Yes Orbis I definitely had the superhuman sense of smell first time round. Didn't have much dizziness last time (except the day I fainted on the tube and caused delays on the central line.. whoops!!) but having more dizziness this time, tiny bit of nausea so far.

SorryMyLollipop · 03/04/2013 22:38

I also have dizziness and a very enhanced sense of smell, I could smell my dog weeing from 100yds away - yuck.

Also very sore boobs, sickness/nausea and a mild period pain feeling.

HTH Smile

TryDrawing · 04/04/2013 00:29

Grin at shooting 's dh. My dh is also very pleased with himself, having "got a bullseye on the first attempt" twice now.

I will just be very very relieved to make it through the anomaly scan. Not in a great frame of mind right now as there is a strong possibility of heart problems in our family. Dd is fine, which is reassuring but I find it hard not to worry. Obviously the (crazy pregnant lady) hormones are not helping!

Glad you guys have mentioned dizziness, I've had a bit the last few days but didn't think to put it down to pregnancy. Just waiting for my super sense of smell to kick back in. Last time I had to go hide in a cupboard whenever anyone in my office had coffee - smelled horrendous!

OrbisNonSufficit · 04/04/2013 07:12

TryDrawing I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, that's an awful thing to have to worry about. I'm just panicking about what I'm supposed to not eat and wondering if anyone on the tube has cytomegalovirus and that's bad enough.

Has anyone else noticed they can't sleep after a big meal? I'm sure that my digestive system has stopped working properly...

Aoifebelle · 04/04/2013 08:22

Yep, my dh is very pleased with his spunk. I have to say I am too. At 38 I had assumed it would take a bit longer, but in his words he is a one shot wonder. Quite chuffed with my ovaries as well, they seem to have come through years of abuse and neglect pretty well. Can I be added to the list please. I am not telling very many people this time, so it will make it feel a bit more official. Excitement creeping up!

Aoifebelle · 04/04/2013 08:26

Hi drawing, I am also being tested for an inherited heart condition. Didn't matter that much to me until I started on the road to procreation. It certainly changes things. Hope all goes well xx

Gooseysgirl · 04/04/2013 08:45

Aoifebelle are you attending Homerton? I've been referred there this time... An also East London

Shootingstarsandcomets · 04/04/2013 08:59

drawing and aoife hope your worries turn out to be nothing.
Yes to the sense of smell going crazy too. I can smell everything and everyone! Horrid really, some people really need to wash more.
My boobs have gone from a dd to an e already Sad. I ended up an ff last time and everyone thought it must be fabulous but I hated it, I'm only a shortass and quite petite so once if lost my baby weight I just looked stupid with these enormous boobs full of milk. They never went down after my milk first came in until I stopped feeding ds. I treated myself I lots of new undies a few weeks ago to celebrate return to normal size and now they are too small again and out come the yukky maternity bras. Hey ho small price to pay for the end prize I guess.

Gooseysgirl · 04/04/2013 09:20

Haha Shooting... I also celebrated losing baby weight with three new bras a few weeks ago Grin They're already tight... What was I thinking!!!

TakingTheStairs · 04/04/2013 09:49

Morning everyone. I just spat water over my keyboard at all the DHs thinking they have supersperm! bahahah.

Congratulations FluffyDucky, OrbisNonSufficit, Jamina and Aoifebelle (Saturdays fan?)

TryDrawing I've had dizzy spells since the day of conception. They're starting to ease off now, only two or three a day Hmm and a ridiculous sense of smell. I walked into the office last week and asked who was eating cheese & onion crisps. It turned out someone had just walked through reception with an open bag of them a few minutes earlier and my colleague was wondering if I had developed super powers while out for lunch! So I've decided to keep my spidey sense nasal super powers to myself in case anyone guesses that I'm pregnant.

AND I had to go and buy two new bras yesterday. 5 weeks and I've already gone up a cup size to DD, and like you Shooting I'm not the tallest person in the world so am not impressed with the growth already.

Fingers crossed everything will be okay TryDrawing and Aoifebelle that must be very stressful for you both.
Orbis... now I have to worry about cytomegalovirus on to tube too! Thanks Wink

I'm waiting for my maternity comfy sleep bras to turn up today hopefully. Boobs feel like water filled balloons. Regular bras are still ok during the days so far but these 36f ladies need some help at night and round the house. Ordered these as they looked like they had more fabric than the others www.fromheretomaternity.co.uk/product/86/116/white-maternity-bra-by-carriwell

Terrified at how big these girls are going to end up!

TakingTheStairs · 04/04/2013 10:29

Sleep bras? Oh god, I'm going to need them too soon aren't I.
36F? Wow Lady you must have super strong back muscles.

