Oh no, really hope all works out with Mr.Bear. Crappy timing hey Sad

hazle - I had that once last week, but thankfully apart from that I don't really (so far) notice the baby at night. Occasionally it will kick if I lie at an angle s/he doesn't like, but usually stops as soon as I move. I do think that's simply because I'm a really deep sleeper though so am not going to let myself be lulled into a false sense of security over that!

Also exhausted after late night roof leaks on Fri night and wedding on Saturday. How am I going to cope with a newborn?!

HazleNutt · 13/05/2013 12:13

you just wait - littleNutt has so far also been very civilised, waking up around brekfast time and active mostly in the afternoon and evening. I'm hoping the night was an one-off, or at least not indicative of his future behaviour..

janey1234 · 13/05/2013 12:22

babyjaney is certainly usually a morning baby - much more activity before 2pm than after (like me in a way - much more productive in the mornings at work!). Am not looking forward to the all night discos though hazle if that is indeed what he/she is planning. Great, something else stopping me sleep properly!

Purplemonster · 13/05/2013 13:46

I think I've got a case of acute idleitis today and I haven't got an excuse as apart from the obligatory 2/3 middle of the night wees I slept fine last night but I've got the day off work (they owe me as I worked a Sunday a couple of weeks ago) I've vacuumed and mopped downstairs but now have a terrible urge to lie on the sofa eating ice cream. There is tons I could/should be doing but I'm not sure I can be arsed Blush

BraveLilBear · 13/05/2013 14:09

Purple that's not idelitis, that's called having a well-earned day off! I very much wish I could be joining you on that sofa!

Doesn't sound like you had much of a fun weekend Janey - late night roof leaks - eek! Hope the wedding was better. What did you wear in the end?

Have discovered a new trick. I make myself work for 10-15 minutes, then break off for a couple of minutes. And repeat. It's the only way I'm staying sane and I'm getting a lot more done than in my usual outright panic mode.

Cavort · 13/05/2013 14:22

I'm yet to notice a defined pattern of headbanging times so I hope this doesn't mean I am having one which is active 24/7 Shock

FX for Mr Bear on the job front

Purple I am registering my vote for you sitting on your arse eating ice cream.

Apologies to those of you having stressful Mondays at work, I hope things get a bit better. I am off this week and in the car on the way to Cornwall and then I have 2 weeks left at work before maternity leave starts, which is just as well because I mentally left shortly after Christmas Blush

Purplemonster · 13/05/2013 15:27

Wave as you go past Cavort! Grin
I wish I had stayed on the sofa but instead I decided to try to tackle the cupboard of doom and now I'm surrounded by crap I don't know what to do with and desperately want to just shove it all back in and have another ice cream, grrr.

Frogcatcher · 13/05/2013 15:54

You'll probably think I'm crazy but am massively jealous of all those off on imminent maternity leave. I had to leave the house today at 6.45 to drive for an hour to give a talk at a 3 hour seminar. I could barely stay awake to the extent that one of the other presenters saw my head drooping during his session Blush. In my defence the room was really warm too. I am just absolutely shattered the whole time & I don't think DP gets it. He called me a drama queen at the weekend during a row but I think he is also really worried about the future & totally stressed out about the whole thing so that he barely slept on Sat night. Despite our ban on telling people he told his best mate when he asked him why he looked so terrible so I've forgiven him as he needs to talk to someone too. Pls tell me it gets easier!

Cavort · 13/05/2013 16:11

Hi Purple!! Spotted your new impressive roof windows on the way past Grin

Frog I was a million times more tired in the early weeks than I am now at nearly 34 weeks. It is really tough. And remember, imminent maternity leave means imminent birth Shock

BraveLilBear · 13/05/2013 16:14

Frogcatcher you could be me! I/we were exactly the same in the first trimester... the hormones were crazy, I had another health problem on top, DP thought I wasn't pulling my weight around the house Shock - result was hours and hours of rows. Probably improved around 14 weeks.

One of the worst things that happened was, when I was about 6/7 weeks, I got home from work and he said to me 'have you seen Facebook?' and I said I hadn't and he then told me about one of the blokes in his friendship group who had just announced their pregnancy.

It then transpired that DP had told mate about us. I went ballistic. We had promised not to tell anyone as we'd had an early mc just the month before. Looking back, he was probably stressed and excited - but I went mad that he wouldn't tell me that he was anything of the sort (he's very Spock-like) but would tell his mate and out us in the process!

I'm very impressed by your generous attitude Frog!

He is now fab and things are great, so it does get better. Grin

And the tiredness gets better too... for a few months at least!

BraveLilBear · 13/05/2013 16:19

Oh and ditto what Cavort said... imminent birth is a little scary. A girl I used to know, very similar shape and size to me (non-pregnant, natch) has just posted pics of her newborn on Facebook. The fact that this is about the 5th set of newborn pics I've seen in the last two weeks is by the by.

The fact that this one has very clear forcep marks all over her little cute face made me feel instantly sorry for her poor mum, and made everything very very real again.

Have fun in Cornwall Cavort Envy

Purplemonster · 13/05/2013 16:28

The crazy tired does get better Frog, it's just a pain that when you feel so rough you get no sympathy because hardly anybody knows and you don't look pregnant. For all it's not a breeze now, I really do think the early weeks are actually the hardest. I reserve the right to hanger my mind in the next few weeks though as I get bigger and in more pain.

I'm afraid I'm with Cavort on the mentally feeling like I've finished work already, I can't find any motivation or enthusiasm for it anymore, it seems totally irrelevant and unimportant, never though I'd be like that.

