Over here Ladies!

As the title suggests our fore runners will almost certainly hit 37 weeks this thread.

And the wonderful little Alex will hopefully continue to go from strength to strength and edge closer to the door home with Mama

Very jealous of those who have already got their babies!

I'm 37 weeks on Saturday and baby is very welcome to come then!

Had MW appointment today and did my birth plan. It's basically yes to synto for placenta, yes to vitamin K and please let me leave as soon as the baby has arrived!

She has commented again on the size of the baby, despite my FH only being 38 at almost 37 weeks. I must say he feels huge and all 4 scans have backed this up. Movements are very painful and everywhere! I'm at the consultant at 39+3, so if the baby hasn't arrived I will definitely be enquiring about earlier sweeps!

EssexWelsh · 12/03/2013 15:56

How exciting Dysgu!

And more amazing news Mama!

I am in a maternity leave funk! Last two days I have had 'jobs' to do but no definite plans to be anywhere and I can't get any motivation to even get dressed! Just want to be in bed! My family say just enjoy it but quite simply I'm not, need some focus to my days! How funny, never in a million years did I think I'd be bored!!

toobreathless · 12/03/2013 16:32

Would you like my toddler Essex ? She provides excellent focus. She is happy to go duck feeding, soft play, swimming, toddler group, take your pick! Grin

On the subject of supermarket shops DD and I braved Tesco yesterday (usually shop online) it was not a relaxing experience between H undoing her seatbelt & climbing out of the trolley and feeling like this baby was about to fall out (anybody else getting loads of pressure below?)

Dysgu how exciting! Keep us informed!

Essex You can have some of my chores! I've tidied the kitchen and made scones. I am currently sorting DH + my clothes out ready for when our new chest of drawers arrive at the weekend.
I also want to clean the bathroom and sort out the toiletries so we don't run out of anything important like loo roll! Need to so the same in the kitchen too and stock up on basics.
I've been getting up / showered for 9am to try and have some routine, but this does mean I need a mid afternoon nap!

I have a cracking headache and a taught bump. Seeing midwife again tomorrow for 37w appt / blood pressure & pee check.
My appointment to see the consultant (Monday) can't come soon enough. All I seem to be doing is worrying about the effect pre-e is having on baby! I think that's why I'm having to keep myself busy - I need distractions!

I AM ON MATERNITY LEAVE!!!!!!

Sorry for shouting, but it feels like it's been such a long time coming I can't help it Grin I have been counting days, hours and minutes just to try to get here and finally I am!!!

Tomorrow I need to sort out some baby stuff (got masses of stuff from friends at the weekend) and write my birth plan for a 3pm antenatal appt, Thursday/Fri clean the flat, my mum and dad ar visiting Sunday, but as I can intersperse all that with relaxing then I am a happy bunny!

Sypmtom wise, I too have a very loud, crunchy pelvis, and on Friday I couldn't walk for shooting pains down my leg. I have had terrible insomnia too, and the phantom wees where I feel like I could pee for England, but it is never actual wee, just baby's pressure.

Congrats to all those whose little bundles have already arrive, it is soooo exciting!

I am 35 + 5, 4 weeks til due date (on Friday) and so excited about the thought of meeting my baby Grin

Mama1980 · 12/03/2013 18:22

Dysgu- thinking of you x
Well my day has been all milk milk milk Grin Alex has definitely got the right idea we took our time with a nicu nurse to help him get a good latch this morning then he's been offered the breast every two hours. He gets a very desperate slightly milk crazy look in his eye when he's hungry! He looked like a crazy fish gaping for my nipple. I have very fast let down, he only has to touch me and there's milk everywhere but they drew back on the tube to check his stomach and he's definitely getting milk down him he went a bit Frantic every time and then tired himself out. he had about 10-15ish good sucks and then he was exhausted for another hour.
I also changed his nappy which provoked a little fit of temper, he clearly doesnt like that!
They don't want him to exhaust himself so they are going to tube feed over night and then have him feed again tomorrow morning. He didnt have to go back into the cot either he just laid on me all day and I read to him. I also had physio which showed if nothing else my arms are getting stronger I can swing into the chair easier now and take a few hops about the room.
Sorry for the me me me post but I just really wanted to share Grin

usernamegoeshere · 12/03/2013 18:30

All this waters and babies has me symptom spotting like crazy! I think I have heard about 3 billion pops now! I don't want to wish baby out too early but I am getting really tired of pregnancy.

Dysgu I hope you have a super smooth and easy labour and are cuddling your yummy baby soon! Can't wait to see pics!

Going to look out for those reusable breast pads, I bought a box of disposable from boots but I won't be able to keep affording them really alongside everything else!

EmpressMatilda · 12/03/2013 18:32

Essex I am the same. Plenty that needs to be done but without deadlines and a line manager I am just drifting about helplessly. I've started having a bit of a tidy up and sort out and did a bit of cooking but I still end up at this time in the afternoon saying 'where did the day go?'

