think Georgia is near the top of our list at the minute.

Boys I am clueless, I used to like Jenson (F1 fans!) but I've met a few recently so Im not sure....

I have to wait til June 10th to find out the sex! It's SO far away!!!

In other news, I'm now 12lbs lighter so water birth is still within grasp lol

FeministInTraining · 21/04/2013 10:31

Morning! Congratulations on the scan falcon we're waiting to find out but I'm still excited to find out what everyone else is having- it must be lovely to get another look at your baby, 20 week scan seems very far away- 28th May for us.

DP went off Savannah (someone's DCs name I can't rember who but I love it!) so we're with Jemima for a girl and possibly Isaac for a boy but not too sure yet. Thoughts welcome, be honest- critique seems less harsh from online strangers than friends/family if they look Hmm

Thanks so much ananikifo for posting that link, DM and I are both going to get knitting soon so will enjoy browsing patterns. I started knitting a blanket for a cousin a couple of years ago and then stopped so will dig it out and finish it. Only prob is I think I got bored and stopped mid-row so need to work out where I am...

roofio87 · 21/04/2013 10:42

loving all this knitting talk, I love knitting!!! I've done one blanket already (I put a pic on my profile cos I'm quite proud of it cos I'm not really that good!!) knitting another simpler one now, decided blankets would be very useful for an October baby. going to knit a little outfit when we know what we're having!!Smile

takingachance · 21/04/2013 10:44

Aww, love hearing everyone's name ideas - love the name Eden, Notyo

I am finding it difficult to think about names until we know the gender. Last time we had a list of 5 names and then picked a completely different one after dd was born!

Wish I could actually knit, mind you my nana loves knitting and has started already, so I don't think we will be short of knitted items - we will need it given the time of year the babies are going to arrive...

Smitten1981 · 21/04/2013 10:49

Feminist - my best friend's son is called Isaac, love that name.

ananikifo · 21/04/2013 11:08

I'm so glad others are knitting! I have a blanket and some booties I made a long time ago, and now in working on this cardigan: [http://www.etsy.com/listing/111237159/baby-owl-yoke-cardigan-pdf-pattern] I'm planning on putting buttons on the owls' eyes to make the owls more obvious. After that I'll make one of those hats that looks like a pumpkin, I think. [http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-n46DNF_7dCE/UG8WAyipuYI/AAAAAAAABak/lUlG3qphC3E/s1600/Blog+#1.jpg]

TheFalconsmistress · 21/04/2013 11:09

Thanks for all the congratulations ladies :)

Taking welcome we are a chatty lot

I love the name Eden too, I know what people are saying about the funny looks from family when we have mentioned Willow 2/3 love it 1/3rd hate it including my mum dad and mil oh well they will just have to lump it! Grin

ananikifo · 21/04/2013 11:11

Sorry everyone. I was trying to make links that work using the iPhone app but I don't think they do work. I wish I could edit my posts!

JellyCurls · 21/04/2013 11:20

anan I am on revelry and completely forgot about joining. Saw the most gorgeous one and its only available in French. Don't think my basic standard grade French will translate a pattern though. I never saw "je m'apelle Jelly" written anywhere

MotherOfNations · 21/04/2013 11:21

I think Williow is a lovely name Falcon I wouldn't care to much about other peoples opinions. I love Isaac too Feminist.

Haylebop12 · 21/04/2013 11:27

Isaac fan here too. I love zac/zak but its my cousins name so it is a way

FeministInTraining · 21/04/2013 11:29

Grin @ Jelly that made me giggle.

Roofio the blanket is gorgeous, well done! Mine isn't that fancy, I'm really impressed! I learnt to loop some wool round a needle knit when I was about 8 but a few years ago decided to do a bit more and YouTube gets the credit for just about everything I have managed to do! I just type the abbreviations in and watch the screen and copy- even managed to knit some mittens on three needles, was very chuffed with myself!

DM is going to pass on the cardi that she knitted for my brother when she was PG with him- complete with duck buttons!

Haylebop12 · 21/04/2013 11:29

Isaac fan here too. I love zac/zak but its my cousins name so it is a way of having zak bit not directly iyswim!

I wish I could knit! Dd has a crochet blanket from when she was born. It was pink/white. It's not black grey and full of holes but she sleeps with it every night without fail! She's now 4.3 an wondering how much longer it will last!

FeministInTraining · 21/04/2013 11:29

You're making me like Isaac more, I'm so easily swayed!!
