Shagged Out Viroids 7th Thread! From conception to birth...living proof that JSing really does work!

MrsBri · 04/03/2013 21:03

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw a few births, including one set of twins, and this one promises to be fruitful also with a number of us nearing the end of the 9 month wait!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 14th thread.

Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Pineapple! Grin Thanks

tiredteddy · 19/03/2013 09:33

Happy birthday Pineapple! It's our wedding anniversary today too!

Wing, enjoy your shopping. Have a look at the moulin roty baby teddies, so sweet! And of course Jelkycat ones. We did the present thing from
The baby when ds2 was born as ds1 was a toddler and more likely to be upset/ emotional. We didn't this time as the boys were so much older and dd was born two weeks after Xmas. That said lots of people who bought gifts bought for them too so they were very lucky!

Kittenkatzen · 19/03/2013 12:17

Ooh happy birthday pineapple and happy anniversary tiredteddy!

And happy shopping wing

And hello everyone else! :o

MrsBri · 19/03/2013 12:17

Happy birthday Pineapple :-)

Had a very productive meeting with HR about the issues at work. I'm not finishing early now, as I thought I might. But the 3 witches will be looked at more closely.

Yay!!

Happy birthday Pineapple and happy anniversary Teddy!

Re presents, my DS loves toy prams but we intentionally haven't got him one before so the baby can buy him one! I also use a sling a lot so am going to buy a doll sling so DS can sling his teddy when I'm slinging the baby, hopefully stop him getting so jealous. Not planning on getting anything for the baby from DS though.

WingDefence · 19/03/2013 17:10

Happy Anniversary tired Thanks

I had a really productive day at the Trafford Centre! Got tons in Boots (boob pads, tee tree oil etc plus some stuff for the baby like Snufflebabe stuff and saline spray in case she gets bunged up. All things I'd forgotten about.), two lovely funky nursing bras from M&S even though I know MNers think their fitting service is rubbish, steriliser and bottles half price in Mamas & Papas so that they were the same price as on Amazon (even if BFing goes well this time, I know I'll probably want to introduce a bottle after a couple of months).

We looked at teddies but there wasn't the best choice in John Lewis or Selfridges - only Jellycat which are lovely but not quite what I wanted and no Moulin Roty - so I'm going to get another Steiff bear for MiniWing as that what DS has online.

Which do you prefer?
The same as DS's but a different colour?

DH thinks this has a 'more feminine' face
Or
Two-tone bear

I have a favourite but I'd be interested in your views!

I didn't overdo it and we took our time going around. We only had a few places to go to which helped.

Tomorrow, I am going to organise everything! Nesting time Grin

MrsBri, glad to hear you sound happier about work. Don't let the bastards witches grind you down :(

MrsBri · 19/03/2013 17:58

Ooh, choices, Wing! I like feminine or two tone myself :-)

Well done on the successful shopping too.

How many maternity pads do I need? I have some already, but think I'll definitely need more. Such glamour, isn't it?!

tiredteddy · 19/03/2013 18:19

MrsBri, glad you had success at work regarding the witches. Hope they are better colleagues to you in the future. About mat pads, I got through several packets at least 6 packa of the nice thick ones before I used the slimmer ones.

Wing, you day sounds great. The teddies are lovely too. I was looking at those in Bentalls at the weekend. They do a girly princess one too and a cool pirate one I'm a little boat / nag that I really liked! From your lovely selection I like the second one with the green t shirt it dies just have a very sweet face. But as I'm indecisive I'd be tempted to get the one that matches your DS's one as I like things to match Wink helpful arent I?Grin

Kittenkatzen · 19/03/2013 18:26

In the teddy competition my vote goes with Mr Wing - the teddy in the stripy tshirt is adorable!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 19/03/2013 19:19

Happy Birthday Pineapple!
Happy Anniversary Tired Thanks all round!

