Shagged Out Viroids 7th Thread! From conception to birth...living proof that JSing really does work!

MrsBri · 04/03/2013 21:03

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw a few births, including one set of twins, and this one promises to be fruitful also with a number of us nearing the end of the 9 month wait!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 14th thread.

Good luck at the scan, waves. I can imagine how excited your kids are :-) Here's hoping baby is growing nicely.

Good luck with your scan today AVB!!

waves, have just read your other thread Sad so sorry stbxh is behaving like such an arse, really hope you manage to make it into hospital today. Glad bump is bigger x

for MrsBri!

blondies, cannot believe how far along you are!

Spoke to my mum yesterday, she thinks this baby will be early (24-25th July), she was right about me going into labour last time & me being pregnant before I told her (with mc & this one) so hope she's right again! Will start hiring her out as a pg physic if it is right!

Pineapple80 · 21/06/2013 10:47

Good luck with your scan Waves, hope all goes well.

Sending u lots of labouring vibes MrsBri !! Hoping it kicks off for you soon.

MrsAVB - wishing u all the best for your scan! Smile

Blondies - aww lovely to hear your bump is well and truly showing! I still really miss my bump and find myself putting hand on my belly still sometimes!

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm feeding DS at the moment & he has been a good baby, sleeping more and we are all learning from each other everyday Smile. Can't believe he was born a week ago now !

Kittenkatzen · 21/06/2013 18:13

How was the scan mrsavb?

mrsbri sorry babyb is staying out for now - cant be too much longer though!

waves hope your scan went well and littlewaves is growing nicely Smile

gbt could you ask your preggo-psychic mum if my GTT will be positive meaning I have to be induced early and no water birth (boo)? TVM! Grin

pineapple hope you're enjoying those lovely newborn cuddles! The pics on fb are very cute!

wavesandsmiles · 21/06/2013 18:28

Scan was super, quite magical as my DCs came along and their faces were a picture. My consultant was great and showed them all the bits. He's grown, still small (9th centile ish) but good news. Beautifully head down so hoping he stays like that for the next few weeks.

I'd like a psychic to let me know when my little one will arrive! Would make planning childcare and rearranging appointments a lot easier...

Hooya · 22/06/2013 04:28

Wow amazing to catch up on the birth stories! Pineapple and Stuck huge congratulations to both of you and well done on your amazing endurance too!

Good luck MrsBri hope you get that baby out soon!

And waves brilliant news on the scan, must have been lovely to have your DCs there! I don't really understand what 9th percentile means, but it's pretty good, right? Smile

MrsAVB how was the scan? It's a scary one that but hope it was lovely and reassuring!

Kitten boo on the lucozade test, fx that nothing interferes with your waterbirth plans! I think I have the same test next week but I have lazily not read up on it yet...

GBT I'll cross my gingers your mum is right too, though I'm not sure how they will feel about it Grin

Three yay for bump! I love feeling the kicking having thought I would hate it How many DCs do you have?

frog I have cried more in the last week than I have in months! Rather awkward! Isn't it bizarre feeling you could burst into tears at any moment, just because there's no bread in the house or a sad song comes on?

Hello to anyone I missed!

Hooya · 22/06/2013 04:36

Here I'm good, though suddenly feeling very very pregnant! So far things I know about my boy are: He likes to wake early (4am), seems to dance to hiphop music more than other genres, and gets really overexcited when my stomach rumbles Grin

We're trying to get the baby's room (should I say 'nursery'? do people call it that?) sorted and plan childcare. Met a potential nanny today. Hilariously neither of us had a bloody clue what to ask her! We're both used to interviewing for work when we know the subject matter - but it's hard to interview people about babies when we don't know much about them other than what we've read in books! Blush Me: "So, like, what do you do with the baby?"

Rockchick1984 · 22/06/2013 06:47

I just got a BFP, 2 months after miscarriage, but too scared to stay here yet. Hope you are all doing ok and will have me back when I'm feeling a bit more confident :)

MrsBri · 22/06/2013 07:40

Congrats, Rockchick! I had seen that you had a BFP elsewhere :-) Hopefully you'll feel able to come and stay soon (though in the nicest possible way, I really hope I'm not still here then!).

Hooya, that's funny re the nanny interview. I think I'd be stumped too. Can Google not assist with questions?

Glad the scan went well, waves. Sounds like your little one is small but perfectly formed :-) And who needs anything else?

I'm very bored of pregnancy now; definitely got to the point where the novelty has worn off. :-( Come out Baby B!

I'm currently dipping choc fingers into a cup of tea while DP rips up crappy carpet in our boys bedroom/nursery. Am thinking of looking at new carpet and just ordering it for two weeks time to lay a bit of 'do the bloody decorating' pressure onto DP. Have got 28 week apt with mw on wed and don't really know what to expect as she's never done bloods, she's always sent me to hosp for them. Am also having 4d scan wed too. Did say I wouldn't, but errrr, all of a sudden it was booked. Blush

frogchops · 22/06/2013 08:53

And congrats rock, I thought I might see u here soon, sounds promising. Wink

Hooya · 22/06/2013 12:33

congrats Rock! About the same as me, bfp a couple of months after mc, here's hoping for a nice smooth pregnancy for you and a speedy first trimester!

Hey frog hope you enjoy the 4D scan! We've had it a couple of times but the position of my placenta means we don't usually get a good result - but the pic we did get of baby hiding behind his little arms is pretty cute! Just be prepared the 4D can look really weird if there's a shadow or something in the way! I've seen some amazing pics from them though too Smile here's hoping I get one at Thursday's 28 week scan too!

