Shagged Out Viroids 7th Thread! From conception to birth...living proof that JSing really does work!

MrsBri · 04/03/2013 21:03

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw a few births, including one set of twins, and this one promises to be fruitful also with a number of us nearing the end of the 9 month wait!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 14th thread.

Thinking of you Stuck, take care Smile

wavesandsmiles · 11/06/2013 13:45

Thinking of you Stuck.

My hyperemesis seems to have ramped up a few notches again, can't believe that I have around another 7 weeks to survive. (33 weeks today) Seeing my consultant for another growth scan a week today, and next scheduled hospital visit is on Friday (reduced visits on a trial basis at the moment) although if the vomiting carries on like this I'll have to get back sooner.

Bodily functions in pregnancy are soooo gross. I have seen more of my own stomach contents than anyone should ever have to see, had the odd wee escape during violent vomiting, and also have the indignity of suppositories to use when the anti-emetics make me uber-constipated. Childbirth will be a breeze after all this Smile

thethreeblondies · 11/06/2013 14:41

Oh dear ladies, sorry so many of you are suffering, I was jealous of you all in the home straight, maybe I'll sit back and enjoy the 2nd trimester for a bit longer!

Good luck Stuck

My hayfever has been quite bad, definitely testing my pelvic floor! I've abandoned my light grey work trs just in case Grin

MrsBri · 11/06/2013 15:08

Goodness, Stuck. I hope it all goes well for you.

Waves, not long to suffer it for now! Bet you can't wait to finally get your baby after all you've been through.

I'm feeling a bit wonky this afternoon after having a nap. I think it's time to have a shower to see if I perk up!

Kittenkatzen · 11/06/2013 19:07

Ooh stuck that's scary and exciting at the same time...maybe babystuck heard you talking about who's due next and decided they want out now! Glad you're being looked after though.

Good grief waves you poor thin I can't believe it's got worse again Sad Will they not induce you a teeny bit early if it doesn't ease up?

mrsbri daytime sleeping always makes me feel weird, throws you right off doesn't it!

StuckOnARollercoaster · 11/06/2013 20:02

Thanks for the good wishes... Scan showed normal growth and a healthy baby and placenta. Midwife was unable to do a sweep because of position of cervix so it will be attempted again on Thursday. Induction can be avoided until next Tuesday unless movements stay reduced but typical since I've been home it's like there'sa party going on inside me. Nerves are a bit shot now though - need to try and relax for rest of this week.

Waves - am in awe of what you have been through and so unfair that you are still throwing up - if fate is kind then I hope you get a really easygoing baby to make up for all the pregnancy symptoms.

Good luck to all - whatever stage. One thing I've realised it that sure isn't glamorous but I guess it's good practice for babies and children!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 11/06/2013 20:46

((Stuck)), hope you manage a relaxing week..all sounds very stressful, but so very glad there's nothing wrong.
Good luck for Thursday!

waves, sorry to hear the sickness is worse, hope you don't have to go in before next week, you've been doing so well to stay away from hospital.

Pineapple, I didn't have stretch marks when pg with DS, felt smug, got to 39wks & BAM, my stomach looked like a road map!
They're not so bad, and they've faded really well but I've got an awful lot of little ones on my thighs this time around.

Saw MW today, 31+4wks, everything looks good & I don't see her again for 3 weeks.
Feeling like a terrible mum as DS has basically spent the last week or so watching tv, including my mc I've spent 9 of his 17 months pg so feel like he's not been getting the best parenting/start to life...which is probably why he's not talking properly. Gah!

Kittenkatzen · 13/06/2013 07:21

GBT stop beating yourself up I'm sure you're doing a sterling job - your DS looks like such a happy chappie in your fb pic :)

pineapple how you feeling today (it's evening for you now right?). Have you got a time to go in tomorrow?

MrsBri · 13/06/2013 08:48

Ooh, yes...almost Friday for pineapple :-)

Exciting!

Hi all, yes it's my last evening being pregnant with this little one! Been a quiet but good day overall...been packing and re packing hospital bags, dusted and mopped up the baby's room too. Had another silly argument with DH Hmm. I think he is also somewhat nervous about it all and can only imagine it's in a totally different way to my nerves. I know he is concerned about not working atm but we talked it over and agreed we are going to be ok. Things will improve eventually and we have to focus on our baby now Smile. One step at a time, is what they say isn't it?

I had the weekly monitoring done yesterday and things look good, waters are a little lower than last week so have had to keep an eye on movement today & been told to contact hospital if there is reduced movement. Baby seems to be moving and shuffling round ok so far. So we will be leaving for hospital in about 12 hrs from now! They will start with the prostin gel if cervix is not favourable and go from there. If cervix is dilated enough, i think they can break my waters as a first step but my last examination was 2 wks ago. If not then I am hoping gel is enough but guess we will see! I'll try to keep you all posted from hospital, I'm assuming there may be a lot of waiting involved Grin.

Enough about me!! How is everyone doing?

Waves - glad you are on the home stretch too. And sorry to hear your sickness is back again. Hope that it improves or at least the next 7 weeks pass quickly so you have your little baby sooner!! You really have been thru so much lately.

Gary - I am sure you're not a bad Mum at all, sending over a hug because I can totally relate to the the hormonal emotions...

Stuck - wishing u the best for today's sweep. How are you feeling?

MrsBri - how are you feeling? I hope baby B is well and you're well too.

