Are you opting for private care then taking? Sorry- am SO very nosey!

featherbag · 15/04/2013 11:37

Erm, can I come back in?! Just been for scan - on one side of uterus is, as expected, a large area of bleeding, probably caused by MC. On the other side, heart beating merrily, is twin 2 clinging on! Have to have another scan next week to confirm growth, viability etc. but so far so good!

TakingTheStairs · 15/04/2013 11:37

OMG FEATHERBAG

That's AMAZING news!!!!! Hoorah!!!

I'm very sorry about twin 1, but delighted twin 2 is still there!!!

Mildred - lol, I dont' mind you being nosy! Yes, I am going private. I'm lucky that my work healthcare covers me for all private maternity costs.

Feather that's FABULOUS news! Grin

StyleManual · 15/04/2013 11:39

Oh congratulations featherbag! That's made me cry. You must be so happy. Well down little bean for clinging on!

featherbag · 15/04/2013 11:42

I daren't get too excited until next week's scan confirms all is ok, but it certainly looked ok!

featherbag · 15/04/2013 11:44

And thank you, I never thought 'strangers' on the Internet would mean so much!

TakingTheStairs · 15/04/2013 11:46

I know what you mean FeatherBag, and I know it sounds a bit odd but... I just texted my DH to tell him about your happy news because I was so pleased for you! (I had been keeping him updated on the ladies on our thread)

Oh that's lovely news featherbag, v pleased for you. What a rollercoaster this all is!
I was going to put off seeing GP for a couple of weeks (also don't think he'd see me anyway) but the anxiety is really affecting my sleep so I may see if he has any advice or suggestions to help me through the wait. Anyone have any ideas on how to relax?
Also we've decided we'll get a private scan at 8 weeks for reassurance.
Hope everyone well, and I know it's no fun but I'm actually quite jealous of you ladies with nausea Wink xx

weechops · 15/04/2013 12:02

featherbag I am so so happy for you :) So awfully sorry about twin 1 but wow twin 2 is some tough cookie! xx

kyz1981 · 15/04/2013 12:16

So pleased for you Featherbag x

Dasie · 15/04/2013 12:30

Welcome back Feather that is such great news for you!! Grin

TakingTheStairs · 15/04/2013 12:45

Music how many weeks are you? My nausea didn't kick in until about 5+3

OP posts:
MildredH · 15/04/2013 12:48

Me too.. Appeared overnight at 5 and a half weeks..

StyleManual · 15/04/2013 12:49

Threw away my breakfast and just fridged my lunch on the off chance I might fancy it later. Not been sick yet, but just can't face eating anything. Apart from a slice of cheese with a spoon of cough medicine, which was yum!

StyleManual · 15/04/2013 12:49

Oh and I must be 5 and a bit weeks, so that might explain the sudden nausea.

yogafan · 15/04/2013 12:50

Woop Woop feather and your amazing sticky bean! Just made me cry, so happy for you.
I really feel for you music, anxiety is horrible. A reassurance scan sounds like a good plan, but perhaps something to take your mind off the preg as well. Whatever happens is out of our hands really, and anxiety isn't helpful, just unpleasant. Try and let it go before an anxious thought takes hold (easier said than done, i know). Could you see yourself listening to a relaxation cd or something? I thought I might get my hypnobirthing cd out as I found that really useful last time round.

OrbisNonSufficit · 15/04/2013 13:14

Featherbag that's amazing news!! I'm so pleased you have a tenacious bean Grin.

Music same here, hardly any symptoms and I'm 5+4 (I think). Maybe something will happen this week. Anyway I have a GP appt on Wed to confirm my home tests are right... (although as DH pointed out, the absence of AF when I'm normally like clockwork is a bit of a giveaway, so I should actually be glad to have a non spew inducing bean, not worry bean is abnormal).

weechops · 15/04/2013 13:25

Orbis I have no sickness or nausea at all either. Felt sicky last week for a few days but that's been it. Only the sore boobs have me convinced I'm actually pregnant :)

CCake79 · 15/04/2013 13:40

Only posted once in this thread, so been trying to catch up! OMG, featherbag, what a rollercoaster! So pleased for you.

I've been feeling sick since the beginning of last week and am approx. 5 weeks now (have no idea as I only had one full cycle before positive test). EDD somewhere between 10-15 Dec! Can I be added to the list please...?

ccsays · 15/04/2013 13:52

Made a thread on pregnancy and was pointed in this direction, so I'll copy and paste:

Found out I was pregnant on the last day of my holiday about five minutes after putting out a fag, oh dear and am now almost five weeks, so early days. Thought I would be instantly over the moon, but spent the first half hour saying 'Oh my God' over and over whilst looking a bit boggly eyed. Thrilled now though, if very, very anxious. Trying to feel happy and to not obsessively google what could go wrong. Phoned the midwifery department of my local hospital and have my first appointment next Tuesday. Really shitting it excited! I'm 28 and DP is 31 and this will be our first, with a due date of December 18th.Moving into our new house as well in two weeks, so it's all go!

ccsays · 15/04/2013 13:55

Oops, apparently copying a pasting doesn't show the bits I'd scored through. Ah well, you get the gist.

TheBeanpole · 15/04/2013 14:13

Oh wow feather, that's brilliant. Congratulations.

I am 5+6 today. Still not really many symptoms (I thought I was going to drop off in a meeting this morning, but I think that might be because it was 4 hours long and not altogether fascinating rather than pg tiredness). I'm sure it will pop up at the most inconvenient moment.

Aoifebelle · 15/04/2013 14:44

I have been lurking on here, whilst hanging out in the creme egg thread. I am sooo thrilled for you feather. Your head must be all over the fricking place. Isn't the body an amazing thing! I am welling up good and proper. You must be over the moon.
