Oh another vetoed name was Felix. Ones I vetoed were Thomas, Oliver, charlie, Benjamin and Russell (mainly because we already know kids with those names).

Evening ladies...shiv sounds like you're getting fab support. mightbe i felt the same as you when I found out I was having a boy last time (now trying to get my head around having a girl!). We named ds Nathaniel but shorten it to Nate...mainly so he has a proper name for when he's in trouble Grin. We struggled to find a name that sounded ok both down south & up north (we're from Glasgow originally). So that name fitted the bill. I loved Sebastian (Seb) last time too but DH vetoed that.. Took us til DS was 6 hrs to decide in his name..

We had a girls name for last time (Amelia Catherine-Catherine was my mum's name-she passed away when I was 19). I like both names but now thinking Amelia is quite well used now (hope I haven't offended anyone)...still time to decide tho I guess.

This baby is super active today...DH got a fright when he got a boot earlier as he was feeling my tummy.
Soo looking forward to this long w/e...sis is coming down to visit, so looking forward to a good catch up with her...& getting her to do her aunty duties in getting up early with DS Grin.
24wks tomorrow-will be doing a viability dance 1st thing!

Thinkingof4 · 28/03/2013 22:08

shiv glad the scan went ok, hopefully minishiv will have a wee spurt in growth before next scan

Re names our options are all Scottish names so probably not ones most people would consider. We don't have any definite choices yet anyway

Anyone getting braxton hicks yet? I've had such a busy day and am sure I had some this evening. Probably not had enough to drink today, I think that probably makes it worse. I'd forgotten about those horrible tearing feelings you get sometimes after sitting a while. Youch! Baby still like a little jumping bean though Grin

On phone again so not able to do more messages

cantreachmytoes · 29/03/2013 05:58

Wow! I've FINALLY made it back, only missed 4 threads!

Glad everyone seems to be doing well.

I'm about to move countries and exhausted a lot of the time. Have an 18-month old which isn't exactly conducive to good sleep or rest times in the day and I've been advised to lie down when possible (except it isn't really possible a lot of the time!).

Having a girl too.

It's a while back on the thread, but wanted to add myself to the camp of labour being one of the best experiences of my life, eclipsed by seeing baby of course, but it was great (I did end up with forceps to turn baby, but no episiotomy and minimal tearing). I didn't read ANYTHING beforehand because didn't want to have any expectations that I'd fail to meet. I later read Ina May and essentially had birthed in the way she recommends, without planning it. REALLY looking forward to doing it again!

Was overdue last time though and that was AWFUL! This time I've told people a date a week or so later than the real due date, just in case! Wink

Will try to keep up with the thread again now that I've found it, but unlikely to be able to comment much over next few weeks as things will be even more hectic than they are already!

cantreachmytoes · 29/03/2013 05:59

Oh and 23+3!

dinkystinky · 29/03/2013 07:38

Welcome back Cantreach (bet you really can't reach those toes now) and congrats on the pink bump. Sounds like life has been uber hectic for you - hope the move goes smoothly, dd settles in quickly and you get some rest amidst it all. We moved into a temporary flat when ds1 was 18 months and it amazed me at how well he took it in his stride. Hopefully your dd will too. Have moved 3 times since with works to our house and he has been great each time - ds2 not so much!

Thinking - I have been having bra ton hicks for a while but they seem to have abated for now. I think the cold makes them more noticeable.

SlouchingPanda · 29/03/2013 10:10

We haven't started thinking of names officially yet but I am mulling them over in my mind to be vetoed by DH at a later date. Boys are tricky but I adore Gabriel and Felix. Girls a little easier but I am not keen on overly frilly girly-girly names. And our surname starts with 'a' so names ending in 'a' sound a bit clunky.

Glad you are in good hands, Supershiv.

ThinkingOf4 I am certain I am getting braxton hicks. Sometimes the whole bump goes hard for a minute or so - seems to be worse when I need a wee.

And welcome back Can'tReach! There are a lot of AWOL July-ers so good to hear you are well!