Wing, I don't like the two-tone bear, he doesn't look very bear-like. Can't explain it better than that but I wouldn't buy him. Love the other two, although the one in the stripey top just edges it!

Do you think the dri-nites 8-15yr old nappies will be just as effective as sanitary pads post-birth? I can just fit into them (looking at the sizes) and they do a free sample offer on their website, so tempted to order some to try them out!
MrsBri, I didn't bleed much at all after DS, only a little bit after wiping for 3/4 days...the big cheap Value sanitary towels from the Supermarkets were what I used.

Hooya, congrats on showing...and fingers tightly crossed for your results.

Dysgu · 19/03/2013 23:39

Re maternity pads - I bought 2 packs and have not finished the second one before moving onto thinner sanitary pads. However, this is DC3 and the DDs were very different and I think I probably used about 4 packs on each of them.

Gary not sure I would want the bother of dry-nites myself - pads are easier to put in/out of pants, I imagine?! However, I would also come nowhere near being able to get into them...

Wing another vote here for the 'feminine faced' bear with the striped t-shirt.

Re gifts from DS to DDs - yes, 'he' bought them each a toy dog; he had obviously heard the non-stop games of vets, Crufts, agility shows that go on in this house so thought they would love more dogs - which they do!

DDs have not bought DS a gift - but I have said that they can each choose him something (clothes or toy or whatever) once he comes home from the hospital.

Hooya · 20/03/2013 03:08

Oh I'm so behind! Can anyone remind me of how I join the fb group please? Smile

MrsBri glad you are getting some help from HR - I too have found that getting anyone from HR with actual answers at work is not easy! Over a week after I sent my email to about 10 different HR people, they still haven't even arranged the conf call to talk about how it impacts my secondment...

Happy birthday Pineapple and hope your DH gets good work news soon. Of course you'll have low moments but things will improve!

tired happy anniversary - Fern 8 weeks already, wow!

Oh Wing I'm Envy at Boots shopping - can't wait til our UK trip in a few weeks, going to buy another massive suitcase while there to fit all the shopping in!

GBT wow at being able to fit dri-nites! Grin

I am struggling with maternity wear. Ordered a pile of stuff from asos which came today, some of it's ok but I am so used to fitted businesswear it feels a bit odd, and I do want to buy a couple of posher things for big meetings - does anyone know if I could get away with a DvF wrap dress a couple of sizes up on my usual? I thought she did maternity ones but can't find yet...

Today is a holiday, spring is here in Tokyo (22 degrees) and the cherry blossom is starting! Sorry showing off to make up for lack of Boots here! Grin

Kittenkatzen · 20/03/2013 07:33

EnvyEnvy

hooya if you pm me your rl name then I'll find you and add you to the group when I get to work in a bit Smile

Kittenkatzen · 20/03/2013 07:36

Oh and re the DvF wrap dresses my guess would be that it'd be fine for a while but probably not once you're properly big, depending on your build. I've bought two or three work tops a size up from normal but am finding that whilst they fit my tummy they're a bit loose around the shoulder/boob area and I end up inadvertently flashing a bit of side boob (not a good look - Cameron Diaz I am not) Grin

Hooya · 20/03/2013 07:55

Thanks Kitten - pm sent!

Have just ordered another 3 dresses from a store called Seraphine... I think you're right about going a size up, I don't want to go flashing anyone (you don't even show shoulders in Japan so sideboob would be Blush )

I found my first 2 pg-related stretch marks this morning Sad they are very pale as are my other weight gain / loss ones, but still, not too excited about that...

Kittenkatzen · 20/03/2013 08:20

Seraphime have some lovely stuff - I was eying up a nice pair of straight leg trousers on there the other day as well as a couple of black officey dresses that I might invest in after payday Smile

Boo to the stretch marks...I seem to be ok so far, but then I'm a bit of a chubbier to start with so have some growing space :)

Train just getting to London now, expect a random friend request in half hour or so!

