Oli, I have pj bottoms from fat face that are somewhere in between normal pjs and the grandad style ones- they have buttons and drawstring at the front, but an elasticy bit at the back. See here: m.fatface.com/fatface/product/detail.do?categoryId=2574972&itemId=40113
Mine are really comfy, got them for chrimbo and am still comfortably wearing them now (despite giant middle!).

Good tip re sainsburys bras. Will have a little look there tomorrow.

Have had a productive day today. Whooping cough jab done (lying on my side now uncomfortable), visited elderly nan for lunch and baby gossips, went for spd physio and have been issued with a giant tubi grip and spd belt to experiment with. Also, checked the bank and my £760 repayment of ppi from 7 years ago has gone in, 3 weeks earlier than expected - hoorah! Have ordered my uppababy vista from john Lewis, and even gone crazy and splashed out on next day delivery. Can't wait to get it now!

Olimoss · 11/04/2013 20:06

Oh nice one, thanks Mawg! Will take a look....there's a FatFace not far from me.

AlohaMama · 11/04/2013 20:40

not that geriatric then oli!!

Had an interesting day at work yesterday. I figured I needed to tell my boss that a) I wasn't going to work till the morning I went into labour like last time and b) I may not come back to work after. All a bit awkward as I only really have to give 2 wks notice, and our plans are still up in the air, but I knew that this could change things for team planning. My boss was under the mis-aprehension that me and 1 colleague could easily plan a 3 wk fieldwork trip from another island in 1.5 months by ourselves, despite the fact that I can't really carry heavy equipment/pack/work on maintenance without help. The fact that I started crying made things even more awkward Blush but at least convinced him I wasn't feeling quite myself! Anyway good news is the fieldwork is cancelled/postponed so at least I'll have an easier time over the next few months, and I think that means I'll finish work 10th June so only 8 wks to go!

MrsBri · 11/04/2013 20:43

Hmmm...I think you all had brutal nurses giving your whooping cough jabs as I had mine yesterday and, apart from a little discomfort when DH pressed against my arm this morning, I've had no pain or discomfort. The same nurse did my flu jab too and I didn't have pain then either. He's clearly a talented bloke :-)

Learner, I'm glad you got some drops sorted.

And, Sarah, yay for a giant jaffa cake!!

I may investigate the Sainsbury's bras, thanks for the heads up.

I've not got dressed today. Lazy!

Sunbeam18 · 11/04/2013 20:54

Oli, you're a baby - I'm 40.

RueDeWakening · 11/04/2013 21:25

Thanks for the Figleaves code, have just bought myself 3 new nursing bras (to replace the 6-year-old ones I had for DD and DS Shock), it came just at the right time!

I've got my whooping cough jab in the morning, I'm just hoping I don't react to whatever preservative they put in it - I normally react to flu jabs so I'm not holding my breath. Will be grumpy(er) if my arm ends up painful, itchy & swollen like normal.

It might be just me, but I'm suddenly really struggling - breathless ALL the time, achy, tired but can't sleep, moany and it's not nice. Not sure if it's the fact it's the Easter holidays, the day out at Peppa Pig World yesterday, or just being 32-weeks plus with an outsize baby. Harrumph. Still, less than 6 weeks to go thank goodness!

Olimoss · 11/04/2013 21:27

Sunbeam - all the same generation!

ella0 · 11/04/2013 21:43

Littlemiss, I got the same bras last week! I've bought Bravado nursing bras from John Lewis for once the baby's here (they stretch and shrink to accommodate different sizes), but my normal bras finally became too uncomfortable to wear and I didn't want to pay a lot for bras I'll only wear for 8 weeks or so. I normally go for moulded bras (not padded, but not thin material) but I had to go for the unpadded ones as I tried the padded ones and they didn't feel anywhere near as comfortable and they made my chest look weird. They're very comfortable.

MrsBri, I had no pain or discomfort from the whooping cough jab (or flu jab) either. I was expecting some as I had the dip/polio/tet jab only a couple of years ago and had read it can mean you will feel more discomfort, but I was pleasantly surprised.

pinkapples · 11/04/2013 22:05

It has just dawned on me for real that I am having a baby!!!! Ahhhhh meltdown

MrsBri · 12/04/2013 07:07

I know, pink, scary isn't it?!

Had my first birth dream last night...it wasn't entirely realistic, but it was a quick labour and a boy. :-)

So glad it's Friday today. Work stresses me out. :-/

DontmindifIdo · 12/04/2013 08:17

oh god, I'm having the "shit, i will have two DCs soon!" panic. That and have said this weekend we have to actually stop the baby's room being hte junk room, put those boxes that are for the loft in there actually in the loft, get down all the baby clothes so I can start washing them etc.

I've just make a decision about next wednesday - as it's Thatcher's funeral, I think I'm going ot use my last holiday date left and book the day off rather than try to commute into London - are any other London working ladies on here taking the day off? I didn't get a seat either way on the tube on Wednesday and it just struck me, even if the expected trouble is contained, there's going to be a large number of people coming in to watch the funeral and the train and tubes are horrible enough at rush hour anyway. Plus in the past when there's trouble/protest, the police have shut tubes and made people walk longer distances, I'm not sure i'll be able to do that...

Still feeling rough here Hmm got into bed at 7:30 last night and didn't leave it! To make matters worse looks like DH is also coming down with a lurgy. Sorry but have no energy left for sympathy! Have two kids at home today too so hoping I perk up soon!

Redwelly I have some v comfy black yoga pants from mothercare.

redwellybluewelly · 12/04/2013 09:31

Dontmind I would ask to work from home rather than take leave - you have to put your wellbeing first, but I wouldn't be commuting into work on Wednesday if I used London transport.

learner thanks for the tip - I'll go look tomorrow afternoon (I've 'booked' a shopping half day!)

