Shagged Out Viroids 7th Thread! From conception to birth...living proof that JSing really does work!

MrsBri · 04/03/2013 21:03

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw a few births, including one set of twins, and this one promises to be fruitful also with a number of us nearing the end of the 9 month wait!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 14th thread.

Thanks for the belly button reassurance

waves it just sounds bloody horrendous - you're doing so brilliantly just to get through this, bet you will be so so relieved when you finally get to meet baby and stop being sick! Can you sneak any tasty food into the hospital to secretly snarf after the drugs are administered?

I started exercising the other day in depression at my weight gain. Has anyone else done Suzanne Bowen's DVD? Ok I'm really unfit but it's pretty hardcore! I had to lie down a couple times Blush

WingDefence · 14/04/2013 05:10

Hooya I really don't think you're meant to be doing exercise DVDs when you're pregnant - unless it's a pregnancy DVD? Even do, you should take it easy for various reasons eg the thing that makes all your joints relax and ready for birth, the extra blood already pumping round your body rtc etc?

I've had an innuendo belly button with both my pgs, thank goodness as I really don't like outies!

DD slept 10:30-3:30 tonight but is now still feeding like a beast so th extra sleep has made her ravenous but all I want to do I'd go back to bed now!

WingDefence · 14/04/2013 05:11

An INNY belly button not innuendo! Confused Grin

Hooya · 14/04/2013 09:41

Ha ha Wing at innuendo belly button! Grin

They are special pregnancy DVDs, I've read a lot of good reviews and checked with my doc first - which unfortunately means I don't feel I have much excuse not to! It's very low impact stuff, but I still find I have to take breaks. I'm too lazy to ever overdo it! I got the Davina one too which is very gentle but quite boring, and better for later pg I think.

Glad you got a decent long stretch of sleep at least, even if it ended at 3.30am - ouch!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 14/04/2013 12:56

Hooya for bellybutton worries (haven't for so long!), I had an innuendo (ha! Wing) with DS & I doubt this one will pop out either.
Although like Wing, not a fan of outies & I think DS might have one as he grows up.

Re.Workout dvds, I'd advise something simple like a yoga/pilates/boring dvds (there's one called Y-Plan, it's an early 90s video transfer so is very dated but it's good for when you need a light workout), if you needed to lie down a few times ease off on your reps/intensity enough that you don't feel like you're about to die.
Although well done for managing the Davina one, I find her so irritating that I doubt I could do it.

alcohol free Wine for waves! Hope today is easier for you.

notso, congratulations on the successful scan.

DH got up with DS today & I slept in until 1030. Blush

notsoold · 14/04/2013 14:21

Innuendo belly button..... Very funny :)

Have a good Sunday!!!

Pineapple80 · 15/04/2013 00:04

I have a quite deep inny belly button and only started seeing the end of it once I started showing properly! I don't think there is much chance of it popping out though, and I find it fascinating seeing them popped out on others! Grin

Baby doing karate kicks and wriggles in my sleep this morning! I hightail I dreamt it but must've been happening !

I cant believe I have 10 wks left till baby arrives. It has kind of just crept up on me and making me a little nervous now! We are excited though but our actual baby will be here in 10 weeks, oh my goodness Shock. Has anyone had these moments of realisation or have I been unprepared/bad Mummy to be because I have not let reality set in properly???

I get to shop for last of baby essentials next weekend which I am very excited about Smile.

Monday morning here in Oz...blergh!! Wishing everyone a great week ahead.

Practisingparent · 15/04/2013 20:58

I also have quite a deep inny belly button usually, but it is alarmingly either outy or stretched flat across belly, depending on position, at present... not pretty! But at least it gets a good clean out when pregnant! Blush.

pineapple I remember reaching 30 weeks, and thinking, I dont have much time left! but actually it feels like an eternity, because they will probably be the most uncomfortable of your pregnancy.

I still have a week to go, and then its probably an induction for me. i have not had any braxton hicks, discharge or anything to alert impending arrival. Has anyone else had a spontaneous labour, without any warning signs?

MrsBri · 15/04/2013 21:35

Practising, that's exactly what my belly button is like. To make you feel really icky, when Baby B is moving round, the outy bit looks like it's breathing

I am increasingly uncomfortable, it has to be said, and I'm 30+4 today. Can't quite believe I'm on the homeward straight, but I've a feeling it will be like forever in between now and giving birth!

I'm suffering really badly from night sweats now. It is grim, it has to be said. Think it is windows open from now on!

The nursery furniture was moved into position yesterday, which is exciting, and the new rug put down. The room is so cute now :-)

I've almost finished my hospital bag now too.

Getting there. And only 13.5 working days left. Hurrah!

OP posts:
Pineapple80 · 15/04/2013 22:32

Wow Practising a week left! And yes I'm starting to sleep less soundly, just cannot get comfortable Hmm. I am also feeling a bit stressed and anxious about things too so find myself waking with too much on my mind.

MrsBri you sound all set! Well done. I haven't even packed hospital bag, would u mind me asking what the contents are? I will need to do the same soon and also draft birth plan...

Hooya - sounds like the exercise DVDs are full on! Are u enjoying then though? If it makes u feel any enter I read somewhere that baby plus placenta, extra blood and amniotic fluid, plus boobs can add to the extra weight gain. So when I read that I felt so much better knowing it wasn't just flab Grin!! And I have seen your FB pic and you are gorgeous regardless Smile.

Well it's off to work I go! Hope it's a good day ahead.

Take care ladies!

