Pistachio, I think my recent experience has taught me never to assume the worst - try and rest, be kind to yourself and I hope everything goes well for you.

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone xx

I've been trying to explain to my 2 year old that there is a baby in my tummy. She keeps wanting to kiss my tummy bit then she insists that she kisses daddys as well so not quite sure how much she understands. It's very cute though. Went to the doctors today to get letter of referral to midwives on the go. Told family members today. All very thrilled.
Feeling quite good today. No sickness....just constantly wanting to snack. Completely different to my first pregnancy.
5 weeks tomorrow :-)

Dasie · 15/04/2013 19:40

Thinking of you Pistachio can totally empathise how awful this waiting will be for you Smile

inkymomma · 15/04/2013 19:46

Sorry to hear this #pistachio# I had a bleed with my last pregnancy and it just turned out to be a ruptured cyst

inkymomma · 15/04/2013 19:47

Sorry to hear this pistachio i had a bleed with my last pregnancy and it just turned out to be a ruptured cyst. Keeping fingers crossed all is ok

FluffyDucky · 15/04/2013 19:57

Bonkers, try 4head stick, I find out works well. Neck tension can have a huge effect, try to make sure your shoulders are not up by your ears!
Harry, I'm 6wks this week.

QuietNinjaTardis · 15/04/2013 20:04

Oh pistachio. Big hugs. Fingers crossed all is well.

QuietNinjaTardis · 15/04/2013 20:06

I've just been sick for the 4th time today and don't think there's anything left of what little I've managed to eat and drink inside me. I feel completely crap ad nothing helps.

featherbag · 15/04/2013 21:22

Argh, stress. Just attempted to tell my parents - DH has been off work today and is taking tomorrow too (I was meant to be in yesterday and tomorrow but have called in sick) but will have to go back on Wednesday, my DM looks after DS while I work but (of course) doesn't have him if one of us is off. So, I'm worried about coping with DS on Wednesday on my own - he's enormous (>16kg) and I'm still bleeding intermittently. Need to ask DM for help!

Called in to see parents at tea time - they're out. Try mobiles, both off. Finally discover they've gone hiking/for a picnic with aunt and uncle. DM rings back when she has signal again and I ask if she and dad will call in after they've dropped off aunt and uncle. They finally turned up at 9 with aunt and uncle. Fan-fucking-tastic, if I say anything in front of them my entire fucking huge and incredibly nosy family will know and all be ringing me within 10 minutes. So just gave mum the flowers I'd bought as a 'surprise!' softener and she got back in the car and left.

Had spent all afternoon building up to telling them, have been stressed to hell and now even worse, can't tell them tomorrow as by the time dad finishes work mum'll have collected 5yo niece from school and she holds a secret about as well as a sieve holds milk!

Say soothing things to me please!

LadyMedea · 15/04/2013 21:37

quiet I'm with you on the vomit train... My nausea and sickness has been slowly ramping up from copable to not so much.

I've got a strong anti vomit reflex due to years of vertigo. Means I just lie with a burbling stomach feeling like death. Just given in and been sick twice today.

7 weeks tomorrow. Hope this doesn't last too long.

Misspositivity · 15/04/2013 21:47

Hi guys. Is their room for a little one.

BFP this afternoon. EDD 23 Dec 2013

This will be our 2nd little one. Have a DD 20 months.

With a recent missed mc and history of bleeding in pregnancy I am very nervous but super excited too.

Keeping it really quiet this time and heartbreaking dissappointing everyone

Can someone add me to list. :-)))).

Congrats to everyone on their pregnancies.xx

PistachioTruffle · 15/04/2013 22:01

Thank you everyone for the handholding and support - trying to remain positive. Bleeding seems to have settled a little but having some mild cramping.
I'm just so worried Sad

OrbisNonSufficit · 15/04/2013 22:02

featherbag I think you should tell your mum during the day tomorrow then you can sort out Wed help and not have to worry about it. Just tell your mum you wanted to tell them both together but circumstances prevented, she'll understand. Then get your mum to take your niece outside or something while you tell your dad. I'm sure it can be sorted!

Hello and welcome misspositivity Smile

violetbean · 15/04/2013 22:22

Pistachio, hope everything turns out ok. Keeping fingers crossed.
Featherbag, wonderful news about the second twin, so sorry about twin 1. I told my mum about my bfp on the phone and that was fine!