Take care and have a lovely day ladies x

ChildOfThe1980s · 13/06/2013 16:14

All the best Pineapple - I hope it goes quickly and easily. :)

So sorry to hear about your woes Waves and Stuck Flowers

Bethany is now 9 days old - how time flies. We had to stay in hospital for 5 days as she was on antibiotics, but she is fine now. She's a chilled baby and sleeps much better than her brother, thank goodness. I am really enjoying her.

My labour was about 40 hours from start to finish, and I was in hospital for 9 hours (got there when I was 5 cm dilated.) I did it all with just gas and air - so pleased with myself. My breathing and visualisation techniques that I've been practicing through pregnancy really paid off, and my MW was amazed by how calm (and quiet) I was. DH was a great support too, he kept saying how well I was doing.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 13/06/2013 16:23

for Pineapple!! Hope you have a nice room (not too boiling!) and everything goes as quickly/painfree as possible.

for Stuck, hope it's going well!?

Well done Child for doing it all with just the G&A! I got told off for screaming with DS so I shall channel my inner you for this one.
How is DS taking to being a big brother?

Feeling a bit better about parenting DS today, thanks for listening to the rant everyone Blush
Going to attempt the walk to a playgroup tomorrow, managed shops & back today (first time in ages alone!) so feeling positive.

MrsBri · 13/06/2013 16:42

Congratulations, Child :-) That's really impressive. I'm hoping that I can do as well as you when my time (finally) comes!

Good luck tomorrow (though today for you) Pineapple. I hope it isn't too drawn out a process.

Gary, I'm glad you're feeling more positive. Pregnancy hormones do have a lot to answer for when it comes to mood etc.

I'm a bit impatient today...one week til due date and NO bloody sign of Baby B coming out. He's still shuffling and waving his arse / legs like a loon so he seems content enough inside me. Boo! But things can change in the blink of an eye, so I would actually like to race Pineapple to a finish, ha ha! :-) We shall see how it goes, eh?

I've just got round to buying a father's day card for DH online. I was waiting as long as possible as I wasn't sure whether to get a bump or a 1st father's day one. I've gone for bump. Maybe that's what I needed to do to spur Baby B on!

I hope everyone is OK.

Good luck pineapple, hope all goes well!
And congrats child
Xxx

Pineapple80 · 14/06/2013 01:08

Thanks all!! At the hospital now and have been given first dose of the gel which seems to have kicked off contractions almost right away. Feeling like period pain and coming every 5 mins or so. Hardly slept last night! But feeling fine at the moment.

StuckOnARollercoaster · 14/06/2013 04:35

Oh good luck pineapple... Sounds like the gel is doing the trick.

Had a very emotional day yesterday, ending up having a good chat with a consultant, and eventually a successful sweep on my hiding cervix. Upshot is I've been awake since 3am and now having irregular contractions.

Fingers crossed for both of us Grin

MrsBri · 14/06/2013 07:04

Yay! Come on babies Stuck and Pineapple!

I'll be bringing up the rear!

Ooh it's a babystuck/babypineapple race! Who's going to win Grin

WingDefence · 14/06/2013 08:55

My money's on Pineapple. Sorry Stuck!! Grin

StuckOnARollercoaster · 14/06/2013 11:07

I'd agree Wink
Ended up falling asleep and they've slowed right down. Have been for walk to try and kick them off again but its just the odd one every 20 mins rather than the every 5 before I fell asleep!
Note to self - not to be too relaxed and comfortable at this early stage. I think I'm in for a long one...

Kittenkatzen · 14/06/2013 11:29
ChildOfThe1980s · 14/06/2013 11:35

Come on Pineapple and Stuck ! You can do it!

Gary DS is enjoying being a big brother. He loves holding and kissing her and does anything he can to help me, like getting me drinks when I'm breastfeeding. So proud of him.

Hope your baby arrives soon MrsBri . I bought a Father's Day card for DH a few weeks ago, and it's quite hard finding one that is non gender-specific, i.e. I couldn't get 'from your princess' type cards 'cos I didn't know Baby's sex at the time. Eventually found one though.

MrsBri · 14/06/2013 12:32

Bloody hell, poor you Stuck.

I think Pineapple may have already won the race. Maybe I'll have a chance against you if things kick off soon (no chance! :-( ).

I hope baby is here soon too Child. And yes, we're team yellow too, so I would've struggled as well if I was confident baby would be here by Sunday!

wavesandsmiles · 15/06/2013 10:17

Are then any new babies yet??? I hope so.... Quicker these arrive the quicker I move up the JSing imminent arrivals queue Grin

I was weighed yesterday and have put on a kilogram. So chuffed, and hoping that means my little one is piling on the pounds now.

Hooya · 16/06/2013 00:48

Hello all! Back from last business trip for a while, so exciting to see the race between stuck and Pineapple - good luck to both!

Waves 1kg is brilliant! Must have been a huge effort to do just that, well done you!

notso yaaay for a boy! :) so excited for you knowing the journey it's been to get here!

Wow to Child with only gas & air, what an achievement!

MrsBri home straight now, are you scared or just ready?!

GBT you should rant as much as you like Grin preggo prerogative surely!

Loads more I've missed! I am getting towards 27 weeks, being woken at 5am by baby doing barrell rolls (seriously, am I actually gestating a crocodile in there?) and trying not to worry about extracting myself from work for a few months. Last week was full-on 16 hour days, but I really enjoyed most of it Confused - I know I will hopefully really enjoy motherhood too, just hope I can adapt well enough!

Finally came home to cot and changing table arriving, very exciting / scary, will post them on the fb page!