Pineapple80 · 15/04/2013 22:33

Oops not enter, meant to say better Hooya!! Grin

somethingwittynot · 15/04/2013 23:33

Im on a ten min break from 50 muffin top busting excersises. FML

Kittenkatzen · 16/04/2013 07:36
Envy

waves alcohol free Wine for you (Schloer maybe, or appletiser...!) not sure what a PICC line is but am sure it's not something to be envious of, you poor thing.

mrsbri I cannot believe you are 30 weeks already - how did that happen?! Time is going so fast from my point of view as far as you lot are concerned - speed pregnancies all round!

wing hope you got a bit more sleep last night!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, looking forward to some more birth announcements in the next few weeks!

No news from me really, two weeks today until 20wk scan but we've booked a holiday for next week so hoping it will fly by. Feeling movement pretty regularly now which is lovely Smile

MrsBri · 16/04/2013 08:06

Pineapple, see this link for useful info on bags: www.cowandgate.co.uk/pregnancy/labour_and_birth/article/what_should_i_pack_in_my_hospital_bag

Mine pretty much goes along those lines.

Kitten, it hasn't gone fast for me. But other people's pregnancies go much faster. Like yours!

Suppose I should finish breakfast and crack on with work now. Sigh!

ChildOfThe1980s · 16/04/2013 16:16

Practicing I went into labour last time with only a few very mild BHs in the days leading up to it.

I'm 34 weeks today and feel mentally prepared for birth, but we still haven't got our nursery sorted so it would be a bit chaotic if Baby comes early. 6 weeks feels like a very long and a very short amount of time.

wavesandsmiles · 16/04/2013 18:54

I'm 25 weeks today. Definitely over half way, but wish I could stop vomiting!!!! It is dire. PICC line hurting today, apparently this is the time to expect it, so going to try hot compresses once the DCs are in bed.

No nursery planned for my little acrobat, I'm letting rooms since DH left so me and the DCs are sharing the walk through rooms on the first floor, and acrobat will be co-sleeping with me. Cuts down on things to organise, but am off to an NCT sale Friday, health permitting, to get some real nappies and maybe a sling if I can find one second hand.

Doula is sorted for birth and few days afterwards, she is lovely and isn't charging me anything. People can be so amazingly kind. A little bit jealous of all those who will be meeting their babies relatively soon Smile

tiredteddy · 16/04/2013 20:25

Seems like there's a few babies due quite soon!

WAVES, so sorry that you are still being sick! How rubbish. I also don't know what a pic line is. Hope it feels better soon. What kind of sling are you after? There seem to be a lot of wrap slings on eBay. Anything else you need? X

wavesandsmiles · 16/04/2013 20:35

A PICC line is a periperally inserted central venous catheter. Basically, this blue tubey thing has been fed through my arm, all the way to one of the big veins by my heart. it can stay in long term, but has to be kept very sterile. It is sore today all in my upper arm, so trying hot compresses.

I'll investigate wrap slings on ebay if I don't have any luck at the NCT sale. I then need nappies, and clothes, but will try to organise that nearer the time Smile

MrsBri · 16/04/2013 20:48

Goodness, waves, I'm not surprised you're fed up what with everything going on and the sickness. I really hope things improve soon. And that you pick up some bargains at the NCT sale.

somethingwittynot · 16/04/2013 20:52

Waves i had a central line in my neck when i was in hospital so hugs x

Practisingparent · 16/04/2013 21:59

waves Sorry about the PICC line, tho hopefully will get you past the sickness, it sounds like a tough pregnancy so far, but you seem to be managing really well. Where did you find your doula, and does she have much input before birth, what happens when your labour begins? Sorry if too many questions!

Mrs Bri glad someone shares my belly button woes, not looking forward to post birth, when I am sure it will just fold in on itself, among all the stretch marks. Invested in some more bio oil (expensive!)

wavesandsmiles · 17/04/2013 01:01

Someone on MN gave me the name of the doula, and it turned out I already know her! She's really great, a kindred spirit which is just what I need. We've had one long chat, and will have another 3 meetings then basically she is on call for 3 weeks round my due date, but will be available outside of that as long as she isn't with someone else. I think I phone her as soon as things start to happen, and she comes round.

The line is getting more and more uncomfortable, just in my arm still. If its no better tomorrow I'll ask them to check it when I'm on the ward having my fluids. I really hope it's just settling in! In the meantime, hoping my little acrobat settles down soon so i can get to sleep. The kicking sets of vomiting, especially at night. He's going to have to make this up to me in household chores in a few years time Wink

Kittenkatzen · 17/04/2013 07:36

The PICC line sounds horrible waves Thanks for you, hope it stops hurting soon. The doula last sounds perfect too - like a lovely cross between a good friend and someone who will keep a professional distance. I have to say though I think you're amazing generally for coping with all that's happening for you right now - my head would have exploded long ago! You, on the other hand, are quite frankly brilliant. Smile

Kittenkatzen · 18/04/2013 07:39

Have c&p'd this from my September fred but wanted to share with you all my crazy dream from last night and give you a giggle to start your day Smile

On the dodgy dream front I have to share with you my bonkers dream from last night.......I dreamt that DH had the baby with him at work, and he phoned me in the afternoon to say he was going out for drinks with a mate that evening. I said fine. Dream jumps forward to late in the evening, and DH hasn't come home, I can't get hold of him, and the baby has been locked away in his office alone for the night (as you do...). At this point I woke up for a wee, and omg I was FURIOUS with poor sleeping DH next to me! GrinGrin Literally fuming with him for abandoning our baby like that....until the point where (as I was mid-wee) it dawned on me that I had ok'd his plan and it was therefore all my fault! I then spent the next hour wide awake fretting that the dream was a sign of what an awful mother I'm going to be.....Confused

MrsBri · 18/04/2013 10:06

That is so funny, kitten...feeling anxious about motherhood much?!

Waves, hope your PICC is more comfortable today and your sickness is easing.