Rockchick1984 · 20/03/2013 09:31

Hooya despite gaining loads last pregnancy I mostly wore non-maternity clothes and just let them stretch around my bump as there was hardly any maternity wear that I liked - personally I bought 1 size up depending on stretch, and they were fine (I had a couple of dresses from pre pregnancy that I could still wear by the end)! Just remember that you won't be able to keep wearing them once you've lost the baby weight as they will be all stretched and baggy xxx

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 20/03/2013 09:46

Hi all. Sorry I missed birthdays and anniversaries yesterday - had another busy day.

Went to another chiropractic appointment yesterday but also went to a talk about chiropractic for pregnancy, babies and children (my chiropractor specialises in this area) and WOW - I had no idea about the kinds of things chiropractic could help with as I wasn't totally sure what chiropractic even did

She recommends all women get a check before birth as so many people have 'issues' that don't cause pain but that can affect labour/birth - I had no idea that my pelvis was slightly twisted as I haven't had any pain but she said if it hadn't been adjusted it would have reduced the space available for miniGuinea when she comes. She is also treating my rib pain/tight diaphragm as well as a tight neck, some compression in my mid spine, and my heartburn! Best thing is I don't have any exercises to do at home Grin.

I am also going to take miniGuinea as soon as she's born - research has shown that approximately 90% babies (regardless of how/where they are born) experience 'trauma'/strain from the birth. This can cause nerve irritations that can cause problems with breastfeeding, colic, reflux etc. I'm also taking DS as he has a number of issues that can be helped with chiropractic and she offers free assessments.

Anyway, as you can probably tell I found it very interesting!

We have a busy day today - setting off for ballet in about half an hour, then meeting a friend for lunch, got to take the sofabed cover to the launderette (we are selling it), and then I'm helping at DSs school disco - so I'll be surrounded by loads of screaming children for a good 3.5 hours Confused. Wish me luck! Hope you all have a lovely day.

Kittenkatzen · 20/03/2013 11:07

hooya! I think ive found you on fb but you seem to have ultra high security to the point where I can't even send you a friend request! Grin

I pm'd you earlier with my name so I think you'll need to friend me and we'll do it that way....

WingDefence · 20/03/2013 11:25

That's really interesting Guinea - I have heard of cranial something for young babies which I'm guessing is done by a chiropractor but never did it for DS.

Hooya, Isabella Oliver does the most amazing and can be pricey clothes, including wrap dresses. I've also got some very smart cotton wrap work shirts and other bits but because I wasn't in an office this time round I didn't use any of them. Check them out and then look on eBay (the clothes do hold their value).

The thing about a maternity wrap dress is by the time you really are getting larger, the hem will stay pretty straight whereas a normal wrap dress hem will rise up as it goes over your increasing belly.

When are you visiting the UK and whereabouts are you coming to?

somethingwittynot · 20/03/2013 13:09

sorry i havent been here in a few days DS1 has been ill with his first case of tonsillitis been a draining time!

of to get henners registered 5 weeks today!

tiredteddy · 20/03/2013 13:20

Hooya, have a look at the Isabella oliver wrap dresses I had one and it's immaculate after three pregnancies and looks great.

Something hi! Hope ds1 is better and enjoy registering ds2. When we registered Fern the lady said she was the first fern shed ever registered. Special Smile

Wing, which teddy won the competition????

Hooya · 20/03/2013 13:58

Right, I'm on fb now, fun!

I had looked as Isabella Oliver too, just ordered a (hopefully) gorgeous dress and a skirt Grin thanks for the recommends!

Naughty day's shopping for me! But in my defence, I was getting so pissed off seeing my lovely suits (mostly tailored dresses and jackets) hanging sadly in the wardrobe, wondering if I'll ever wear them again!

something hope DS1 is ok!

Wing we're visiting at the end of April, starting in Scotland for a week including a trip up to the Hebrides I think for some scenery, then London for a week. So much catching up and shopping to do!

Right, must go to bed before I buy anything else
