Aloha I know what you mean re visitors. I'm only having folks for 2 days max at the moment but still seem to end up in bed for an hour each afternoon to cope with it.

I had a word with DH yesterday along these lines about his parents visiting the new baby. Said I was more than happy for them to come up but I didn't want them staying in the house until baby was at least 6 weeks old. He had offered them to be house guests as soon as I got out of hospital. I pointed out there is a B&B roughly 200 metres walk away. I love his parents and they really do help out - last week I slept in and came downstairs to his mum doing my dishes and his dad putting my bin out after having walked my dog. But I really really don't want to feel the need to be a hostess when I've just pushed a baby out of my fanjo!

pinkapples · 09/04/2013 09:15

Sparkle I felt like that at our 3D one hehe was hoping for a cute one and wow was she cute Grin fingers crossed for a beauty GrinGrin

Nursery furniture was meant to be delivered between 9-11am this morning which my boss did not appreciate as we have loads of staff shortages however they got to my house at 8.30am and I obviously wasn't there grrr then had to go home straight away when they phoned and now they are saying that my room is to small as they need to assemble it in the room grrrr Hmm I've told them to assemble what they can and hubby will finish off if he needs to having it decorated on the 23rd so hopefully ill be able to move it out of the room for them to do that

learnermummy · 09/04/2013 09:33

Littlemiss I had GTT just because previous baby was big. All fine though.
My whooping cough arm was only sore for a couple of days but really felt like I'd been punched in the arm.
Really tired this week but off work so am lying on sofa while DS1 plays on the wii (bad mummy Hmm).

Pink and sparkle, agree baby suddenly looks like a real baby in the later 3/4d scans. I still look back at ds's and wonder if I can recognise his face in the scans!

pinkapples · 09/04/2013 17:51

Grin I know I've framed one of our pictures as my sister bought me a hey diddle diddle nursery rhyme frame and I've been staring at it for months so now its got that picture in until she comes then we'll swap hehe

As my husband so dutifully said yesterday to me though "you know sweetheart in 11 weeks it will all be over" ahhhhhh Confused

cyclecamper · 09/04/2013 17:56

I had the glucose tolerance test because I am so old (42). I also see the dr once a month as well as the normal midwife appointments, I think for the same reason, although I have been pretty lucky really - no major problems except aches and pains and totally debilitating exhaustion.

MrsBri · 09/04/2013 20:17

4 and 3D scans aren't really my thing...some of the ones I've seen look really scary! Though some are cute, admittedly. I think that not knowing the sex also puts me off as I don't want to work it out!

And I had another failed attempt at booking my whooping cough jab today. The surgery has run out of vaccine! I think it was easier to break the Enigma code :-/

Baby B keeps making attempts to go head down and failing to stay there...problem child already!

Really uncomfortable today with how baby is sitting. Any tips for shifting him a bit?

pinkapples · 09/04/2013 20:21

Don't know about shifting baby mines head down apparently as midwife said today maybe jump up and down a bit might help gravity along

pinkapples · 09/04/2013 20:24

Oh and forgot to mention for those ladies who are daunted by the hospital bag thing you can get brand new ones with tags on eBay pre filled I've just bought mine for £25 with everything I'd probably forget hehe Grin obviously you'd need to add in your own pjs and slippers etc but all the essentials are in there and the one I bought even included a brand new pack of 27 nappies and wipes Grin

forgetmenots · 09/04/2013 20:27

Are you allowed to post a link pinkapples? Sounds fab!

AlohaMama · 09/04/2013 20:30

Nice one pink. Shame you can't buy an 'everything you need for baby' bag! I dutifully packed my bag last time following my sisters advice, then got to hospital to find out that here they give you everything, plus extras to take home (I guess that is why we pay ludicrously expensive insurance). Will pack lighter this time. Never got round to listening to music anyway. I do remember enjoying the lollipops though so I'll pack those again.

Sarah2506 · 09/04/2013 20:44

Well I can confirm that a 31 week check with the GP is as per MW visit. When he buzzed me I went down to his room to find him desperately searching for the doppler! Heart rate good, baby head down, towards the left with her feet towards the right. Wonder if she will stay there now?! He made me smile by just reaching out to whip up my jeans to check for swollen ankles! Whopping cough was fucking painful though. Still hurts hours later!

Just type in hospital bag on eBay and they come up ill attempt a link Grin

pinkapples · 09/04/2013 22:08

shop.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/searchresults;PdsSession=f09db81213d0a47a19967e36fff54e8e?kw=Hospital+bag&cmd=SREF&fads=All&call=All&sort=BestMatch&mfs=GOCLK&acimp=0&isNewKw=true

The app on iPhone is easier to use and not sure it's the right link as I am on the phone not a proper computer Grin but if it doesn't work will give it another bash in the morning I bought a purple floral one (the picture has 3 bags you can choose) and it was £25 with £6 postage with everything

forgetmenots · 09/04/2013 22:09

Brilliant pinkapples, thanks, I must have been doing something wrong! This is great :)

Mawgatron · 09/04/2013 22:46

Excellent, will get on to amazon now!

Anyone else got the first trimester tiredness back with a vengeance? I was asleep before the end of the six o clock news today!

On a different note, just found out my older sis is preggo too! Woo hoo! (First babies for both of us).

redwellybluewelly · 09/04/2013 23:20

I looked at those bags last time but came to the conclusion it was cheaper to make my own. Especially with maternity pads 10p each in Boots and their breastpads weren't a bad price either. I also like my own shampoo and home comforts but a baby bag with the guaranteed correct size clothing would be ace!

Maw yes. Third trimester has hit hard now and I'm unsure quite how the hell I'm going to get to my mid May research deadline!

redwellybluewelly · 09/04/2013 23:21

Stupid phone.

Congratulations to your sister! What will the age gap be?

MrsBri · 10/04/2013 03:10

Ooh, congrats to your sister, Maw :-)

I have insomnia. Joy :-/

forgetmenots · 10/04/2013 03:19

MrsBri · 10/04/2013 03:23
