Hi Cavort!

Eek am feeling a bit nervous about all the work this summer Hazle And it's going to be hard not having a kitchen for a while when I'm trying to be so healthy at the moment, not to mention being bathroom-less for a while (of course we'll have to stay somewhere else then - at MILs nearby). Was also planning to work from home quite a bit over the summer if I'm still preggers to avoid the tube - but sounds like it will be a bit of a building site!

On the bright side, tested yet again when I work up at 5am this morning (my pile of pee-sticks is growing rapidly!!) and clear blue has changed to 2-3 weeks now woop!

BraveLilBear · 21/03/2013 11:06

Yay to 2-3 weeks Alexandra Grin

I was a very frugal tester - one Boots cheapy (was convinced I wasn't pg so didn't want to waste on a good stick) and two CB Digis, spaced, religiously, one week apart. Even then my OH said 'why do you feel the need to keep peeing on sticks?'

I was very Hmm by this. Clearly men don't get it.

We have been in our house best part of 16 months now, and have managed to redecorate two bedrooms. That's right, two. We need to do the last one before July. It has to be done, but by god the thought of it is daunting me, let alone full-on tear the house down rebuilds.

In other news... had a bath last night and didn't wake up in the night with sore hips or sciatc pain! Result Grin

HazleNutt · 21/03/2013 11:08

Aww that's nice to see alex isn't it. I was a bit obsessed by those clearblue readings, I remember, was so nice to see them going up.

It was really annoying to be without kitchen, but you'll manage. Especially in the summer - I could happily live on fresh fruit and berries for months. Do you have a BBQ?

janey the chair looks interesting. Hm doesn't look like it's popular here though, nothing used on ebay. Where will you keep it, nursery for night feeds? Or living room?

Alexandra6 · 21/03/2013 11:29

3 tests bear! I've known I was pregnant since Sunday and have got through around 12 Blush DH saw the pile and asked if they were breeding too...really need to relax!

Glad you had a pain free night!

Good thinking about the BBQ and fresh fruit and salads hazle

Purplemonster · 21/03/2013 12:39

Wow, I had no idea I was so restrained on the poas front, I only did two cheapy ones (because I didn't believe the first one and they were in a two pack) and a digi one to see how many weeks. I thought that was a lot!

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 12:44

purple you are good, I did one 4 days prior to af being due, then one each morning for the next 2 days, then one 3 days later and one 3 days after that....so 5 in all. My OH said he wouldnt be convinced till the line was as dark as the control line so that was what I was waiting for.

I havent bought a digi though as Im scared it wont say 3+....sad I know.

I feel really nauseous today Confused so glad I dont have full blown MS as I would not cope well.

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 12:47

I lie, I did another 3 cheapies so 8....geez I peed on ALOT of sticks. Dunno why or when I peed on the cheap ones though. Hmm Is it bad that I do t remember?

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 12:47

do t = dont

HazleNutt · 21/03/2013 12:58

I did a lot of the cheap ones, first because there was no line although I was feeling pregnant and then because I thougth there might be the faintest line.. or not. Then gave up and did the Clearblue one that declared me pregnant. And then, as I still had a load of cheapos, peed on those too just to see if they're getting darker. And then on more digitals, to see the weeks change.

I'm a bit obessive, aren't I Grin

Alexandra6 · 21/03/2013 13:09

Glad I'm not the only obsessive one! Grin I think I'm in shock - because of my pcos, they don't think I ovulated for the first 14 months of ttc and then I was over the moon to finally ovulate with my first cycle of clomid. To get a BFP straight away afterwards feels just too good to be true! Maybe I just don't trust my body to keep working so need to keep checking my BFP is still there?! excuses excuses, step away from the pee stick Please tell me I'll relax a lot more after my first scan!

BraveLilBear · 21/03/2013 13:19

First scan is a huuuuuge milestone. The wait feels interminable. I almost booked a private scan, but then was so ill with MS that I knew Baby Bear was in there and ended up holding out til 12 weeks. At which point the nerves had kicked back in and I was a total wreck beforehand! Blush

Mother to be perfectly honest, full on vomiting isn't as bad as nausea, least not for me. Don't get me wrong, was particuraly pleasant, but at least you stop feeling sick for a little while at least.

Just eat whatever you fancy. Even if it's just pringles/cheddars/cola bottles/haribo/jam on toast, don't worry. It will change numerous times over the next few weeks and the nutrients balance themselves out in time. (I'm now craving fruit, fruit juice and, just now, had to have a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich)...

Keep smiling Grin

Purplemonster · 21/03/2013 13:33

Ah but you have to remember I was in total denial and KNEW I wasn't pregnant and only did a test after much pestering from friends so by the time I did it the line was already dark on mine so I didn't have the need to keep peeing. Otherwise I probably would have gone through a lot more sticks!