Sarah2506 · 12/04/2013 11:49

don'tmind depends where you work I think. I get on at Barnet, train to Kings Cross and then walk to Holborn. Funeral doesn't start until 11 and so I wouldn't anticipate it making a huge difference to my journey. Funeral will go by my office around 1130. As I already work at home a couple of days a week I figure I can't take even more! Why on earth aren't you getting a seat though? I just ask if people don't see me. Not that they can easily miss me....

DontmindifIdo · 12/04/2013 13:19

oh, don't get me started about the debarkle on Wednesday for a seat - on the way home, both 'priority seats' already had pregnant woman in them. One of said pregnant woman went to stand up for me as I'm obviously further along than her - I told her to to be silly, she then asked everyone else if they'd give me a seat and they all said no or ignored her! At this point, both she and other pregnant woman started arguing with the others sat down, until someone went to stand up, but by this point it was Southwark and I get off at London bridge (next stop) so I said not to worry, I'd done my journey now in a suitably annoyed voice. (on the way in, the tube was so crowded I was just able to squeeze in by the doors, not get anywhere near the seats to actually ask anyone/flash the bump whilst looking pitiful).

Basically, there are some real cunts in the world, and a large percentage can be found on public transport during rush hour.

I think the biggest problem will be if there's a lot of people going to line the route a lot will want to get there early so will be travelling in at normal rush hour times, but because I've got to drop DS before work, I won't be able to go in earlier to avoid crowds... Although will lots of people want to go pay their respects?

Hmm, will have a little think. It's amazing how much more vunerable I feel now, I really haven't cared before when there's been riots or protests happening near our office (at the last anti-capitalist one we had the windows on the ground floor of our building smashed, we're right by Green park so tend to get the ones who want to target the Ritz - which is boarded up at the first sign of trouble so we're a nearby easy target)

I have a foot in my ribs - anyone any suggestion or opinions on whether I can crawl under my desk for downfaced dog to get the bugger beautiful baby to shift a bit?!

Sarah2506 · 12/04/2013 14:04

Oh my God!

I have never heard of such a tale! I thought standing up for a pregnant lady was just what you did, without discussion. I was offered a seat on a full to bursting point train home from the lakes when to do so was to offer to stand for 2.5 hours. Amazing.

So in the circumstances work from home. How horrendous!

RueDeWakening · 12/04/2013 14:37

Dontmind: I'd definitely be trying to work from home that day. I'm not too surprised though - with DD, it took until my very last week at work for me to be offered a seat on the tube, and that was only because another lady shamed someone into offering it. This was no small reason why I gave up work at 32 weeks!

News for people who've had their whooping cough jab and ended up with an achy arm: the nurse this morning said that if I'd had a recent tetanus booster, it would probably react and I'd end up with a sore arm, but that since mine was 10 years ago I should be fine (and it is...so far!). Also that since it was only a child's dose, it didn't count as an actual tetanus booster and any relevant injury would still need the normal tetanus jab as well.

Apparently it's because we're being given the normal kids tetanus, whooping cough & diptheria vaccine (that they get as a baby and at ?12 months I think) as it's the only one licensed for use with WC in it.

AmIGoingMad · 12/04/2013 15:24

Hello everyone! I've just managed to catch up on the week's posts after a week of rubbish chest infection for me and ear and throat infection for DS- the joys! We're both on the mend now tho thankfully. I envisage feeling better just in time to go bk to work on mon after a holiday of illness!

Congrats to your sister maw!

And good luck to those of you having c section battles. It's true that the NICE guidelines seem to say we have the choice but the reality appears very different Hmm

I have however managed to get some stuff cleared via eBay over the last week or so. Still a long way to go til we're baby ready tho. And dontmind- I've been having that 2dc panic too!

DontmindifIdo · 12/04/2013 16:10

Well, just heard from HR, they aren't going to approve working from home (because everyone will want too) so I e-mailed back and have the day off. Will try to be postive about it and get DH to get some stuff down from the loft this weekend and I can spend the day sorting through it.

Have been to the midwife this afternoon, DS was very excited to hear the baby's heart. He was very sweet. He's going to tell Daddy all about it tonight apparently...

pinkapples · 12/04/2013 16:35

Awww dontmind how sweet Grin shame about the working hours tho Sad

I've got my baby shower tonight which I am looking forward to, my mum asked my grandma to go get some balloons tho and she bought 4 plain blue ones (we're team pink but she was asked to get 4 different colours) moral of the story if you want a job doing do it yourself Grin

AmIGoingMad · 12/04/2013 17:21

Enjoy pinkapples! Smile

Littlemissexpecting · 13/04/2013 09:16

Pink hope you enjoyed your baby shower.
Anyone got anything nice planned for today?
DH is working so I'm planning a chill out day, once I've done a few bits around the house. Might pop to shops for something nice for dinner. Very exciting!!! Weather is lovely and sunny here for now but forecast heavy rain later.
Thursday night I was up most of the night with heartburn, last night I was up with leg cramps, so afternoon nap may be required.

SunnyL · 13/04/2013 09:23

Hellooooo from the outer Hebrides. Holiday is going marvelously. Dog walking, snorkelling, eating body weight in fresh seafood etc etc.

Just a quick note to say my neighbour is featured on the daily mail Femail site for a baby product she and her mate have invented called Neckerteeth. Basically its a bib with a built in teething thingumy. Cant work out how to post the link but take a look and buy one! She's due 10 days after me and has just been made redundant so i really hope this venture works.
