Raspberry Leaf Tea doesn't help soften the cervix... it's a myth! What it does is improve the condition of your uterus, great for labour [making contractions more effective] and post birth [helping recovery and bleeding]. It's also full of lots of vitamins that are good for labour and recovery.
It's a bit of an odd taste, but I like it with a dab of strawberry ribena, adds a sweetness. It also isn't bad cold.
You can drink it at all times in pregnancy, there is no evidence to suggest it'll bring on early labour. But it isn't necessarily beneficial to drink it until the third trimester, so 32 weeks and onwards. Start gently with a cup a day, and then build up [to the 10 a day when you are overdue and desperate for anything to get it out!]. The tea bags from holland and barrett are reasonably priced, or any health store. The advice is they can make your Braxton Hicks more intense. Tablets are fine if you really can't stand the taste of the tea.
With a toddler to chase about I'm not drinking as much as I did last time, so may pop to our Green Shop for some tablets, at least I can take one of those a day!
