im am so sorry dreams - please take care

louby86 · 05/04/2013 09:58

I wasn't allowed to start getting child care vouchers until I returned from maternity leave and still not entirely sure what will happen when I go on maternity leave again :/

williaminajetfighter · 05/04/2013 10:00

oh shoot dreams - what crappy news. It is so depressing to see people leaving this thread. I do hope you try again soon.

Diege · 05/04/2013 10:15

Sorry to hear your news dreams; I had been wondering how things were going. Take care xxx

Dreamstoreality · 05/04/2013 10:19

Thanks everyone.

This was my 3rd miscarriage so will hopefully be having some investigations now. Have to wait until everything settles down first so at least 6 weeks before the blood tests and then repeated bloods a couple of months after that. But will be trying again ASAP

williaminajetfighter · 05/04/2013 10:46

Dreams I was like you and had 3 mcs. It was really useful getting the investigations (even though it didnt show anything particularly wrong... just my age (am 43 - eggs tired)!)

But if you do get pg again, and I'm sure you will very soon, because of your recurrent mc you will be monitored really closely, scans every few weeks and a lot of care. I hope you get there. x

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/04/2013 10:53

SuffolkNWhat yes, I'm in private and I wasn't allowed to join until after my maternity. I'm not sure what will happen to my current schema when I take leave this time. I'm fully ready for them to say, but hey, you aren't allow to continue.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/04/2013 10:55

dreams hopefully you get some good news with the investigation. I didn't know it's your 3rd mc. It must be a horrible thing I can imagine. I'm really anxious this time because I had one mc.

Sorry to hear your news, dreams :(

Williamina, I used to work for your current employers, until I abandoned the academic life for a change of career. I enjoyed living in Ox, although spent a lot of time in London which probably helped. Hopefully you will get used to it. I did my phd in a town I initially hated and found claustrophobic, but grew to love my life there due to the fantastic friends I made.

littlemonkey2013 · 05/04/2013 11:32

sorry to hear your news dreams.

i had my scan yesterday (7 weeks) and the black blob has got bigger, couldnt see the embryo clearly though but the doctor said all on track. he turned the sound on and we heard the heartbeat too which makes us feel better. still says we have to go back in 2 weeks to check again and then we should see the embryo.

when we got home we scanned the photo to send to my brother to tell him and zooming in a bit my parents reckon we can see what we think is the embryo with a little umbilical cord.

i was a little disappointed we couldnt see more as a black blob is not always the most reassuring but the doctor seemed very happy and said its going well and not to be worried. so the wait is on for another 2 weeks... i just want to see something that looks like a baby

i dont feel as sick today which is a bonus but then ive only eaten haribo yet today so they are obviously agreeable.

williaminajetfighter · 05/04/2013 11:35

retroelle how good to know that someone survived Oxford and the Uni as well. It's a funny place but, like everywhere, good friends make the place don't they? Am just not sure if I like the 'vibe' --- it's certainly not very 'funky' is it? I'm sure i'll find my way back north eventually!

EcoHippyMum · 05/04/2013 11:50

Sorry to hear your sad news Dreams, sending you lots of love and hugs x

JBrd · 05/04/2013 11:54

Sorry to hear your sad news, Dream, take good care of yourself x

notsoold · 05/04/2013 13:09

So sorry for you Dreams....xxxxx

BoyMeetsWorld · 05/04/2013 13:13

Onelittle - I'm private sector. They're pretty good but considering the very base maternity pay I'm guessing they won't be overly supportive relating to vouchers.

I do already have a DS - meant to join the scheme ages ago but it was so complicated and nobody here offered any guidance at all.

Dreams - so very sorry - 4th time lucky? Very best of luck

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/04/2013 13:24

boysmeetsworld if you have a son in paid childcare, and you are not entitiled to working tax credit, then it's always worth enrolling. You can get £243 a month max (if you are a lower rate tax payer). That would save you about £930 a year in childcare cost. The child's father can claim separately.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/04/2013 13:25

I mean the father can also claim, so in total, if you are both lower rate tax payer, you save around £1860 a year. Higher rate tax payer get less.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/04/2013 13:27

I mean childcare tax credit ... not the working one.

honey86 · 05/04/2013 14:09

just had my booking app.. ep met me there... but he sulked through the whole appt!! Angry cos i werent all smiles n sunshine when i met him. wtf does he expect? give me sum flowers and a note and for things to be back to normal?! he sure came unstuck. i dropped him off at work and said 'if i hear from the midwives ill contact you' and gave him the scan date on a bit of paper. he muttered ok n flounced off like a stroppy child. as per, unless it goes his way hes not happy.

midwife put me down as high risk cos of previous complications and so im under the same lovely woman consultant as last time. but ill still be allowed to labour in the midwife led unit. got my dating/nuchal scan on the 18th x

so sorry dreams xx

started wearing a 'sea band' today to try to help the sicky feeling - anyone had any results with these?

Saundy · 05/04/2013 14:41

No joy for me Loz mostly just an irritated wrist.

Sorry it wasn't better Honey some effort eh? The flowers are the easy part, I hope you're feeling ok?

Alwaystheauntie · 05/04/2013 15:18

Just had my scan at EPU. Am 6 weeks not 8, so EDD moved to 29 nov. saw the heart beat on the black lob! V happy all is ok, but now got to go back 2 weeks!!

Dreams - v sorry to hear your news. Xx

williaminajetfighter · 05/04/2013 15:44

Loz the seabands did nothing for me. Apparently the curse of those with tiny wrists. Hopefully it will work for you!
