Here you go. New thread...number 3!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Blue I've not heard from the midwives yet, am 7+1. Definitely on the system though, the EPU had my details when I went for my early scan. I self referred and they said booking in appt would be around 11 weeks, think it depends on your area :)

Iheartcrunchiebars · 02/03/2013 20:00

Blue I've not heard either. Got my booking in at 10 weeks and I assume she will book my scan then.

I've not heard from midwife either, I'm 9 + 4 now, thought I'd give them one more week before I pester!

RainbowsFriend · 02/03/2013 20:43

I'm a bit confused at people waiting to hear from the midwife: when I got my BFP I just rang the local surgery and made myself a midwife appointment - was this the wrong thing to do then?

JellyCurls · 02/03/2013 20:48

Rainbow that's what I did too, think it depends where you live.

All my symptoms disappeared at about 8 weeks except for exhaustion, same happened with dc1 & dc2. Hope this eases some minds.

Off to raid the kitchen for food before I crash out. Night night

PseudoBadger · 02/03/2013 21:07

I saw my gp last Wednesday, and got my booking appt (12th march) and scan date (6th April) in the post this morning :)

BirdsDoIt · 02/03/2013 21:08

topslou me too with the spotting - over last two days. Don't panic! Just because timings are similar doesn't mean that anything is wrong this time round. Everything I've read says that brownish blood is old and 1 in 3 women get it...hopefully with your history you'll be able to get an early scan to put your mind at rest. Would love to hear what your midwife says! No-one told me this baby lark was going to be so worrisome...

funkky · 02/03/2013 22:01

Hi everyone!!! 9+4 today and feel so pregnant. Went to Asda and could barely walk, hips are painful, belly hurts and I when I get up from a Chair, I have to stand for like 20. seconds to allow hips/ thighs/ bum settle before starting to move.

Had been nauseous all along, but was sick for first time last night and this morning. Sick wasn't so bad( actually felt better after) but peed on my self both times. So not glam!

Think sick is due to changing from boots folic acid + vit. D to their pregnancy support vitamins. Might go back to former as I should be getting enough nutrients from food anyways??!

Glad to see everyone's very chatty.

Oli31 · 02/03/2013 22:30

Hi everyone! Just marking my place. 6+3 now and struggling to stay awake. Nausea comes and goes. My DH sweetly came home with some Maltloaf for me (which I craved with DS) but just the idea of it this time round makes me feel sick. Hope you're all enjoying your weekends x

roxvox · 02/03/2013 22:33

Thanks JellyCurls that does make me feel better!

Funkky I walked into town with DH earlier and in the last shop I thought I was going to drop with back pain. On the walk home mild sciatica kicked in, and then when we got home I had the sudden stupid brilliant idea to clean the house. Now I am like you, struggling to get up! My back is hurting, as is the sciatica, and also I have pain just below my left rib cage, it feels like something is digging in there. Hopefully a good nights sleep will sort me out. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Blue I was told when I saw the GP to book an appointment on my way out to meet the MW with the front desk. He said that I didn't really need to come and see him (although I did because I needed some pregnancy-safe painkillers for my headaches). I'm meeting the MW for the second time tomorrow (a home visit), but I am yet to hear anything about my 12 week scan.

Is anyone else suffering with indigestion/heartburn? I seem to get it after every meal or snack even!

Sorry for always writing long messages... I tend to save up my comments and then when I come to type them they end up as one long ramble!

I hope everyone has had a nice relaxing Saturday.

Wickedgirl · 02/03/2013 22:38

I am now 7+5 and although I have been feeling sick for weeks, yesterday was the first time I have actually been sick. I was horrendously sick in my other 3pregnancies so I knew that the sickness would start eventually. I hope it doesn't carry on for too long though.

Everyday I get to about 5pm feeling rough and tired but after 5, I feel really cold and bit fluey. Anyone else feel like that?

It is made even worse by me working 4 nights a week......just as I should be curled up in bed, I am going off to work.

Livened · 02/03/2013 23:05

What a busy bus we have - lovely to hear all people are having similar symptoms to mine. Although I now crave hula hoops!

Had a private scan today at 8 weeks as we have lots of family things coming up where A: I won't be drinking (which for me is unheard of!), and B: We'd like to tell a few people in person and it will be our only chance as they live far away.

Scan was great - little cashew nut in there with a HB if 160 going like the clappers. I'm measuring around 8 weeks too, so that all makes me feel much happier that he/she is growing ok.

Are most people first timers on this bus, or are there any second/third/more time mummies here? This will be our second - DS is 13 months and a complete joy. Of course this means this little bean will be the spawn of Satan for sure...

I'm feeling absolutely wiped out at the moment, and if I don't eat little and often I feel so sick. Was like this last time too. Just waiting for the killer heartburn to kick in like last time! Already peeing far too much already too.