I am meeting up with some NCT ladies tomorrow though so that should be good. Does mean I have to be brave and drive my car there though. I am trying to drive and get out and about but still a very nervous driver. I had a total meltdown the other day trying to park outside my house!

EmpressMatilda · 12/03/2013 18:37

Ladies I am so confused! I think I posted about this a while back but now have managed to confuse myself all over again.

I bought a cot from ebay that claimed it fitted a 120x60 mattress (which I already have) but when we assembled it there was a large gap around the edge. So I am reselling the cot but having dismantled it and measured it and it seems to measure 128x66. Looking at cots for sale online at Boots the ones with these measurements say they fit a 120x60 mattress!

For angel mama and anybody else interested:

www.littlelambnappies.com/accessories/washable-bamboo-breast-pads

I would go for disposable while your supply settles down but these are great for once your supply is established. I think you only need one pack (10 pads) as you will be doing lots of washing with a newborn!

They are made of bamboo and silky soft. I had loads of problems with nipple eczema, cracked and bleeding nipples and these were so much nicer than the disposable ones and didn't stick.

Mama that's excellent progress xx so pleased for you both x

Trishstar · 12/03/2013 20:40

Sorry if TMI but just went for a wee and when I wiped the discharge was blood tinged, do I need to do anything other than keep an eye on it? Xx

MrsSimkins · 12/03/2013 20:49

Could it be your plug Trishstar?

leluella · 12/03/2013 20:51

Mama sounds like you've had fantsatic day with Alex - glad you are getting to spend more time with him and the BF has gone well.

Can't believe all these labours starting - congrats to the lady who posted on FB with baby Harry and good luck to Dysgu.

4 weeks today left more left for me - i'd love to be 2 weeks early as I'm getting increasingly uncomfortable - pelvic pain when walking, too squashed when sitting and restless legs when I go to bed. the only time i get any relief is by having lots of bubble baths and doing my yoga dvd. Also can't wait to meet my baby girl!

1 week on Friday left before maternity leave but will probably offer to work and extra week if I can work from home as so much to do before i leave. Have worked from home the last 2 days because of the heavy snow here and surprised to find I actually get a lot more done. 36 week midwife appointment also cancelled today because of the snow so having it on Friday instead.

Trishstar · 12/03/2013 20:58

Mrs S I thought I lost some of the plug the other day, so I hope this means little mans arrival is imminent! Although I'm only 35 weeks x

MrsSimkins · 12/03/2013 20:58

Thinking of you dysgu, hope everything goes well for you.
Mama, I'm loving hearing how well you and Alex are doing, such an inspiration! X

JaquelineHyde · 12/03/2013 21:00

trish I would keep an eye on it but it sounds like a bit of your plug has come away. You may get a big jelly lump come away in one go or maybe just tiny little (almost unnoticable) bits in your discharge with blood over the next few days to a few weeks...Sounds promising though Smile

Trishstar · 12/03/2013 21:05

I hope so! 35 weeks is ok isn't it? Xxx

MrsSimkins · 12/03/2013 21:08

Eeeek Trishstar sounds like you won't be waiting too much longer! My best friend had her little boy at 35 weeks and a girl at my NCT class had hers at 36 weeks and both were absolutely fine so don't panic I'm sure everything will be just fine. Fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted xxx

Trishstar · 12/03/2013 21:30

Will keep you up to date and no doubt be asking more Q's!!

edinfirst · 12/03/2013 21:49

Sounds exciting trish. At our NHS antenatal the midwife said if you think you've lost your plug before 37 weeks it's worth letting your midwife know-not urgent or worrying, just that you should mention it. Will look out for updates.

Checking in regularly for updates from everyone, it's all getting so exciting!

toobreathless · 12/03/2013 21:52

Goodness me, don't wish your babies here early! While the early arrivals are all doing so wonderfully well it just makes things that bit harder. Plus if you then go 2 weeks over it will seem like a very long pregnancy!

Have just re packed my labour bag for about the one hundredth time :) for all those with ditsy OHs (like mine!) I highly recommend putting one set of everything for you and baby (nightie/pants/pad/nappy/hat/vest/babygrow/nursing bra) in plastic bag on top and SHOW DP/DH. I could have killed DH after he threw my beautifully packed bag all over the room looking for things post birth and giving the MW the wrong babygrow and a mismatching vest! Possibly displaying my slight control freak tendencies there.

Hi ladies. I'm posting from hospital as clinic appt today revealed high blood pressure reading. As I'm high risk already they have admitted me to get steroids in case the baby is to be delivered earlier than planned. Was already scheduled for induction on Monday. Bp coming down and hoping I might even be let home for a couple of days tomorrow...

Hope everyone else is doing well and keeping those buns in the proverbial oven!!

JaquelineHyde · 12/03/2013 22:20

I think my problem is that I was on countdown to last week at 34 weeks as this was when I gave birth last time.

Now I feel like I already have gone over my due date and I hate it but God knows what I will be like when I pass my real due date Grin