25+1

PS: There is now a DECEMBER thread! Our babies will be 5 months when theirs are born Shock!!

shelley72 · 29/03/2013 14:04

ooh we are getting close now, people are talking names Smile.

i find girls names VERY difficult, persuasion has listed two of my boys names that i like - henry and william. not sure will get to use them as have an inkling this little bean may be a girl. i was wrong last time though so who knows! DD was almost an emilia (sometimes wish she still was as really doesnt suit her name). DS was almost a charles (charlie) but so didnt look like it when he was born. i wasnt sold on his name for ages but actually he quite suits his name now and though its more popular than it was oddly they are not overrun with them at school.

decorating still going very SLOWLY - DH bless him building wardrobes as i type. best go and make him a coffee, keep him working...

keep coming with the name suggestions, im sure between us we will all come up with something in the end!

elliejjtiny · 29/03/2013 14:29

Welcome back can'treach and congratulations on the pink bump. Thinking I've been having braxton hicks since 13 weeks this time (I find they start earlier with each pregnancy) but they've got stronger recently.

Just realised that as I'm 26 weeks today I've only got about 14 weeks to go, eek! Better try and knit faster if I want the blanket to be finished in time.

TotallyEasterEggFlipped · 29/03/2013 15:08

Welcome back cantreach. I hope the move goes smoothly. We moved countries with DD at 6 months and again at 15 months, then moved house (again!) at 16 months. The first move was awful - she'd just started to make a bit of progress settling for naps & bedtime and it all went to shit with the move. (she's never been a great sleeper). By 15 months she wasn't phased at all and I think she coped with the move better than DH!

Hope everyone's enjoying the long weekend. It's a lovely sunny day here. Might wrap up warm & head to the park this afternoon.

photographerlady · 29/03/2013 15:24

Hello ladies. I have my girls name, with three years of TTCing I had time to think about it heehee. I was hoping for a boy (silly I know) but little lady on the way which my husband guessed while he was always running out for gingerbeer and water biscuits from week 6-10.

dinkystinky · 29/03/2013 16:50

Sporadic sun here too Totally - nice to see the sun hasn't totally abandoned us. Wrapped up and went to London zoo this afternoon (we have annual membership as live 15 main drive away and the kids love animals) - the new tiger enclosure is brilliant! Saw lots of nutters and their kids wandering around without coats - and even some in shorts too! Just looking at them made me feel really cold.

Hello strangers! Catching up again after being bedridden with some virus, whole body ached for days. Still a bit peaky and supposed to be going on holiday tomorrow Hmm
Not much to add, we're still not decided on name, I had a girl name chosen but can't use that now! Saving it for the future Smile I like Sebastian as someone mentioned, so does DP, but don't think Seb is cute enough for a baby nickname... DP likes Henry but perhaps a little too royal seeing as I'm due the day before the (rumoured) due date of the duchess!

Guavasforbreakfast · 29/03/2013 16:57

Also have insanely itchy legs when in the shower or bath, occasionally at night too. Anyone else?
24+3 (was so ill I forgot to do viability dance, but little one is happily bouncing around in there so I'm hoping all is well!)

TomDaleysTrunks · 29/03/2013 17:37

Just popping in to wish everyone a lovely Easter break. Haven't posted for a while as been busy with shifts at work.
Bump is getting bigger, started my holiday shopping. I got some pink jeans in jojos which look great with a white top and pumps / sandals. All we need is the weather now. Bloody cold isn't it.
Getting intermittent hip/pelvic pain made worse by carrying DD around. We have hit the terrible two's hard this weekend. Finding keeping my patience very tricky.
Anyway better go and entertain madam. Hope all are OK.
22+6

TotallyEasterEggFlipped · 29/03/2013 18:38

Guavas
I think Seb is very cute. I knew a baby Sebastian when we lived in Ireland and thought it was a great baby name. There's always Bastian too. Or a nickname totally unrelated to his real name.