Hope you're all enjoying this spring like weather ;-)

MrsZzz · 02/03/2013 23:11

Roxvox- my GP/ midwife situation is exactly the same as yours- I even have the home visit tomorrow as well! Wonder if we're in the same area...

Current heartburn is pretty mild but it was hell with DS towards the end, so I'm not looking forward to that.

Hope everyone gets a good, sick-free night's sleep.

Rockchick1984 · 02/03/2013 23:44

Funkky just keep an eye on those aching hips and if it doesn't start to ease over the next few weeks it could develop into SPD (my friend was on crutches by 20 weeks) however it can be eased with physio. Hopefully it's just your body adapting to the early pregnancy changes though!

Livened I'm on baby 2, DS is nearly 2 now and although mostly an angel he has started having regular tantrums - I'd originally wanted a 2 year age gap but am actually glad I'm not heavily pregnant yet, need time for either him to outgrow them or for me to get better at dealing with them Grin Glad the scan went well for you, got my 8 week scan on Thursday so will hopefully be telling people after that.

juniper9 · 03/03/2013 01:16

Livened I'm actually due on 30th Sept, so one of the 'oldest' on this thread, and I'm 10 weeks on Monday. So doubt there are many second trimesters here.

I had my booking in last week- she took bloods and wanted a wee sample. Lots of questions (like are DP and I related Hmm ) but nothing too major.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 03/03/2013 05:43

Why am I awake at 530am??? Grrrrrr.

OP posts:
Sephy · 03/03/2013 07:40

the insomnia thing is crazy, isn't it?! I was so so tired last night but didn't stop me from waking up twice and having to get up at 7 to stop myself going mad!

HotSoupDumpling · 03/03/2013 08:59

juniper - I'm really looking forward to seeing if the midwife asks us if DP and I are related, given that he will be there and is a different race from me!

I haven't had an uninterrupted night's sleep since my BfP...there is a well trodden line in the carpet between my side of the bed and the bathroom.

pinkmoonlight · 03/03/2013 10:25

Morning everyone! DH and I have just got back from our early scan and it was totally worth doing! I explained to the lady that I'd had some bleeding and my very mild symptoms have all disappeared. We saw our little bean on the scan- all looked normal and its little heartbeat was really strong- feel so much better now! Smile She said it's totally normal not to 'feel pregnant' and to just enjoy the lack of symptoms. I hope that helps those who were worried about not feeling sick etc xxx

roxvox · 03/03/2013 10:37

That's brilliant, glad it all went well for you pinkmoonlight! And it's good to hear that lack of symptoms doesn't necessarily mean anything bad!

MrsZzz I hope it goes well today with your MW. Why am I so nervous about them coming over?! DH is about one step away from putting child gates up on the stairs and safety catches on the cupboards... I think he thinks they're going to be assessing our house from a child-safety aspect!

I am quite fortunate to have not had any insomnia yet, but I am up at least twice in the night to use the loo, sometimes more. Not sure I could cope if I wasn't sleeping properly so I feel for those of you suffering.

TheFalconsmistress · 03/03/2013 10:42

Glad your scan went well pink Smile

I feel ok today but im not worried got my 10 weeks update it said you should feel better!! The placenta has started to take over babys hormone production yey!

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying sunday away to my folks for sunday lunch Grin

MrsAFlowerpot · 03/03/2013 10:50

Morning all,

I'm another craving salty things + anything I see on TV that we dont have in the house. Still feeling v nauseous but main symptom is absolute total exhaustion!

Sun shining here today though - trying to summon up strength to get to sainsburys Smile

pinkmoonlight · 03/03/2013 12:08

Thanks roxvox and falcon Smile x

LittleChickpea · 03/03/2013 12:18

Hi all,

Logging onto new thread. Its been a while since i logged in. Sorry to hear about some of the sad news. Other than an awful cold and aches/pains nothing to report. Other than sore boobs every now and then no sickness, cravings or tiredness. I keep wondering if I am actually pregnant.

pinkbuttons · 03/03/2013 12:21

Morning all,
So glad scan went well pink and hope your feeling a bit more relaxed and pregnant now youve seen your little bean Smile
Also feel for those of you suffering from insomnia, I am exhausted and getting 8 hrs sleep most nights. DH has started getting up with DS in the night, hes a bit unsettled so has gone from sleeping through to waking up twice a night.Poor DH has been great because my ms tends to kick in as soon as I wake and if havent had much sleep end up being sick so he has to get up anyway.
Spending Sunay writing my dissertation here. 3 more weeks and it will be gone thank goodness.
funky I just wanted to say as someone else did your symptoms sound similar to those of SPD or Pelvic girdle pain. Am studying physio and spent alot of time working in our womens centre through my degree, would say try start pelvic floor exercises and core stability as soon as you can to try and stop it getting worse. and contact your local womens health physios/ get referred through GP if gets worse, the earlier they can help and give advice the better Smile .
Sorry for essay, am trying to distract myself from work clearly. Hope everyones enjoying Sunday, lovely and sunny here which makes a nice change.
