Hello all, nice to meet you. Grin

I have been lurking on the conception board for a few months but thought I should probably introduce myself as feeling a little rude since I know so much about most of you... Wink

I think I have posted a few comments on other boards but I'm still fairly new to the world of forums so please go easy on me.. Wink

So I got my bfp officially on tues but did a sneaky Internet cheapy on sun and thought the line was too faint so did another with dp on mon eve and same again so bought a clearblue and got bfp.... Eeek

I am absolutely terrified, I have a lovely DD who is 16 whom I practically brought up alone until I met my DP a few years ago, so it's almost new to both of us....

Also I have PCOS and this was our first attempt at ttc so am still a little shocked... Hopefully it will all be ok...

Symptoms so far... Not sleeping very well, cramps worse than af, and lots of cm... (Sorry!), edd 10th December.

Wow! Sorry for the essay! Look forward to speaking and sharing with you all over the next 8 months....

Hi b0nker5mum! Congratulations on the BFP!

Re the underwired bras, if they fit correctly (ie against your ribcage instead of sitting on the breast tissue) then in theory there is no problem. It's just that a lot of women wear badly fitting bras so the theory is that the underwire could squash the milk ducts.

From personal experience, I wore underwires through both my pregnancies, changing to Anita underwire feeding bras nearer the end, they have softer underwiring and the bras are very soft and comfortable but the support is fabulous, my boobs were massive towards the end. If I tried any non-underwired bras I got a monoboob resting on top of my bump Smile I breastfed both my DCs with no problems at all. Just my experience but hope this helps.

Aoifebelle · 04/04/2013 18:21

Hi gooseygirl. I live right by homerton so will be there. They have a pretty swish birthing set up, but only available if you are low risk.otherwise you are in the hospital

OrbisNonSufficit · 04/04/2013 19:40

Vocalista86 I'm wondering the same thing. Quite keen for that bit of pregnancy to start, mine are pretty small (34B)!

TakingTheStairs · 04/04/2013 22:33

Hi Bonker5. Congratulations! and welcome to the thread. We're all nice here, so no need to worry :)

13loki hahaha. I can't believe you made a dentist appointment like you thought. They must have thought you were over sharing like crazy when you gave them your history! Eek!
But yay for the chair

Hi everyone, had first midwife appointment yesterday, it's all starting to feel real now!

Have a reassurance scan next Friday, a screening appointment at the hospital o. The 22nd where they'll take all the info from the milllion forms I have to fill in, measure my height and weight and do a blood test. Then that's it until my 12 week scan!

Can't believe how I'm wishing my life away, just want to be at the 12 weeks already!

weechops · 05/04/2013 07:52

Oh clare that's exciting, it's all go now :)

I'm going to phone today for a doctor's appointment next week, and he can refer me to the midwives. And then I'll be counting down to 12 weeks too :)

Aoifebelle · 05/04/2013 07:55

I had a bit of a scary night. Had incredibly intense cramping for about 15 mins. Was drenched in sweat, dizzy and wretching. Went as quickly as it came.no blood this morning. Not sure what to do now.any advice ladies? Deffo want an early scan do most practice's offer them?

13loki · 05/04/2013 08:08

Morning. I might try to make a midwife appointment. Wonder what I'll end up with this time. Vet appointment perhaps?

OrbisNonSufficit · 05/04/2013 08:25

Oh dear Aoifebelle that doesn't sound fun at all. [hugs]

Do you have a midwife yet? I'd definitely call them, or your GP. The fact that there's no blood is really good though, that's the big red flag (no pun intended). Can you afford an early private scan if they won't do one on the NHS (for peace of mind)?

MildredH · 05/04/2013 08:27

Sorry you had a bad night Aoife- could it be unrelated ie: something you've eaten? Is your other half ok?

Def worth a visit to the gp I'd say..

Hope you're feeling ok today.

Aoifebelle · 05/04/2013 08:29

Thanks orbis. For this I will find the cash. My docs are usually pretty good. Have appt on Wednesday. I think I will give them a call today as well.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 05/04/2013 08:36

Oh dear aoife hope you're feeling better now. Most places will do you an early scan if you have had a previous mc or any bleeding. Definitely give your midwife a call. Also some EPU are self referral so you can just walk in. The one at st Mary's in Manchester you can just turn up I think but not sure where you are.
Only 4 days until my scan- eeek! I'm wishing it away too really although am still terrified about having two small people in my life. I swear I could feel movement last night and had massive fear that I'll go for the scan and they'll say oh yes you're 16 weeks and baby 2 will be here sooner than I thought.
Pop up ball bit still popped up despite many hours wrestling with it Grin

Popscene21 · 05/04/2013 08:45

Hi everyone, I have an early internal scan booked for this morning to rule out potential ectopic. Has anyone had one of these? I'm so nervous and just don't know what to expect. X

Aoifebelle · 05/04/2013 09:13

Thanks for the messages. Waiting in the drs now. Pain gone, just feel totally wiped and a bit shaky. My OH looks rougher than me. I was not a pretty site. For all those with scans today, mucho good luck

TryDrawing · 05/04/2013 09:22

Best wishes to you for this morning Aoife hope your gp is thorough and reassuring.

shooting it made me sit up when you mentioned St Mary's. that's where I had dd and will hopefully be having this one, too! Dh says the trick for your ball pit is to push and twist at the same time he often has unhelpful advice Grin

Vocalista86 · 05/04/2013 10:37

Aoifebelle thinking of you, I hope the Dr can give you some good news, perhaps you need lots of rest?

pop Yes, I've had several, you need to have an empty bladder, thats really important. They fon't feel pleasent, however they are the best way to see things early on. I found that I had a small bit of cramping after each one.... hope it goes well today.

13loki · 05/04/2013 10:57

Aoifebelle sorry, I missed your post. Hope the doc has a simple explanation for you xxx
pop Good luck with the scan

Vocalista86 · 05/04/2013 11:34

Is anyone else finding they have to eat to stop the morning sickness? I am going to get so fat!!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 05/04/2013 11:39

Thanks drawing will try your. Dh's advice later!
Yes vocalista eating little and often is the key. I fun the best things are really plain stuff- ready salted hula hoops are my staple or toast. I was the size of a house last time so expect the size of a small row of houses this time round!

FluffyDucky · 05/04/2013 13:22

I've been lucky so far & only had a little nasuea, I try & nibble on a dry cracker which seems to help. However, its very early days yet....Confused

TakingTheStairs · 05/04/2013 13:36

A little bit of nausea here. It's fine until I get hungry, and then I go from quite hungry to feeling sick very quickly.

OP posts:
kyz1981 · 05/04/2013 13:56

Nausea has certainly hit me in the last 3 days - and I have the most horrid taste in my mouth. I am finding drinking really hard as most drinks make me feel awful, lemonade and soda water seems to help the best.

This morning I opened the fridge and saw a cucumber and that sent me running to the loo, everything is setting me off at the moment. Even waking up at 2-3am feeling sick. Its def much worse on an empty stomach.

TakingTheStairs · 05/04/2013 14:28

oh kyz you poor pet :(

Aoifebelle · 05/04/2013 14:37

Just back from the scan. It wasn't conclusive. Either a MC or my dates are out and it is an earlier pregnancy that I thought, as it looks like a normal early pregnancy. They have taken bloods to measure HCG, need to go back on Sunday to see if it has doubled. So begins nervous waiting. I feel a major house clean coming on.

Can I just also say I LOVE the NHS. 9am, went to GPs, 11.45 appointment with GP, 1.30 appointment with the EPU, out by 2.30 with the best follow up, being seen again over the weekend. Everyone I met was very professional.