My other secret confession of the day is that after months of discussions with OH where I kept going on about how I really wanted 3 windows and I was worried about it being dark, he spent the extra and bought the pricey bank of 3 I really wanted...I've been up there today and I totally over egged it on the windows for such a small room, two would have been fine like he said. Shhh, I'm never telling him though Grin

Alexandra6 · 13/05/2013 16:35

Fingers crossed here too for Mr Bear's job.

bear do you mean his friend outed you on facebook at 6/7 weeks or has my baby brain totally mixed up that story? Poor you!

Have a well deserved ice cream after purple!

frog I nearly fell asleep in my FOUR hour meeting just now! Couldn't stop stuffing my face with the chocolate biscuits we put out for clients. What put a smile on my face afterwards was remembering I needed to cancel my IVF booking in appointment at the hospital which was coming up in a few weeks, yay Grin

I have my 12 week scan in the morning eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

Purplemonster · 13/05/2013 16:39

Oooh exciting Alex! Let us know how you get on!

HazleNutt · 13/05/2013 16:51

Exciting Alex!

I was sitting here contemplating being lazy and skipping the gym, but feeling guilty. But now have a good excuse - just checked the schedule and the Tae Bo class has been substituted with Bodycombat. Now combat itself I like a lot, but unfortunately today's is given by the worst instructor ever. During his previous class I felt a strong urge to grab the mic and do it myself, would be miles better even heavily pregnant. So a good excuse not to go - dogwalking counts as exercise too, right?

Alexandra6 · 13/05/2013 17:15

hazle the gym?! Tae Bo and bodycombat!?! When pregnant?! You're amazing to even be considering it!

I'm so nervous and excited, I know everyone feels like this but argh, at least it's early in the morning so I don't have time to get even more nervous during the day. Doesn't help that work are really piling on the pressure but my new strategy is not to react negatively (as they'll moan about me being pregnant/moody etc) so I am being cheerful and positive, but what doesn't get done in my working hours, doesn't get done and I leave my stress at the door! Strategy is working well so far! (day one!)

BraveLilBear · 13/05/2013 17:35

Alex if that had happened, there would have been murder and a pre-marriage divorce! No, DP just told his mate that we were expecting too. I may have overreacted a bit. But still think he should have asked me first.

Don't worry Purple your secret is safe with us Wink so long as you don't have to wash them, everyone's a winner right?

Lots of luck for your scan in the morning Alex I was a wreck before mine... think we ended up having one of our famous 'rows' due to the stress (my fault, natch).

And I think your strategy is right - I have decided that, as well as my 15-minute burst tactic - I have started saying no. So someone has been in touch and asked me to do something - I said yes, but am in the middle of something else right now, I'll be back in touch soon. Felt quite liberating tbh...

Frogcatcher · 13/05/2013 17:54

Thanks all for the reassurance. I'm sure I'll be bricking it when it gets to imminent mat leave too.

LOL at the windows purple! Hope you don't complain later that there is too much light in there or noise from rain!

hazle as the resident gym bunny it seems do you think I should tell my Pilates teacher tmrw? It seems v early to do so & most people don't get the pregnancy triangle out till post scan but there is only two of us in class so she tends to put us through our paces. I wouldn't want to faint dramatically or something & scare her or her to wonder why I'm being more pathetic than usual!

I won't be able to go to my fight class anymore as it was actual boxing with gloves & shin pads for kicks & did involve actually being punched in the stomach occasionally so not really pg friendly.

Frogcatcher · 13/05/2013 17:55

Oh & good luck tmrw Alex! FX for you.

Quodlibet · 13/05/2013 18:22

Frog you have my sympathy as I have the Incredible Tiredness too. I had to come clean to my team today as I am directing them and didn't want them to think I was bored all afternoon when I get the inevitable yawning fit and can barely keep my eyes open after lunch. It feels like I have been caning it at a 5 day music festival when actually I've been mainly lying on the sofa and going to bed at 9pm. Yes too to the arguments/stress - particularly hard when there's LOADS to do in our new flat and whilst I am the one making the mental lists I am also the one confined to the sofa.

Cavort have a lovely time in Cornwall, my folks live down there and I love it.

Alex everything crossed for you tomorrow - what time is your appt?

Purplemonster · 13/05/2013 18:33

Oh god Frog! The rain! I hadn't even thought about the rain, it's going to be deafening, half the bloody roof is glass! Grin

Sympathy for everyone in the first trimester, it will fly by though and you'll feel a lot better before you know it. Aside from the first few weeks which were torturously slow, I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone, feels like such a short time ago I was nervously waiting for scans and all of a sudden there's only 7 weeks left!

HazleNutt · 13/05/2013 19:39

frog yes, tell your instructor. I don't really do pilates myself, but I've heard there are some exercises not recommended even early on. I teach some classes and always prefer if people tell me they are pregnant/sick/tired, so I know not to push them so hard.
If you are used to actual boxing then maybe one of the boxing-aerobics classes?

I do recommend exercise to all pregnant women, if you're up to it - I've been quite active and that's probably at least one of the reasons I've had it so easy (well, so far, touch wood).

Foodylicious · 13/05/2013 20:19

Has 1st scan today at EPU after a worrisome weekend and all if fine. Tiny 5mm bean so they say about 6+1, my dates say 6+5 but who cares! all is good for now, phew.

Re Pilates, i have had a look at the pilatesod site and think I will sign up to it when i am a bit further along. also you can use nmealing in the discount code section to get a discount (found this on netmums(such a traitor))

Purplemonster · 13/05/2013 21:12

Yay! Great news Foody!

Alexandra6 · 13/05/2013 21:57

Congrats foody!
