Also really looking forward to get going to the ante-natal yoga, rang around a couple of classes, no one will have me till I'm 12 weeks. Will have tokeep running then then, if I can manage to get myself out in the evening....although much easier with the lovely bright evenings.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 04/04/2013 22:06

tiredfeet it is 8 weeks for me but I don't think it is standard across all PCT. the midwife booking in is my first appointment re pregnancy. We don't see a GP first. As in we book an appointment at the surgery reception for a midwife directly.

riverflow · 04/04/2013 22:06

theicingontop feeling your week long lust for crisps. I am definately getting a big cheese pizza tomorrow night.

riverflow · 04/04/2013 22:11

Tiredfeet if you happen to be in Edinburgh I can give you the number of the Midwife centre. I just booked in my booking and scan myself with them about 10 min after I went to GP on week 5. I had specific dates that I needed the appointments to fit in around due to work and holidays so she advised me just to ring myself. I have my booking at 8 weeks and scan at 12 although I have read that booking can be between 8 - 10 weeks.

Saundy · 04/04/2013 22:13

Fairy try your local council website, they should have local classes that require no membership.

Tired it's normally week 8-10 but just call, what's the worst they can say.

Is anybody else uncomfortable lay on their backs? I usually like to sleep on my back but it feels like something's not sitting right now - but I have no bump!! Am 9 weeks tmr. It makes no sense.

i know a woman whos daughter had whooping cough and she sent her to school Angry some ppl are so selfish, stick their kids in school with a contagious infection that could harm pregnant women or babies just for the sake of gettin peace n quiet.

dd's chickenpox has all crusted over finally and are vanishing now.. thank phuk thats over, cos my son only had it mild and hes had it twice so far Hmm x

Evening everyone, didn't get a chance to look at my mat policy in work today but dh thinks I was 6 weeks at 90% and 33 weeks at 50% too, so fairly good. i have lots of holidays still to take this year too and next years holidays to an extent. Trying not to take too many of this years before going off although will take 2 weeks in the summer to spend with dd Grin

Had the worst day at work today. So stressful and feel a bit overwhelmed by my workload at the moment Hmm of course my boss doesn't know I'm pregnant which won't be helping. I didn't really want to tell him before 12 week scan but may have to just to let him know that I am struggling a bit with work, sickness, tiredness and uni all on top of being a a mummy already.

Off tomorrow as it is dds 3rd birthday GrinGrin so spending the day with her.

Dh home tonight so hoping for a decent deep sleep after hardly sleeping for 2 days. Feel really nauseous and dizzy tonight it just be linked to sleep deprivation!

Honey agree it might be a good plan to meet before the appointment to clear the air a bit? Although that might be hard of you don't want to speak with him, which is understandable.

Suffolk I have a bump too but can't see it yet with the fat on my tummy. Maas speaking to a friend today and she wore her normal jeans until well over the 20 week mark first time - second time round she couldn't button her jeans by the 12 week scan and her clothiers were right before that so it's probably fairly common 2nd or more time round. I just don't have motivation to look in shops for decent stuff to wear bit know I need to soon. I am usually a shopaholic!!!

EcoHippyMum · 05/04/2013 06:37

I'm already not fitting into clothes and I do have a bump already, probably mostly bloatedness, but I think everything has shifted up. When I had my scan at seven weeks they were pressing right over my bladder (not the most comfortable thing in the world) and could see it fine. But this is my fifth pregnancy (4th baby if it stays put). I am 9 weeks today!

getoffthecoffeetable · 05/04/2013 06:58

Morning all.
Good luck with meeting up with DP today honey and good luck to all of you having booking in and scans today.
Didn't sleep very well last night, kept getting weird fluttery feelings in my tummy. Very strange.
Am going to have to get DH to go into the loft tomorrow to get my maternity clothes out. Especially my belly bands.

getoffthecoffeetable · 05/04/2013 06:58

harv enjoy DD's birthday today.

Dizzy81 · 05/04/2013 07:28

Good luck today honey.

ecohippymum we're due date buddies.

I'm 9 weeks today and constantly farting, Shock bloated,, feeling sick when I o to bed and instantly sleepy. Works doing my head in, I'm in the same boat as you harvernia with workloads! Hope your dd has a lovely birthday.

EcoHippyMum · 05/04/2013 07:37

dizzy yay :). I too am getting lots of wind, have had a constant niggle on my right hand side for the last couple of hours after turning to quick in bed with round ligament stretch ... Now would like the resulting niggle to bugger off! Woke at 2:30 am with heart burn, and boobs doing weird sharp tingly pains. Went back to sleep, awake again at 4:30 needing a wee, then again at 5:30 after the fast turn. I too get tired very fast but finding it increasingly difficult to sleep for long periods! Not great when I have to drive 175 miles back home today!

Dizzy81 · 05/04/2013 08:18

Oh no poor you, eco you poor thing. Take it steady driving home.

I'm fine for a few days and then boom the symptoms hit me big time. I'm making myself go out for short walks, to get some fresh air and more importantly exercise.

I'm hoping I get a letter about my 12 week scan date in the next week. Even though I've seen jelly beam and it was spot on with size etc, I want o know it's ok and growing as it should.

BoyMeetsWorld · 05/04/2013 08:25

Suffolk - does that mean it would be worth quickly joining the childcare voucher scheme now before work know I'm pg?

Fairydogmother · 05/04/2013 08:54

I'm in England today with work - 2 flights plus driving kills me! Hoping the day goes quickly and I get home to bed zzzz

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/04/2013 09:07

BoyMeetsWorld are you in the public sector? Or private? And do you already have children. You can only join if you have a child. Technically, they are not allowed to kick you off the scheme during maternity, and also not allowed to deduct from SMP. But many private companies don't play nice. They have special rules around their childcare voucher schemes that make you leave on maternity. Or for small companies, they fake ignorance and just don't pay. I can't see the public sector doing scmmy things like this. I'm hoping my vouchers will be paid for during my leave because that's how I am going to keep DD in the nursery part time. I can't afford it otherwise.