I've been nauseous most of today. And have sore boobs too. Went to aqua aerobics for an hour which took my mind off both - was awesome. Can't do that all day though. Hmpf.

2nd doctor's appointment tomorrow, fingers crossed the test is positive this time...

musiceverywhere · 15/04/2013 23:29

Pistachio, so sorry to hear about the worrying time you're having. I really feel for you. Is there someone there with you? At least you have a plan for now, although I know scan must seem like an age away. Is this your first pregnancy? Fingers crossed and positive thoughts your way.
Miss Positivity (like the name!) I'm with you on keeping it quiet, I'm going to tell 1 person at work mainly to explain Drs appt.
I managed to get out the house for a bit this evening and it did help having something to distract me. Back to work on wed, so that should help also. Sleep well everyone x

Gooseysgirl · 16/04/2013 07:53

Feeling v deflated here... Told my DSis our news last night and she was in floods of tears, she has been TTC for over a year, she tried desperately hard to put a brave face on it and offered congrats etc. I feel absolutely terrible for her, I know if the situation was reversed I would also be upset.. it's hard not to be Sad Loads of her friends are pregnant or had babies recently. I just didn't know what to say... and made the fatal error of saying 'I understand' and then got 'how could you possibly understand?' and she's right, of course I don't because we conceived very quickly both times, we were incredibly lucky.
Also had a nosebleed last night (happened last pregnancy too), had forgotten this can happen!! A quick google revealed its hormone related in pregnancy

MildredH · 16/04/2013 08:27

Oh Goosey I feel for you and your dsis. She probably feels awful today for not being over the moon for you too.

I didn't have half as bad a time as many- 18 months TTC with a mc inbetween but before this positive I'd got to the point where I couldn't bear to be happy for anyone else. I have to say hearing the news is the worst bit- I think once it's sunk in & she's had a bit of time to process she will genuinely be thrilled to have a little Niece or nephew on the way!

PistachioTruffle · 16/04/2013 08:28

Feather, your story is amazing and I'm do happy for you! I'm really sorry about the other twin though.

musiceverywhere, thank you for your support. Yes, this is my first baby, had DH with me last night making sure I was ok. It does seem to have settled, and been mostly 'old' blood, so that's better although I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Gooseysgirl im sorry for your sister, it's an awful situation and life really isn't fair sometimes Sad It is really deflating, We ended up telling PIL last weekend (before the bleed) and they didn't seem as pleased as I had hoped, which makes me feel more awful.

TakingTheStairs · 16/04/2013 09:55

Morning everyone.
Ninja I'm really sorry to hear how ill you've been. That's really tough.
I had a giant snotty heaving sobs little cry yesterday as I'm fed up of feeling so rubbish and having to struggle through. Hopefully only another 5 weeks of it though (fingers crossed).
Though I did have my first scan yesterday which was wonderful. Dates were bang on, Twiglet is 6.5mm long and has a heartbeat Grin

Congratulations to the new BFPs Flowers

Hi if all goes ok EDD 03/12/13 and this is Baby number1! Had an early us last week due to pain and discovered a Cyst on my ovary as well as a heartbeat! Had a coupel of cramps the last few days which have got me worried and i dont feel as sick today! This is probably teh scraiest time of my life

MildredH · 16/04/2013 10:41

Hey Rylea

Found the following on the miscarriage assoc website this morning, should reassure you if there's been a heartbeat at early scan:

^Research has shown that if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks of pregnancy, the chances of the pregnancy continuing are 78%.

A heartbeat at 8 weeks increases the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks that goes up to 99.4%.

So things could still go wrong and sadly sometimes do, but as long as there is a heartbeat, the risk of miscarriage decreases as the weeks go by.^

Hope that helps.. I'm having an early scan at seven weeks tomorrow. Praying to see that heart flickering!

rylea · 16/04/2013 10:56

Hi thanks for that! Keeping my fingers crossed! Good luck with your scan x

Gooseysgirl · 16/04/2013 11:18

Thanks for that info Mildred, I'm having a scan done next Tues at 8 weeks, won't relax til I see that heartbeat fingers crossed
