Haha saundy yes I enjoyed my retro feast! Planning on having the same at lunchtime if I can wait that long Grin

Saundy · 17/03/2013 10:27

Glad to read that harv but why wait I say!

Welcome gubb - totally normal!! At least others kids are making you smile, someone's toddler came up behind me in the Drs & started hitting me. I seem to see little nightmares everywhere I look so am moved to tears for quite different reasons Wink

Fairydogmother · 17/03/2013 10:27

Hi gubb and congrats!

SpanishLady · 17/03/2013 10:43

Congrats grubb!

I may be in the minority but I'm feeling sick pretty much all day and am delighted! i am also waking in the middle of the night with sickness have reverted to my old trick of eating a yoghurt to settle it so I'm like the r whites lemonade man (for those old enough to remember those ads) and sneaking downstairs at 3 am to eat but not wake anyone up. Have cravings for tuna and chocolate mousse.

still cautious but I'm happy as last pregnancy I had no symptoms and it ended in MC so it means something to me as to be sick is more reminiscent of my pregnancy with my son.

Re bras I'm hoping to be more organised this time as last time I ended up with no nursing bras as had planned to get them when I started my mat leave except my son came early so I had no mat leave per baby at all (still bitter!!!!!! Had planned a lovely few weeks on the sofa watching films!!!)

6+3 today

Saundy · 17/03/2013 10:56

When did the sickness start Spanish? Am happy it's happening differently for you this time & it's reassuring you.

I can't believe I'm going to ask this - really pushing the boundaries of TMI but this is a safe space so don't judge me!! Has anyone else's poo changed colour?! My diet hasn't particularly changed so am at a loss as to why with the sudden (& quite dramatic) change Blush

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 17/03/2013 11:00

saundy I love a good tmi question. No my poo is still the same colour but it is decidedly firmer.

Dh is on orders to pick me up a pregnancy friendly laxative when he goes shopping later. Dd and I are going to a 2 year olds birthday party. I feel crap and have a feeling a few people are going to figure out I'm pregnant (8 weeks tomorrow woo hoo).

Congrats grubb

Glad you are feeling sick spanish I'm the same. Don't like feeling sick but it's so reassuring Smile

MummaPanda · 17/03/2013 11:01

Morning everyone! And welcome newbies! Wow there are so many of us now!
Anyone else on dc2 or more, is your morning sickness worse this time around? Mine seems a lot worse, I didn't throw up at all last time but this time I seem to be hugging the loo every morning! Sad

suprisepitstop · 17/03/2013 11:23

Thanks so much for the bra advice and reassurance Vix, Harverina, ditty and Retro. im going to have a look today at the places you mentioned.

Welcome Miss T and Gubb. and congratulations!

Aw William i am completely with you. am totally freaking about the idea of finding between a grand and a grand and a half in nursery fees, which at a cursory glance seems to be the cost around here (west london) - i dont even live in a posh area.
The mind boggles, its the equivalent of buying one of two mulberry handbags every month - wouldnt that be nice? Need to figure out how the hell to do tjis, we dont have this sort of money. DH keeps telling me to chill out and that we will figure it out, but errr, not sure how!

SpanishLady · 17/03/2013 11:30

Nausea started as soon as I got pregnant the same as my son - it was partly how I guessed I was pregnant with him as was randomly throwing the weekend before my period was due and there was no reason eg wasn't hung over etc, but in partial answer to mumma's question I'm not physically throwing up like I did with my son this time so that felt worse iykwim

Apologies I did mean to add a disclaimer that not having nausea doesn't mean anything is wrong at all - I know plenty of women who didn't have any who had perfectly healthy pregnancies so anyone I've worried I'm so sorry I was just speaking of my own experiences and hope the backdrop of my being comforted (for what it's worth as still doesn't of course guarantee anything) by my nausea explains it for me!

Adding to the poo conversation - I'm definitely pooing more and sadly am very windy ):

gubbinsy · 17/03/2013 11:41

Thanks all.

