Over here Ladies!

As the title suggests our fore runners will almost certainly hit 37 weeks this thread.

And the wonderful little Alex will hopefully continue to go from strength to strength and edge closer to the door home with Mama

Good morning all.
Thank you for letting me moan yesterdayGrin
trish how exciting, hope all goes well!

mama so lovely to hear about Alex loving his milk, and your doing so well too.
Sorry empress no idea about mattresses

If all goes to plan 13 days until I meet DS 2! However DS 1 came at this point, but I really don't want a repeat of his birth!

Sorry empress I don't know about the mattress thing.
Thinking of everybody else too Smile
They had to call me downstairs last night Alex managed to rip out his ng tube- there was blood everywhere it was horrible and he tried to fight them putting anther one in. He s ok today has already had a breast feed and cuddle this morning now he's sleeping while I'm up here for breakfast and a wash. My nerves are a little fried though! Just glad he's ok they say its quite usual now he's more active and aware.
Will be heading back down soon.

Good luck tattooed I would probably give your MW or labour ward a ring and not wait for your appt.

35 weeks plus is excellent for twins if this is things starting :)

I'm getting impatient to meet baby Candy now - I know it's only going to be 3 weeks at most, but it feels like forever!

Hope everyone else is tip top Brew

Trishstar · 13/03/2013 11:45

Candy didn't get checked just spoke to MW xx

Dysgu · 13/03/2013 12:17

Hi all. Sitting in hospital waiting to see which way things will go! Doctors are all flummoxed and not sure what is happening or is going to happen. Managed to stop contractions and am on bed rest in a private room on maternity unit. Baby all fine - a bit quiet as though it is gearing up! Head is engaged and waters still leaking. Doctor hopes we can stay this way for another week or so - in which case I could sit at home as easily as here. But the worry is if anything starts they expect it to be quick due to previous births. Still, we are less than ten minutes drive from hospital so I am hoping they will okay bed rest at home and just coming in for tests every couple of days.

usernamegoeshere · 13/03/2013 14:16

I slept really well last night, trick for me seems to be eating less in the evening making me more comfortable I think.

Just seen ratbag on pregnancy forum, yet more waters!

usernamegoeshere · 13/03/2013 14:17

Doh posted too soon, meant to say good luck to ratbag getting things started if still reading this thread!

LikeCandy · 13/03/2013 15:03

I am officially 'too fat' - by 4kg! Oops! Biscuit

num3onway · 13/03/2013 15:04

Anyone any experience with dtd and bh/contractions afterwards? After dtd this morning I have had pain in lower bump coupled with lower back ache over the last two hours. Pains ever 5-10 mins and varying from a low 2 to about a 5 on my pain scale of ten. They worsen when I walk. No show or waters but haven't had these in either previous pregnancy either.

Forgot to mention I have had a warm bath and pains continued

bext · 13/03/2013 15:08

Wow, so much happening.

Good luck to everyone with waters breaking and strange pains. I hope everything goes smoothly for everyone with things happening.

I feel like a million miles away from that. I've still got two full weeks of work left and just had to take myself off for a little nap in a meeting room (blocked the door shut so no-one could get in!) Not sure I'm going to last the fortnight Grin

num3 when I asked the midwife of there was anyway of bringing on early natural labour (so I don't have to be induced) she said the only thing that can (sometimes!) work is DTD, something to do with the release of prostaglandin hormone.
Also, unrelated but dehydration can also bring on BH - have you been drinking plenty?

CheeseAndMushroomToastie · 13/03/2013 16:41

Candy I asked the same question, as am being induced and would like a quicker labour. I was told sex, pineapple and hot curries all do the trick. Also bouncing on a birthing ball with legs apart from 33 weeks onwards opens the pelvic area up and makes labour speedier.

LikeCandy · 13/03/2013 16:51

Cheese I really must buy a gym ball! Where did you get yours from? I'm walking/waddling at least 2 miles a day and spending a lot of time standing up (batch cooking etc) to try and keep gravity on our side.
Midwife also suggested evening primrose oil (pessary rather than orally) once induction date is decided on, but from reading up it sounds like it is thought to work in the same way as DTD - www.aafp.org/afp/2003/0515/p2123.html

num3onway · 13/03/2013 16:59

Pains have now become further apart so thinking probably nothing.

tattooedapril87 · 13/03/2013 17:19

right ladies!

I've got pre-e now so im being kept in hosp now...
they wanted to check to see if i might go into labour by myself and it turns out im 3cm already so things might be happening sooner rather than later!
will be having steroid injections shortly to help with the lungs!

omg!!!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 13/03/2013 17:26

I just bought a gym ball from Argos. I got the Davina one because it came with a stretch band that I need for my yoga DVD. It was a tenner.

I am so very puffy, round my ankles. I'm going to drink plenty to try to reduce it and put my feet up! Only 7 days to work now!

Good luck dsygu!

Oh re dtd, I was advised not to once waters had broken because of the infection risk.

LikeCandy · 13/03/2013 17:35

Eek! tattooed here's wishing you a quick, easy & safe delivery! Smile

Thanks faith, I'll check out the Davina ball

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 13/03/2013 17:37

num3onway · 13/03/2013 17:38
