I got my BFP this morning and my EDD date is December 5th. Baby number 1.
Anyone else yet?

I'm having a bad day at work. My job is quite stressful and I just feel like I want to cry today...damn hormones. Helpful when working with a bunch of men. Think im just tired too. Can I start maternity leave now?!
(Of course my productivity is helped by being on MN)

Ganetgob In Stoke I didn't see the doctor first, I rang the surgery and they gave me the number for the community midwifery team to book myself. That was in 2010. In 2005 in Durham I went and saw the doctor and they were really dismissive "Well, that's nice, but you don't need to see a doctor, here's the midwife number, but don't bother calling for a few weeks"

Are you a teacher, too? I bought home a pile of assessments that I should have marked about 3 weeks ago for my 2 days off (I'm part-time)but I have napped both days when DD has napped. Now I will have kids whinging tomorrow.Unless I can mark a class set of two pages of notes about renewable energy choices in an hour!

I am a teacher, I teach secondary English. I hate marking, I think it has to be the worst thing about being a teacher! Are you back at school already? I've got until Monday.

Don't mark it! Say you have left it on your dining room table by accident, I use that one all the time to give me a bit longer!

This is your third pregnancy, isn't it? How have you found teaching when pregnant in the past? I'm worried about being sick and having to leave a class and just being tired really.

I just keep telling myself that all I have to do is get through the next 6 or so weeks until exams and then it will be a bit more chilled out after that! Then back in September, and I will probably go on maternity leave at October half term because when I go back it will be a couple of weeks until the Summer holidays! Best time to have a baby, eh?

I had my GP appointment today and think I'm due 13th December. This will be baby number 2, as I already have a daughter who will be 2 in June.

Me too Weescottie, I had a horrible stressful day. Nearly cried about 3 times because I was angry about my bosses boss being a complete shit to me in a meeting this morning, and it turns out that being pregnant is not dissimilar to mild permanent pms re crying at things you're normally not remotely weepy about. I had another meeting with him this afternoon and I think he felt bad for being such an irrational grump because he was really nice to me. Everyone please reassure me that I'm not giving the bean a mood disorder with all of the stress!

It sucks doesn't it!
Can't wait until people know I'm pregnant so at least I have an excuse, rather than them thinking I'm mad. I may have to leave my phone at home tomorrow as I'm totally distracted and constantly looking up pregnancy things I really don't need to right now!

Got my BFP last Wednesday and have been lurking for a bit and have just plucked up the courage to say hi on this thread.

EDD 13th December - Christmas is going to be a bit different this year!

This will be my second baby - have a DD who is 8 .

Still a bit wary of this whole pregnancy business as me and OH had been trying for 2 years so didn't think it would happen ! Had just been referred for testing then this BFP out of the blue!

Sorry about your bad day orbis - I get weepy at the silliest things at the mo, but it sounds like you had every right to be angry. I'm sure our beans are too busy (and small) to do anything other than develop placenta etc, no likelihood whatsoever for thinking about mood disorders!

Thanks for adding us to the list ladyg - my last pregnancy felt like the world's most excruciating long wait. I hope I can relax and enjoy this one a bit more... That said, the past week has been hilarious - I got my bfp on April Fools Day, went to the doctor a few days later and got 2 negatives (as it was so early). I had to wait another week for a second appointment (today) and thankfully got bfp. Phew!

It's starting to sink in a bit now, but would kind of like to tell a few people to make it feel more real.

Bluegh.. Nausea central still here. Really fancied Chinese so persuaded DH we should have an impromptu date night- it's all sitting very heavy in my stomach now..

Omg Orbis you just reminded me of a day at work last week where I got my self more & more wound up by the second, damn mood swings! I work in a well known high street chemist, I thought I was going to scream with silly questions!

I accused DH of farting earlier, it turns out it was the cold cooked chicken he was eating that I could smell

I know fit many of us it is early days & it wont be for a number of weeks until a bump starts to show, but has anyone got an idea of when to start using cream/bio oil etc.. on their tummys &/or boobs?