OP posts:
Gooseysgirl · 04/04/2013 11:52

I have the opposite problem... I have tiny 34Bs and loved getting bigger boobs last time, much to my disgust they shrank right back down again afterwards

weechops · 04/04/2013 11:57

Ooh i forgot about the huge boobs! Im a 34E usually so ill be spending a fortune again on bras. Ah well :) was hoping my bikinis from last year might be ok for holiday but I'm thinking probably not. Do you think underwire ones would be ok for 2 weeks? I need the support cause the puppies are heading south after 2 children!

MildredH · 04/04/2013 11:59

I've heard this no-underwire business. What is the rationale behind it does anyone know? I assumed it would just be a comfort thing?

Shootingstarsandcomets · 04/04/2013 12:11

Something to do with blocking milk ducts I think mildred and damage to growing breast tissue. Think we are ok for a bit though. The maternity ones are definitely comfier though but not flattering. I've bought ds a pop up ball pit and popped it up and now can't fold it back down- aaaargh!

EnvioChick · 04/04/2013 12:16

Having only stopped breastfeeding 8 weeks ago, my boobs have only just settled down and I also went out a few weeks ago and bought some nice new 'normal' bras to celebrate no longer wearing pregnancy or nursing bras! Now in a few weeks Ill be back in the horrible things! Having said that, haven't noticed any growth so far so maybe Ill be ok for a while.

I think the no underwire thing is to do with the developing milk ducts and protecting them from the wire pressing on them too much.

Sense of smell is crazy at the moment. When I was pregnant with my son it wasn't too bad but I couldn't stand the smell of meat cooking. I have a cold at the moment but can still smell everything so strongly.

Had a small amount of bleeding yesterday and still have on and off pain so keeping my fingers crossed that blob is sticking ok. Dr appointment tomorrow. please please let me have an early scan to get a date and to make me feel happier.

MildredH · 04/04/2013 12:27

Haha that's great shootingstars.. Those flipping pop-up contraptions never want to 'pop down' again!

Reminds me of a tent DH and I bought for a trip with friends a few years ago ( we are NOT campers!). Popped up no problem but no buggaring way was it going back down. Had to abandon it by the bins in the end. That's our last ( and possibly final) camping experience!

Envio- hope you have success with the Dr. If you think you're 6 wks + they should agree.. I saw my gp after some spotting and he's doing serial bloods to make sure my HCG is doubling. This should also give you reassurance but obviously not a date..

Aoifebelle · 04/04/2013 13:20

Oh my lord the boobies. Am I supposed to abandon the underwire? I am pretty well endowed at the best of times (32FF), but I think they have officially gone off the chart. Caught myself in the mirror at pilates yesterday. Not good, I had the worse case of double tittage I think I have ever seen (on top of some pretty audible farting - not smelly thank god) . This pregnancy lark ain't pretty - when does the glowing bit start?

Good luck tomorrow EnvioChick. Please let us know how you get on.

TakingTheStairs · 04/04/2013 13:21

The underwires only do damage if the bra doesn't fit you properly and they dig into the milk ducts. So you can stay in underwired bras, but you will have to buy quite a few as you grow.

OP posts:
Aoifebelle · 04/04/2013 14:14

But I need the wires to hold them up! I might hire a small child or similar to hold them up for the next 8 months.

Vocalista86 · 04/04/2013 14:20

I am least looking forward to this bit of pregnancy, my mum's grew humoungously and never went back!

Though... at nearly 6 weeks, no tenderness or growth yet. Normal?!

TakingTheStairs · 04/04/2013 14:42

Aoifebelle I am not abandoning the underwire thing! No way. I had double boobs too at Pilates (which prompted a trip to Victoria's Secret!).
Though I wonder where you could hire a small child to hold them up, their poor arms would get very sore!

Fingers crossed EnvioChick good luck at your appointment tomorrow.

I have my first scan on the 15th, I'm so impatient, I want it now Grin

OP posts:
13loki · 04/04/2013 16:26

Ah, Aoifebelle I was a 32FF before my first pregnancy. They got bigger each time and never returned to their old size. Now a 32J! Was JJ at the height of breastfeeding. Hopefully they don't grow too much this time. I will need scaffolding rather than a maternity bra.

So, I went to the dentist to check if I had made an appointment instead of a midwife appointment. I did! The most annoying thing is this would make a brilliant Swedish lessons story, but it's too early to tell. So I guess I will call the midwife tomorrow to try to make an appointment.

Today we went and sorted our mortgage for the house we are buying next month! And popped to IKEA and found an armchair we ave been wanting for 65% off in the bargain corner.