More poo related stuff - I have IBS and been worrying about coping without my daily Colpermin. GP said sometimes hormones actually help. So far seems about normal for me - bloating etc. Anyone any experience of this?

Also while I'm on questions - how are you finding exercise? I went to the gym this week - did much lower impact than normal to avoid overheating but following day had a little but of brown spotting. Probably coincidence but got me paranoid about exercising which isn't great. I should be ok to keep going really shouldn't I? (might be a touch of an excuse too Grin

harverina · 17/03/2013 11:48

Spanish don't worry we knew what you meant Grin glad your feeling a bit more reassured.

Haven't noticed a difference in the colour of my poo! However pregnancy does very strange things so wouldn't be surprised if it was linked. I am also very windy which is fine in private at home but not so fine in work Wink

I'm sitting eating my salmon avocado and seafood sauce just now and it's amazing. Had been feeling sick and it's helping.

Taking dd swimming this afternoon but right now I am tying to get motivated to tidy up, so behind with housework - need to do big things like wash windows etc aswell as all the basics. My lovely dh did lots of washing yesterday so that was great.

harverina · 17/03/2013 11:51

Gubb think the advice is that if you did it before you were pregnant its fine to continue so I'd say its ok. Brown spotting can be an implantation bleed cant it? It's older blood rather than fresh blood I think.

I'm not exercising which is terrible. Swimming today and going to try and do that at least once a week.

Dizzy81 · 17/03/2013 11:52

Bangon, congrats and I'm sure everything is ok.

Morning everyone (just)

gubbinsy I've got IBS and I was almost symptom free with ds, this time I've had a few weeks of bloating and only one particularly bad middle of the night wake up so I'm hoping this pregnancy will follow similar lines- my hayfever disappeared last time too.

No nausea today (hooray) but massive norks are killing me!

vix206 · 17/03/2013 11:58

Gubbinsy I'm another one with IBS. Didn't have it at all whilst pregnant, then had an almighty attack during labour, then free of it (mostly) ever since...

Dizzy81 · 17/03/2013 11:58

Congrats too to all thenew members.

I'm such a lazy bones, woke up at 7ish had breakfast did some washing up, ate breakfast and at 9 went back to sleep as I was sleepy.

Spanish lady, enjoy the symptomsand ms. I'm 6 + 2 and not had ms yet, just waves of nueausia on and off since 4 weeks.

MummaPanda · 17/03/2013 12:06

Hi gubbinsy I'm a fitness instructor and you are right to keep your exercise lower impact. If you feel better you should be able to pick up the pace again in the second trimester, but I would mainly stick to cardio if I were you. Strength work is fine if your properly supported, just avoid any core work (abs) obviously!
Other than that, regular cardio exercise is proven to help you cope better with labour, so all you lazy ladies out there might wna start exercising! I certainly felt it helped me with my 39hour labour

Oh, and make sure you stay very hydrated!! I find the lucozade sport drinks great, if I just have water I start to feel faint.

Those of you concerned about nursery fees, would a childminder be an option? We send DS to a childminder (only 2 days a week - I run my own company and can pick my hours) and he loves it. So much cheaper than nursery and I like the home environment and all the attention he gets. There are 2 other little boys of the same age who are his best friends now.

Oops. Double post. Sorry Grin

gubbinsy · 17/03/2013 12:15

Good to know Misty and Vix - fingers crossed it stays as it is!

Thanks for the advice Mumma as well - sounds like I should get back to it then!

suprisepitstop · 17/03/2013 12:37

Thanks vix good suggestion.
mumma, i have an exercise question. Amongst other stuff usually do a body toning class with loads of weights and push ups etc. did it yesterday and last week and it was such a struggle and i was completely dead for the rest of day, felt terrible
should we all give the weights a rest? What about circuit? And what about step?
Thanks!

vix206 · 17/03/2013 12:47

I don't know what nurseries charge but my childminder is £3.90 per hour including meals and snacks. She's got an Excellent ofsted rating and I'm dreading the summer because she's moving so we can't send DS anymore Hmm
