Grin bear at you moving to escape him!

HazleNutt · 11/04/2013 19:27

I put a bump photo up. 30 weeks tomorrow.

Purplemonster · 11/04/2013 19:46

Oh you're not massive at all Hazle! It's a very nice bump. I think my bump is a similar size but looks bigger than yours because I've not got boobs to balance it out. Will try to take a photo later.

Cavort · 12/04/2013 00:12

So tired but I had to just pop on and tell you my friend's amazing birth story.

She had her baby girl tonight at 11.30pm at 40+3.

Her Mum showed up at hers tonight about 6.30pm and forced her to take castor oil. She sent me a message at 7.45pm saying she couldn't make it to my birthday drinks as she couldn't stop chucking up after said castor oil. At 9pm she said she seemed to be 'weeing out of her bum' Shock (assume waters had gone). She had the first contraction at 10pm, went to hospital at 11pm to be told she was already 8cm and had baby at 11.30pm.

Can I place an order for one like that please?!! Envy

Hazle your bump's not that big, it just seems to go higher then mine. Envy at your impressive boobage!

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 06:50

that was just after gym in a sports bra, so boobs are nicely flattened. I look a bit scary otherwise Grin

yes I'll take that 1,5 labour as well please.

Alexandra6 · 12/04/2013 07:41

Your friend is so lucky cavort - yes please, a pre-order from me on that one! Hope you enjoyed your bday drinks. I was out until midnight last night, a massively late night for me these days! Woken up with a really bad throat though, annoying.

hazel you've got a lovely bump! And yes impressive boobage. Mine have grown loads - I might even fill a C cup properly now! Wow. haha Wink

Have nausea and a client meeting today. Great mix!

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 08:14

Oh, the baby bed arrived. They claimed it has a long delivery time, supposed to be arriving in May, but was here in a couple of days.

If anybody is interested in a co-sleeper, then I got this one:
www.amazon.de/FabiMax-Beistellbett-Babymax-Matratze-PROTECT/dp/B009WQFONG/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365750610&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=babzmax

Cheaper than the Babybay I was originally planning on getting, has good reviews and is quite big, so can be used longer. Has a 4th side so can also be used as a normal cot.

Alexandra6 · 12/04/2013 08:29

I'd heard co sleepers mentioned and didn't really know what they are, just googled and such a good idea, how long does the baby stay in that next to your bed for?

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 08:40

The recommendation is to have the baby in your room for safety reasons for the first 6 months. So if the co-sleeper is big enough, I would guess we can just keep the baby there until it's time to move to his own room.

All new parents I know have been raving about the co-sleepers, apparently makes a hell of a difference if you don't have to climb out of bed every time the baby needs something. And having a baby in our own bed is not for me, I would be terrified to move.

janey1234 · 12/04/2013 09:23

I bought the arms reach co sleeper for £87 off ebay, and a new mattress from the manufacturers for c.£50. A steal vs the £300 new price! Also lasts for six months, and given I've bought a proper decent cotbed for after the first six months (loving how confident I am that he/she will move into their own room then?!) I was reluctant to spend much more if I could help it.

Anyone know anything about heartburn? Can it make you vomit? Went out last night and woke up at 2.30am with the worst heartburn ever, and had a red face and was all shaky... Then I ran to the bathroom and was violently sick (sorry TMI!). Was supposed to be going to see my Nan tomorrow, but don't want to risk it if it's a bug, and was wondering if you all thought it was feasible that it could have been from the heartburn?

Hazle - you look amazing. Will post my flabby bump later, although quite why I'm not sure, given how fab you and cavort look!

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 09:26

janey according to google yes, heartburn can also cause vomiting, so if you don't have any other symptoms of a bug, that's probably the cause.

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 09:26

Oh and I'm 30 weeks today. 10 more (or so) to go.

janey1234 · 12/04/2013 09:30

Wow hazle. 10 weeks. In a strange way, it only seems like yesterday you got your BFP (I was obv v. Envy Wink )It's weird how slowly the first 12 weeks go - but now, we all seem to be heading towards our due dates at a pace!!

Alexandra6 · 12/04/2013 09:41

Thank god time speeds up more than it's crawling past for me now!

