harry I'm excited and scared too. Lol. Even though I've already had one I'm still nervous. Been feeling a bit ropey. Suffering this time round with very bad headaches :-( different to my last pregnancy!

LadyMedea · 14/04/2013 18:31

bean sounds like a good plan... Three times to east Africa.... And I thought I travelled a lot!

inkymomma · 14/04/2013 18:32

madbanners how lovely to have them so close together! Awww they'll love being so close to each other

b0nker5Mum · 14/04/2013 18:58

Congratulations to all the new bfps...

Either I have the nasty vomiting bug or morning sickness has hit hard today... Hoping its the vomiting bug... Have bought ginger to try ginger tea and sea bands....

QuietNinjaTardis · 14/04/2013 19:00

Started being sick today. I feel so grotty right now. Am reminded why I hated being pregnant. Not having fun. Congrats to the new bfp. I was due 15th dec with ds and he was 3 days early in the end! I was worried about a Christmas baby too.

inkymomma · 14/04/2013 19:02

My daughter was 2 weeks late last time so in hoping thus one arrives on time. If its a week late it'll be a Christmas baby....2 weeks late it'll be a new years eve baby! Lol

Ganetgob · 14/04/2013 19:56

I'm worrying about having a Christmas baby too. I don't know why - it doesn't matter really!

I'm back at work tomorrow. Not looking forward to it at all. I keep having this vision of being sick over the entire class. That wouldn't go down well! No nausea yet, so sure it will be fine, but you never know!

Congratulations to the new people and I hope nobody feels too bad today :)

Soopermum1 · 14/04/2013 20:10

hi all. no sickness yet, apart from a one-off a couple of weeks back, but alternating between hunger and nausea.

had no symptoms with DS before, apart from needing to get up at least once a night to wee. unfortunately have got the same with this one. 4am on the dot and then I can't get back to sleep after that. am hoping this is temporary, at least the not getting back to sleep part, but probably won't be.

got a scan on Thursday to check all is well after bleeding. quite glad, really, am a but of an old bird and more nervous than before.

MildredH · 14/04/2013 20:27

Bit of a breakthrough here.. I'm as cynical as they come but DH bought me some sea bands yesterday. Not a complete cure but massive improvement on the 24 hour queasiness from before..

Highly recommend a try if you're struggling.. Opening the fridge still makes me gag though.. Sad

Cj1981 · 14/04/2013 20:38

Hi ladies, I think I have finally got my head around my BFP and am now popping in to say hiGrin

This is DC3 for me (edd 9 Dec) DD is 2.2 and DS is only 6 months old. The idea of 3 under 3 is absolutely petrifying but as somebody said to me when I was trying to decide what to do about the unexpected positive - you're unlikely to regret having another child but could well regret it if you don't! And anyway it's a great excuse to have a bit more time off work (my employers will hate me).

So far no symptoms which I'm gutted about as usually the first 3 months of pregnancy are the only way I don't end up resembling a hippo by month 9 but you can guarantee that I'd soon be cussing trying to deal with DD and DS if I did have my head constantly down the toilet! Anyhoo congrats to all those also expecting in December and Thanks to anyone whose journey has ended prematurely.

TakingTheStairs · 14/04/2013 21:05

mildred I'm a cynic too but if they help! Where did your DH get them?

OP posts:
MildredH · 14/04/2013 21:20

Superdrug taking.. About eight quid which is absolute daylight robbery for what resembles two hair ties with plastic knobbles on but.. I've eaten three proper meals a day since putting them on yesterday..

Let me know if they work! Maybe it's all psychosomatic!

inkymomma · 14/04/2013 21:23

They sell them on amazon for roughly five pounds for 2 of them. If my sickness is as bad as last time ill be buying some

Ganetgob · 14/04/2013 21:23

I use them for travel sickness and I like them - it might be all in my head though. Ill try them if I get any sickness!

They are a bit cheaper on amazon I think! Grin

Vocalista86 · 14/04/2013 22:18

I watched some documentary where they explained that it is all in the mind with the sickness bands, so that's eh I'm not going to try them even though I am feeling constantly nauseous :(

Congrats to all with recent BFPs Thanks

Leonas · 14/04/2013 23:28

We caved and told our families this weekend - mums and sisters are over the moon! Managed to hide my non-drinking at a wedding yesterday by always being the one to go to the bar so nobody else knew what I was drinking - between that and volunteering to be DPs single friend's ceilidh dance partner I still looked like I was joining in!
Is it normal to be completely exhausted, to the point I feel like I haven't slept for days? Not sleeping all that well but haven't felt sick yet so I should be glad for that!

FluffyDucky · 15/04/2013 08:18

Hellloooo nausea! Couldn't finish my toast this morning and thought I'd have to call into work. Still feeling quite green and woozy but going to attempt going in.
Blurgh!

Morning everyone,

Can I join?! I POAS this morning and I got my bfp (I had a bfn on Saturday which I didn't really believe, so I am glad I wasn't going nuts with my "feeling" that I was pg!). Quietninja I think I owe you, as I touched your fertility gods picture; think that must be it!

So far no major symptoms other than a bit of nausea and that feeling of being hungry but having no idea what to eat! Am obviously very excited and am therefore struggling to motivate myself to do any work as I am working from home today, so am likely to be on mn all day now...

DD is 3.1 and is desperate for a sibling but I think we will wait until 12wk scan before we tell her. Does anyone else have plans / recommendations on how and when to tell their DCs?

If someone could add me to the list it would be great:

Lisbapalea, EDD 21st December, Baby #2

yogafan · 15/04/2013 10:04

Congrats to the new bfps, and welcome.

My DD isn't quite 2, and only just beginning to talk, so me and DP have been talking quite openly about having a baby in front of her. Not sure how much she's taking in, she talks about babies quite a lot anyway. But maybe she gets it? Think we'll properly tell her after 12 week scan, before we tell everyone else

QuietNinjaTardis · 15/04/2013 10:09

Ha ha did you lisba? That definitely did it then!
My sickness bands worked ok when I was just nauseous but are not working at all now I'm being sick. Cannot open the fridge at all and I've just thrown up my breakfast. I have no idea what I'm going to do with ds if I need to be sick all the time. Any ideas for entertaining an active 3 year old while not straying too far from the bathroom?

lisbapalea · 15/04/2013 10:31

Poor you quietninja - does he like magazines?

I know they're ridiculously overpriced but when I am desperate I cave in and DD will occupy herself for a while with stickers and pen to scribble over the pages of a cbeebies mag! Or lego/duplo seems to keep them engaged for a while?

Failing that there's always the telly - I think you're allowed some extra help from TV when you're feeling sick!

TakingTheStairs · 15/04/2013 11:10

Morning all.
Poor you Ninjs, would colouring books help?

Welcome and congratulations to the new BFPs Grin There are so many of us now!
I have my first dating scan today - yay.
I'm meeting with a few different consultants so I'm going to end up having three scans this week!