When is the Royal baby expected? I didn't know there was a rumoured due date more specific than July yet.

I get really itchy dry skin, but copious aveeno and baby oil seem to be keeping it under control.

Anyone else overdosed on hot cross buns today? [busmile]

dinkystinky · 29/03/2013 18:52

Guavas - sorry to hear you have been ill - hopefully after a good nights rest you'll feel well enough for your holiday. Have a lovely time. Also re itchiness - could it be a reaction to your shower/bath fuel? Sometimes sensitive skin develops in pregnancy. Maybe trying a hypoallergenic one like Totally might help.

Tom - this winter feels so long, I'm really hoping we get a nice long dry summer to make up for it.I find if you have the terrible twos, your toddler is really easy to deal with at 3 and beyond - ds2 was a terror at 2 but delightful at 3. Good luck!

Totally - yup lots of hot cross action going on in the dinky household. Also did the boys Easter egg hunt this morning as we are away in the new forest/Southampton over the weekend which was v cute (until the tears over who had the most/the biggest egg started!) - and then they did one for DH and I (still not entirely sure we found all of them - time will tell!).

Just been for a nice walk along the beach. The sun came out this afternoon, so despite it dumping snow this morning it almost seems like spring this evening. I say almost, there are still big clouds coming in from the north sea.

We have had a total failure on the hot cross buns front and DH has already broken into the mini eggs...

Thinkingof4 · 29/03/2013 19:08

I've had v v itchy bump last 2 days! Think it's just dry skin but so annoying! I can see all my old stretch marks appearing again too, how delightful!
Been at work today and noticeable lack of hot cross buns and chocolate! However got home to find my lovely childminder has sent some (home made) ones home with the boys so will be eating them tonight. Hope everyone has a good long weekend (for those who are not working) and enjoys some Easter treats on Sunday

Guavasforbreakfast · 29/03/2013 19:26

Thanks Totally, I've only known adult Sebs so hard to imagine, good to know it suits a baby too Smile We may yet have a Seb if I can peel myself away from Reuben (which DP is ok but not as excited about). I just love the idea of Roo as a nickname! Lots of people have said we'll know when we see him, I can't imagine a newborn 'looking like a...' Does this actually happen?

Very jealous of the hot cross buns, they were just on the one show and I really fancy one! Unfortunately DP is at work and I can't summon the energy to go and buy any, let alone make them.

Also thanks for itchy leg reassurance, as usual I stupidly turned to dr google and came up with obstetric cholestasis, cue mini panic. I really should ban myself from google altogether! Midwife said the same about hormonal changes and changing soap/moisturiser.

MightBeMad · 29/03/2013 19:53

Guavas, I get cholestasis. No need to panic even if it is that. Keep an eye on it, moisturise well and if it is still there (ESP in weird places like palms or soles of feet) tell your midwife or gp x

SundaySunshine · 29/03/2013 20:11

Hi cantreach nice to have you back and to hear all is well with you.

Have a lovely holiday Guavas, hopefully some relaxation will have you well on the road to recovery.

I think I'm going down with the lurg that's doing the rounds, feeling decidedly ropey today Sad. Still, did manage to get quite a lot done today (whilst lazy bones husband sat surfing the net all day Angry).

Oh very jealous of your walk on the beach abs sounds lovely, we only have estuary mud with a back drop of graffitied flood defences and the aroma of dog poo round here Sad .

I really like Rueben too guavas tho I'm pretty sure DH will veto it.

Oh for a hot cross bun! Will definately be on my shopping list tomorrow .

27 weeks today Smile

MightBeMad · 29/03/2013 20:27

Wow 27 weeks Sunday! We'll be entering the third trimester before we know it!

Guavasforbreakfast · 29/03/2013 21:16

Thanks mightbe, makes me feel much better!

Hope you escape the worst of it sunday, being ill whilst pregnant seems to take so much longer to shake off Hmm

iclaudius · 29/03/2013 21:34

GUAVAS!!!! What IS the rumoured royal due date???