You will relax ever so slightly a lot after the first scan Alex, honest, it's just waiting for the 12 week scan that makes you crazy Smile longest weeks EVER.

Yes to cheddars for nausea, I survived for several weeks almost entirely on cheddars (NOT mini cheddars, they wouldn't do, had to be the big ones) and crunchy nut cornflakes. You really do have to eat whenever and whatever you can and it does get better in the end.

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 14:07

hazle love the 'well I have sticks I may as well pee on them' attitude, I have about 6 still in the cupboard and have no urge to pee on them...check me and my willpower out Grin

Ohhhh cheddars, now we are talking, I LOVE those! They now do bacon flavor too, I shall definitely be buying some as the nausea is really annoying!

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 14:09

purple love that your pregnant self 'knew' you wernt pregnant, quite a shock then.

BraveLilBear · 21/03/2013 14:29

Purple I was the same - I was cursing AF for the cramps minus the AF (for 5 days) I believe it was our very own Cavort and Janey who bullied encouraged me to POAS. Sigh. I owe it all to them Wink

BTW... anyone seen this? Very intriguing (as a part-time prospect)... www.bornpottytrained.com

HazleNutt · 21/03/2013 14:35

Was moaning to a friend that being pregnant takes too long and is not exactly comfortable. She said that oh yes, 6-7 month were the best, but indeed after that it got quite difficult and she was glad to give birth early. Hm. I am "6-7 months", so this is supposed to be the easy part now?

Purplemonster · 21/03/2013 14:44

I know, I'm afraid I POAS with a huffy attitude about it all being a waste of time then when it instantly came up positive thought "Shiiiiiiit...nah, this test must be broken, I can't be pregnant'. It's not like it was an accident or anything we were TTC but I still didn't believe it! Blush

How did you all tell your OH/DH the news? I never knew I was so spectacularly bad at doing 'exciting news' until I got pregnant but it turns out I'm really rubbish at it.

Alexandra6 · 21/03/2013 14:44

Very intriguing! Is that baby 'pooping' on her lawn?!

I've had a real appetite this week - Janey can vouch for it, I polished off two plates of roast dinner at her place on Sunday! Better calm it down, you're only meant to have 300 extra calories or something aren't you, and think that's just last trimester. Think I'm just using it as an excuse to be a pig Wink Funnily enough I was quite nauseous this week too, is that quite early? It wasn't anything major, just a bit, maybe it's the hormones. Might have some cheddars to be on the safe side Wink

Alexandra6 · 21/03/2013 14:49

Sorry cross post - I told DH at 6am on Sunday and it was with a pee stick that only came up with a VERY faint line, so it was bit like "erm, am I, aren't I, let's open the curtains and google pee stick images"...not the dramatic moment I planned! He looked so happy though especially when the clear blue came up later with 'pregnant' clearly. Had to wait until 10am for Boots to open to get that second test, was agony! Screamed when I saw it and had to take a photo, didn't trust my eyes!

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 14:50

purple Im crap at it too, I just opened the bathroom door and said loudly 'I think I have 2 lines on my test'... my OH actually sat up in bed, unusual as hes a lazy sod, looked at it, said 'well its not a very dark line is it' and that was that, charming huh.

I actually dont know how to tell my folks Hmm no doubt I'll be crap at that too Confused

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 14:53

live the idea of that bear strangly I just thought 'oh god it would be like toilet training the puppy all over again' thats bad isnt it! Should point out our stupid/stubborn hound took 5 months to toilet train. Makes sense though! Id like to think I would at least try it as it makes sense in the long run!

BraveLilBear · 21/03/2013 15:37

First time of telling I painted a stone I'd picked up on holiday that was vaguely heart shaped to say 'Baby xxx' and 'Made in Greece' on the back, which I thought was cute, but OH just didn't get it. We then had a weird few days while he thought I wasn't excited as I was trying to get his reaction and vice versa.

As it happened, I had a second chance a few weeks later... this time, he was running out of the door to work when I called him back - the line had gone dark while I was still peeing! Had to yell for him to wait then hurriedly tidied myself and rushed out and said something like 'I'm pregnant again' in shock. I think he was happy, but the 'you're making me late for work' was definitely up there with it...

I think I could be good at announcing exciting news, but he's just not a great recipient of exciting announcements Wink

BraveLilBear · 21/03/2013 15:38

As for the 'elimination communication' I think it's intriguing and an incredibly good idea... just not sure it's very workable, especially with DC off to daycare at 7-8months...

HazleNutt · 21/03/2013 15:49

purple I sent him a photo of the test (as it was the digital, it was quite clear what it was) with a note "Your boys can swim!"

Mother, for GPs, we put a scan pic in their christmas cards, and wrote something about more of us next year and greetings from baby. Any birthdays or celebrations coming up in your family?

MotherOfCleo · 21/03/2013 16:59
