Ganetgob · 09/04/2013 22:41

No achey back for me I'm afraid. Nothing. Not a sausage. I'm a bit worried now. :(

FluffyDucky · 09/04/2013 22:54

I find I am quite thirsty and feel hotter, they may be linked. I am totally fed up of being constipated already! (Apologies if TMI)
But if I only feel knackered and thirsty (and bunged up) for the next 8 months I'll be a happy bunny!

PistachioTruffle · 09/04/2013 23:26

I have tender nipples, wearing a bra is agony and the band feels too tight already! I'm off tomorrow to find a couple of more comfortable bras. Apart from that, slightly increased cm and some very mild nausea if I go too long with without eating. And the bloat of course! 5+5 today.

QueenofWhispers · 10/04/2013 00:04

Evening Ladies, just checking in before I fall asleep. Thank you girls for helping me figure out how pregnant I am exactly. Such a set of life savers you lot are :)

I've been calling around for obgyns today to see who is available to deliver my baby. I'm quite worried about developing pre-eclampsia this time too, (been there and have the t-shirt).

Lots of love to all of you and your bumps. I'll look for my old pot of lanisoh, maybe it'll help these crazy nipples of mine. Before we know it, we'll be leaking nipple cheese. blargh. xx

OrbisNonSufficit · 10/04/2013 06:41

'nipple cheese'?? That doesn't sound good...

I'm a bit worried too now. Should I have more symptoms? Or is it just because I'm a week or so behind most of you? [frets]

PistachioTruffle · 10/04/2013 07:02

orbis, I think every pregnancy is different, mine are really quite mild so I'm sure if I wasn't thinking about it I wouldn't notice them. In fact, I was absolutely convinced I wasn't pregnant this month! It's very possible that nausea and sore boobs are just round the corner for you, or you may be lucky and get none Smile

MildredH · 10/04/2013 07:39

Orbis- i felt entirely normal one week ago.. This mostly developed Friday-Saturday.

Pistachio is right though- you may be lucky and escape.

weechops · 10/04/2013 08:09

orbis how far on are you? I'm only 4+6 and just have tender boobs. That's it! :) Hoping the whole pregnancy is nice and easy. Although memories of piles and constipation and heartburn makes me think probably not :)

QuietNinjaTardis · 10/04/2013 08:15

How far along are you ganetgob? With ds I got no symptoms at all til 6 weeks when I started throwing up violently. Some of my. Friends have had no symptoms at all. So don't worry.

13loki · 10/04/2013 08:25

Is it bedtime yet? I've been up 3 hours and I need a nap! Last night I went to bed before the kids, and I had had a doze in the middle of the day. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, especially with lunch duty - I just looked at the lunch menu and it's ham in a creamy sauce on jacket potatoes. Just the thought turns my stomach, let alone having to spend half an hour right by the food.

This morning I nearly vomited in the neighbours hedge. Brilliant. All the while, my 2yo was yelling out "What's that noise, mummy?" Well, darling, it's me trying not to be sick. I shouldn't complain, I knew I don't cope well with being pregnant. With both DC I had morning sickness to at least 28 weeks. Shock

plentyofsoap · 10/04/2013 08:36

13-hope you are feeling better and good luck with work tomorrow.
I am going to attempt to eat later, but I know I need to try and drink more. The sickness is worse than last time at least I know there is only one in there!Grin

DaisySwann · 10/04/2013 08:41

Hi! May I join? I got my bfp on Monday. This is my first time and am so excited! ( we've been trying for a while).
First Dr appointment tomorrow, feeling really nervous as I don't want anything to go wrong even though it doesn't seem real yet xxx

TakingTheStairs · 10/04/2013 08:46

Morning all,

Orbis up to 5+2 All I had was tender (large) boobs, thirstiness & tiredness, and BOOM at 5+4 the nausea kicked in. I haven't vomited properly yet but have had a bit of mouth sick a few times, but as FluffyDucky says, if this is as bad as it gets then I can cope with that Smile

13 Yikes, good luck with the lunch duty. Can you chew gum while on lunch duty? I find the mint helps me.

Queen who was your consultant last time? I'm meeting with five (I know I know!) consultants this week to see who I like best to deliver Twiglet.

OrbisNonSufficit · 10/04/2013 08:50

Thanks everyone, that makes me feel better. I think I'm 4+6 so I will enjoy the minimal symptoms while they last!

Gooseysgirl · 10/04/2013 09:42

Just booked a private scan for Tues 23rd when we'll be 8 weeks, can't wait! Going to Fetal Medicine Centre in London, went there for early scan with DD and found them great.

TakingTheStairs · 10/04/2013 09:48

Congratulations DaisySwann

Congratulations DaisySwann, I'm having baby #1 too and so excited. It all feels more real when a few symptoms kick in and you start to get booking in appointments etc through the post.

BTW has anybody got their little card for free dental/proscriptions yet? I've got a dental check up in a week and want to have the card by then but no sign.

harry78 - That sounds awful! - def relax for the rest of the day .

PistachioTruffle · 10/04/2013 12:33

Vocalista, you get the little card when you send off a form that your midwife or GP gives to you. If you've sent it off and haven't got it yet, could you see if they'll give you a receipt and get your money back when it comes? Worth a try.

Harry I think you deserve a nap after that Grin

I hate to admit this, but I have a slightly irrational fear that i'll get to the scan and they'll say there's nothing in there! despite POAS this morning again just in case and carrying a picture around on my phoneof the positive sticks to look at at will Please tell me it isn't just me?!

kyz1981 · 10/04/2013 12:43

PistachioTruffle - I have that - I think its totally normal to feel like that- I never really relax until I can feel the baby move.

weechops · 10/04/2013 13:00

Just back from the doctor to get the ball rolling with referring me to midwives :) I always feel a bit daft when he says ' and what can I do for you today' and I say 'im pregnant yay!' He is lovely though and was asking if Im keeping ok after the mc in January. So I should get a letter through in about 4 weeks with a booking in and scan date. Eep feels a bit more 'official' now

Ganetgob · 10/04/2013 13:24

I'm only 4+3, so plenty of time to feel awful! I did wake up feeling dizzy this morning, but no signs of anything else.

I hope everyone else is feeling ok today though :)

Being pregnant is a bit of a distraction really - I have 120 assessments and books to mark but I keep finding things to read on the internet! Surely now is obviously the best time to read about how to wean a baby!

So, can someone enlighten me, what happens at the first doctor's appointment (got that on Wednesday) and the first appointment with the midwife?

weechops · 10/04/2013 13:34

Ganetgob I think it differs from place to place. I'm Glasgow so the gp just asks which hospital id like to give birth in (there's 2 i could have potentially gone to) and said I'd hear from the midwives soon.
First midwife app is quite a long one for me as it includes 12 week scan and booking in together. So they take blood, weigh you, blood pressure and take all your details and give you lots of leaflets :) oh and a sample bottle to pee in before the next visit.
Some places do early booking in first though and then another app for scan at 12 weeks so yours may be different.

Ganetgob · 10/04/2013 14:00

Thanks weechops, thats really good to know. I didn't realise it might all be different. I'm in Stourbridge in the West Midlands, so I suppose I will just have to wait and see! I'm feeling a bit nervous about it, not sure why. Sure it will be fine!
