Im 10+3, due 6th oct so surely there are mommas in front of me? having my scan 12+4 boo :( xx

pinksky · 12/03/2013 11:30

No snow here, Natalie (south west), but it's bastard cold!

I was wondering if we should do a separate stats thread to record things? I've seen a few of the other AN groups do them e.g. Sept. What do people think?

Rockchick1984 · 12/03/2013 11:36

Am I the only one pram-obsessing already?

cherrycherry41 · 12/03/2013 11:52

Im pram obsessing too! We'd bought our pram at 12 wks last time as it was a good deal lol and this time im getting a double so starting the shopping early to try out all the diff models! Grin

Natalieand · 12/03/2013 12:01

rockchick deffo not the only one. After my 12 weeks scan me and hubby r going to drive straight on to Southampton as its in the same direction where they have a mamas and papas shop babies r us and huge mothercare so can just have a browse at the ones I like from pics etc and start making decisions. Xx

Rockchick1984 · 12/03/2013 12:01

What are you considering cherry, and how big's the age gap? I'd love the iCandy peach blossom but don't like how it only forward faces, I prefer having baby facing me.

Flyer747 · 12/03/2013 12:01

Roofio87, I'm in the north west too, it's lovely but sooo cold have to go and walk my pooch in sub zero temps. I wish we had snow Natalieand I love it (when you can stay in, not liking driving in it)

RockChick, haha I'm also pram obsessing. I wanted a stokke crusi, but DP being a tight arse says "too expensive" my friend has one and I love it....so I decided (fingers crossed that all keeps going well) to go for a quinny, another friend has one and easy to use (not that I have any idea about assembling buggies)

Rockchick1984 · 12/03/2013 12:09

I'm north-west too :) Natalie make sure you don't buy from any of them without googling prices elsewhere first - babies r us and mothercare both do price matching so if you find it cheaper online you can take a printout of the website and they will reduce it for you.

Flyer is it the Quinny Buzz? I had one and it's a dream to push but fairly heavy for putting in and out of the car, and also fairly wide so if you go in lots of shops it may not be ideal :) walking the dog though it was fantastic so does depend on your lifestyle.

Smitten1981 · 12/03/2013 12:14

I have a pram earmarked already. I LOVE the look of the Phil & Ted's Promenade. Had a look at the iCandy's but I just can't get over the brand name, it really irritates me for some reason that they stole Apple branding for no apparent reason. It really turns me off them, I'm just being a weirdo here, right?

Also, overjoyed to say that my nausea seems to have eased for most of the day, still getting a few queasy moments but it's not all day anymore, hurrah furiously touches wood

Flyer747 · 12/03/2013 12:15

Are either of you northwest ladies having your babies in Liverpool Women's hospital by any chance? I know the northwest is a big area but you never know.

RockChick yes it's the quinny buzz, thanks for the tips and advice, maybe I should work on DP and convince him the only option is a stokke, just looked at that icandy and liked that very much! Decisions hey :-)

Natalieand · 12/03/2013 12:17

My criteria for buggy is, must have a bar not handle so I can hold dds hand without loosing control of buggy. Must take a buggy board, and ideally be parent or forward facing all tho I'm willing to compromise on that. Any suggestions? Lol for doubles have u considered the oyster max or city select cherry? I have a ford focus so not space isn't a big issue x

Natalieand · 12/03/2013 12:18

currently googling all the buggies u like to be nosey haha

Flyer747 · 12/03/2013 12:22

Me too Natalieand, haha what are we like! I love that Phil & Teds one, new buggy on my wish list.

cherrycherry41 · 12/03/2013 12:23

Rockchick im currently drooling over a Babystyle Oyster Max, its new and ive not seen it in any shops yet!
Age gap will be 12 months so needs to be a nice sturdy one thatll last me for a few years!

Smitten1981 · 12/03/2013 12:24

The biggest perk of the Promenade for me was that you can have the seat as a lie flat from birth, most others look like you have to buy a separate carry cot for the first 6 months. As if they're not expensive enough in the first place!

Natalieand · 12/03/2013 12:25

Friend of mine is due in August and had a two-almost three year old (at time of birth) and she's going for the oyster max. Dh likes 3 wheelers but I'm undecided. I seen this one in the mothercare book I don't mind the look of. Britax b-agile 3. Or they do the same in 4 wheels britax b agile 4 and it takes the britax group 0 car seat so could just use that for the parent facing options..... Ugh decisions decisions lol

Smitten1981 · 12/03/2013 12:26

oh, and Flyer, I was eyeing up a Stokke too, but I read a review about them breaking loads and bits snapping off and it put me off. If I'm forking out that much money for a pram I never want it to break, ever!

cherrycherry41 · 12/03/2013 12:33

Ive asked in loads of shops if theyre stocking it Natalieand, id really like to 'test drive' before i buy it!

Natalieand · 12/03/2013 12:37

The oyster max cherry?

Rockchick1984 · 12/03/2013 12:41

I know some of the independents are stocking the oyster max already - Pramworld in Wigan has it in for anyone at this end of the country :) I like the city select as a double but not as a single Natalie, it's insanely long and I'm not convinced it'd fit on a bus!

I'm not going to the Women's Flyer but friends have been there for labour and said it was lovely :)

cherrycherry41 · 12/03/2013 12:54

Yeah, its availiable online and says release date feb 2013 but been in mothercare, babies r us etc and none yet :( wahhh

roofio87 · 12/03/2013 13:21

flyer I debated the women's, its not too far, about 40 mins in car, but decided in ormskirk instead as its about 15 mins away. I hear the women's is good though, its big and well equipped, but I think I prefer the smaller more mid wife lead approach of ormskirk!!

JellyCurls · 12/03/2013 13:51

URGENT NOTE TO 34APPLES stay clear of the sugar water!!!!
I took it last night to help with my bunged upness and today have a bad case of the runs. So bad have been sent home from work

Just hope I can eat and drink something soon. Scan tomorrow so got two days off work now, yeah Smile

roofio87 · 12/03/2013 13:59

oh no jelly at least ur not bunged up anymore, but shame it went too far the other way!! we can't win can we?!?!! Wink

34PinkLadyApple · 12/03/2013 14:28

oh god jelly! Thanks for the tip and subsequent retraction! Only to be used in emergencies then (whilst at home, on your own and with plenty of soothing wet toilet wipes by the sound of it). Hope you are OK and good luck for the scan. At least they won't find 3 day old sausages on the scan as you've had a good clear out Grin!