Cavort · 12/04/2013 09:41

Janey I haven't had heartburn yet but i've been getting what I assume is acid reflux quite a bit recently, where I seem to randomly puke volcanic lava into the back of my mouth. Having never had either before I'm just guessing that's what it is, but I'm finding an extra pillow under my head is helping. Oh the joys Hmm

I also think the time is going much faster now probably because I am dreading the birth.

Purplemonster · 12/04/2013 10:25

The hospital have phoned, they want to see me today, they're still waiting for some of my results but some of my liver function results were a bit high so they're adequately assured that there is something actually wrong with me so...They're going to give me DRUGS!!! Drugs that will calm the itching down, I could weep with gratitude. God bless the NHS.

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 10:35

Good to hear they're doing something about it! Hope it's nothing seriously wrong, of course.

BraveLilBear · 12/04/2013 11:01

Oh bless you Purple I think that's good news! So pleased they're able to help you... Fingers crossed it takes effect sooner rather than later.

Janey yes heartburn makes you vom. It took me ages to work out why I'd feel sick before eating, then eat, feel better, but then feel sick again (different feeling) about an hour later. And heartburn vom is plain nasty - would throw up entire meals.

If you haven't already, meet my friend Gaviscon. As soon as I get that sicky feeling at night, I take a couple of spoonfuls and voila. Bliss.

Hazle you have a fab bump! and boobs Will take a picture later. 10 weeks doesn't sound long at all! Eek!

Have suddenly started worrying about the bit that comes immediately after the pregnancy and immediately before being an actual real-life mum. It all feels really rather real all of a sudden. I don't think it helps that I get the occasional Braxton Hicks contraction - and it hurts! I thought they weren't supposed to?!

Had one last night that started out like a stitch but then got tighter and tighter and was quite a sharp pain. Lasted about 90seconds. It hurt! I had to stop what I was doing, couldn't finish putting my shoes on (bending down hurt more) but could just talk with a struggle. I have got no chance Sad

Cavort · 12/04/2013 11:12

Purple I'm so glad they've acknowledged it is actually something and are giving you drugs to sort it. If they're the same as the ones my friend had they completely cured her itching so FX they do the same for yours. Are you going to be referred to a Consultant about it?

Brave I have been wondering if it's BH I have been getting recently. not sure but mine are not strong enough yet to tell the difference between them and toilet pains some other cause. There's definitely something weird going on though.

Right, i'm off to Espana Grin

BraveLilBear · 12/04/2013 11:16

Woop to Espana! Have a fab time Cavort Envy Grin

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 11:28

Have fun!

janey1234 · 12/04/2013 12:08

Envy from here too. Have an amazeballs time cavort

It was indeed nasty vom. Throat still feels a bit raw from it. Lovely. Still, am chomping on rennies this morning and haven't been sick today. Hoorah.

I too have had a few braxton hicks. My bump goes weird - kind of narrower and sticks out more - and it really is a strange old feeling. One was verging on painful but thankfully the rest have just felt plain odd....

HazleNutt · 12/04/2013 12:27

Hm I don't think I've had Braxton. Or I just didn't notice? Sometimes the bump feels a bit funny, but not like it's contracting, more like that the baby is trying to shift position. That's probably not it?

janey1234 · 12/04/2013 13:04

It's probably because you're so fit with a stomach of iron anyway you don't notice whereas it's clear as anything as my usually flabby belly tightens up ......

Purplemonster · 12/04/2013 13:56

I don't think I've had any either Hazle, not that I've noticed and I definitely havent got any remarkable stomach muscles. Back from the hospital with a big bag of drugs, happy days! More blood tests in two weeks but hopefully the magic drugs will make the itching all better. I'm feeling amazingly positive about it all and not dwelling on the probability of going into premature labour or being induced as early as 37 weeks and not being at all prepared (even usually unflappable OH looked a bit pale when I asked if the attic conversion was going to be done in time now that the baby could well be at least two weeks early), nope, if they can keep the baby safe and stop me itching, the rest is just gravy, I refuse to worry.

Have a fab weekend away Cavort, I'm not jealous though because, did I mention, I've got DRUGS!