MrsBri I'd done some research, but it just felt so strange in the actual conversation that I was all useless! You must be fed up waiting now, really hope you get your baby soon! Have you started on the fabled 'bring on labour' techniques yet?

MrsBri · 22/06/2013 12:50

It must be quite surreal interviewing nannies. I'd gave thought how you feel about their personality counts for quite a bit though.

And I'm very fed up because I'm so uncomfortable now. The head is so low that sitting with my legs closed is impossible. So unladylike. And yes, we've tried almost all of the old wives' tales and given up now!

OP posts:
Rockchick1984 · 22/06/2013 17:27

MrsBri shove an evening primrose oil capsule up your fanjo each night when you go to bed - the prostaglandins in it will ripen your cervix. Sorry for TMI but the only way to say that is to be blunt about it Grin

MrsBri · 22/06/2013 17:42

I'll have to send DH out for some! :-)

Maybe he'd like to administer them too, ha ha.

OP posts:
GaryBuseysTeeth · 23/06/2013 01:23

congrats Rock, hope your lines get darker (and digi's progress if you're going to use them) and we have you over here full time whenever you're ready.

MrsBri, 500mg Evening Primrose Oil orally & another one or two up your fanjo as Rock suggests....wear a pad or old knickers though as it can get messy.

Hurrah for your scan waves, and so glad the DC enjoyed seeing it.

Hooya, Ds is 18 months and his bedroom is still 'the spare room' Blush
Hope Thursdays scan brings good pictures!

frog, hope your 4D scan on Weds is great...I'm going to be booking a 38wk-ish scan just to check on baby!
Order the carpet! We're trying to decide on what to do with the carpet in 'their' bedroom....have been for the past year or so.

Hooya · 23/06/2013 10:12

MrsBri that sounds horrendous having the baby so low like that and just waiting

Rock I only got faint lines on 5 CB tests, then bought a different brand with pink dye and it was so clear, I felt daft for buying so many of the other ones! All the best to you.

GBT lol about the spare room, we keep calling ours that they trying to say 'nursery' but it just feels weird...

We've at least started sorting out cupboards in the 'nursery' and bought the rest of the baby clothes we think we'll need from M&S online not that it will stop me buying more

Any advice on nursing bras? How the hell do you choose what size you're going to be? I need to plan this one in advance as there is not a bra in Japan which fits my t*ts, unfortunately! I have bought a couple 1 and 2 sizes up, not sure if that's right though!

ChildOfThe1980s · 23/06/2013 21:36

Hooya buying nursing bras one size up worked for me- but 2 sizes bigger may be better as ones boobies can get rather large. And I suggest getting a couple of sleep nursing bras too, or you run the risk of leaking all over your bed.

All the best MrsBri - I'm sure baby will be here soon. :)

Congrats to Rockchick x

MrsBri · 24/06/2013 00:27

Hi all!

Baby B - Amy Alice - arrived by EMCS at 13.11 Sunday.

Waters broke at 6.20am, with meconium in. Straight to hospital for monitoring where contractions went mental.

Got from 2-10cm in about 3 hours! Intense.

Baby wasn't coming down with pushing, so they said forceps, but she wasn't low enough, so straight to section.

9lb 7oz!! Hefty :-)

She's adorable. Currently wide awake on ward. Nice.

Mrs BRI..... Congratulations on the arrivsl of baby Amy Alice!!! Wonderful name!!

StuckOnARollercoaster · 24/06/2013 01:19

Wow congratulations Mrs B
All sounds rather dramatic but good to hear you are both ok.
Make sure you have plenty of rest - I wish I'd been more aware that it's a hormone high which is fab when everyone wants to see the little one but that doesn't mean I should have been getting up so soon after the birth!
I guess that given you had to have an EMCS they will make you stay in hospital a bit longer to ensure you are ok. If it's anything like Bolton get your family to bring in meals for you!

Daisy is now a week old and it's been both magical and tough... Currently getting to grips with breastfeeding hence being up at this ungodly hour!

wavesandsmiles · 24/06/2013 06:46

Congratulations mrsB, what a beautiful name for your daughter Smile. Born on the day of the biggest full moon of the year!

Enjoy newborn cuddles

Kittenkatzen · 24/06/2013 07:33

Morning lovely peeps

mrsb omg babyb is a GIRL ShockShock did you fall off the operating table in shock?! Massive congrats, beautiful name and she looks gorgeous. Hope you're enjoying getting to know each other and not too sore.

frog hope the 4d scan goes well and you get some lovely pics from it!

yayyy rockchick! Tentative congrats to you for now, lovely news! Oh and I've been meaning to say on the fb page but keep forgetting - your DS is the smiliest, happiest looking little boy Ive ever seen Smile

hooya you did make me giggle at your interview "technique" Grin there must be a list of "questions to ask a potential nanny" on google somewhere - I wouldn't have the first clue where to start either!

waves congrats on the lovely scan, so glad babywaves is groin nicely in there - he's a little trooper clearly!

Hi to everyone I've missed!

frogchops · 24/06/2013 08:00

Congrats mrs bri....lovely name! Sounds dramatic after all that waiting! Altho I did just read back to your 'next weekend please baby!'
And errr is it me (its probably me) or were u expecting a boy?

MrsBri · 24/06/2013 11:04

Thank you everyone :-)

And we were really surprised when we were told, but chuffed to bits. Bri is SO happy.

Frog, we thought boy, but hadn't had a sexing scan.

Endless round of visitors and checks today, poor baby!

I'm a bit sore, but ok and healing well. I may be allowed to go home tomorrow. :-)

Good luck with the scan, Frog :-)
