Over here Ladies!

As the title suggests our fore runners will almost certainly hit 37 weeks this thread.

And the wonderful little Alex will hopefully continue to go from strength to strength and edge closer to the door home with Mama

CheeseAndMushroomToastie · 03/03/2013 11:00

Empress what could you take for it that was available over the counter please? Can't spend another day lying on the sofa... Paracetamol is doing absolutely nothing Hmm

JessieEssex · 03/03/2013 11:05

Rosie that's brilliant news! What a great weight too. Xx

photochick · 03/03/2013 11:28

congratulations rosie! Great news x

enjay glad a nights sleep has helped. Not much fun being the sober one.

Thanks for all the grooming advice, I suggested DH could help but he pretty much ran away. Will have a go with electric shaver / trimmer. Should really do my legs too but can only manage in the bath Blush (luckily seem to be less hairy at the mo!).

JaquelineHyde · 03/03/2013 13:20

CONGRATULATIONS ROSIE!

Welcome to the world Liam, I'm sure he will be home before you know it!

Shall we take bets on who will be next Grin

It's all too exciting.

usernamegoeshere · 03/03/2013 14:33

Ooooh congratulations Rosie! Liam is a lovely name!

Getting buggy delivered this week feels so close yet still so long to go, am going to try book in to breast feeding workshop locally, since am a bit nervous about being able to feed and I figure that if I can prepare now it won't do any harm at the time and I know myself that if I struggle with it people around me trying to assist will only make me more flustered

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 03/03/2013 14:40

Congratulations Rosie! Liam is a lovely name, we considered that for a DS ourselves! Hope you're enjoying the cuddles :)

user the bf group sounds like good preparation!

enjay I think our hormones make us more sensitive to things! Glad he's redeeming himself today. Mine is back in bed (was up for about 3 hours!) after going out last night. I don't think he'll having any more nights out like that for a while so I'll let him off!

SneezySnatcher · 03/03/2013 16:21

Congratulations, Rosie.

Just had a lovely nap. Trying to rest up for next week, which is going to be very busy. I am really looking forward to my mum-to-be spa day on Thursday!

Ollibobs · 03/03/2013 16:41

user and faith we went to a breast feeding workshop yesterday afternoon and thought it was excellent. I feel so much more prepared now, and having DH learn how it should be done too has really taken the pressure off.

Well worth doing IMO

MrsB76 · 03/03/2013 17:58

Congratulations, Rosie!

I had a terrible night, woke up two times because the back of my throat was literally stuck together and I simply could not breathe! I looked it up and most likely it will be OSA - obstructive sleep apnoea. Anyone have experience with it? I'm afraid to go to sleep now it's so horrible waking up suffocating... This is probably why I've been feeling so tired recently. DH also told me I snore like a sailor Smile

MrsB76 · 03/03/2013 17:59

Oh and by the way I'm the user formerly known as Bori, changed my nick in case I need to discuss lady gardening or similar Smile

OooShiney · 03/03/2013 18:20

rosie congratulations on your little boy! hope he is home soon!

DH has the beard trimmer ready, i've been trimming my legs with it, shorter hairs rather than all off and I've got to the point of getting into awkward positions to trim them, so there is no chance I am doing my bush without a helping hand. I must admit the beard trimmer has never been used for beard trimming, it's my normal pruning method for my lady garden.

ollibobs the bit that suprised my DH is that is isn't as easy as it's made out to be. He was very supportive all the way through and was really proud of me for keeping at it. But I will say don't be afraid to ask for advice if you have problems, I was glad I did and had a really great advisor who was so helpful and calming.

damnitdamnit the aquanatal lessons are £12 for a 45 minute session, plus you have to pay in advance for 6 session blocks. If baby arrives, you can use it towards the baby swimming lessons with them, which are £18 for less than 30 minutes. I currently take DD to parent and toddler swimming session for £4.50 it's covers the same stuff and it's 45 minutes.

trish congratulations on your marriage. It looks like you had a lovely day and look forward to seeing a few more photos on FB!

my family are currently competing over who gets to look after DD when I go into labour. We've already arranged for MiL to come over and stay and she is great with DD and know her routine. My GP's are really annoyed that I've not even considered them 79/81 they are lovely but they were trying to give her sherry and cola again on Thursday when we went to visit. It aids digestion, supposedly.

I openend my labour bag this morning and put some nappies and wet wipes in it and then got a bit overwhelmed, so went and did some housework. Which isn't like me at all.

I am loving our new car, citroen c3 picasso, wasn't expecting to be buying a new car yet, but we couldn't work out the logisitics of DD's ERF car seat and the NB RF car seat, we'd have to put DH in the roof box :) so new car it was. We'd been saving for it but had hoped my little car would last another year or two. I shall check further back in the thread empress as it sounds like you have a new car too!

waves at all the new people who have joined the thread since I last posted! :)

JaquelineHyde · 03/03/2013 18:28

MrsBori I used to suffer from sleep apnoea before I lost all my weight. It's not nice but try not to worry about it too much.

When I met with the anethiatist last week she said that it may return towards the end of pg because the tissue in the neck and throat is softer and swelling and any weight gain can add to the severity.

However, I have been lucky and not had it return although I do keep choking on my food by it going down the right way iyswim and was wondering if this was some how related.

JaquelineHyde · 03/03/2013 18:33

oooshiney and empress I have had to get a new car too but we are waiting for it to be delivered. We are getting a new Ford SMax as we need a 7 seater now.

Unfortunately the estimated delivery date of the car is almost exactly the same as my due date Grin Grin

Should be interesting, new car, new baby and I'm the only driver in the house Hmm Smile

Mango194 · 03/03/2013 18:55

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to these boards so I hope you don't mind me joining in late! I'm currently 33+2 (DC1 due 19 April) so it's all getting scarily real now! Hope other April mums-to-be are doing well, and congratulations Rosie on your early arrival!

JaquelineHyde · 03/03/2013 19:02

Hi Mango, welcome to the April thread. I'm due April 18th so we are very nearly due date buddies.

There is a stat thread floating around somewhere that you can add yourself to. If I can't find it I'm sure one of the others will have it and will post a link.

There are over 100 of us on here now and it can be very quick moving so jump in and enjoy.

Ollibobs · 03/03/2013 19:05

Can anyone recommend a good hypnobirthing album that's available in iTunes?

Mango194 · 03/03/2013 19:13

Thanks Jaqueline! Think I've just found the thread you mentioned so have added my stats. Great to see so many of us on here!

CheeseAndMushroomToastie · 03/03/2013 19:25

Ollibobs was going to ask the same Grin

OooShiney · 03/03/2013 19:43

ollibobs cheese I have the natal hypnotherapy CD's from NCT, the birth preparation for hospital birth. I used it last time. I've stuck it on my ipod to listen to here and there. the other CD I had has relaxing birth music... one track was really nice, the others varied from being plinky plonky weird stuff, to a weird track with children laughing. I'm used to whale/alternative music but it was a bit odd.

giddypants · 03/03/2013 19:50

Welcome bananas and mango, mmm bit of a fruity theme going on!

I need to ask if anyone else has a really spotty back (sorry) I never usually have and I'm really mortified that it has erupted now just as I need someone to put a big needle in it! What can I do about it, I scrub it in the bath every night but its just not helping Sad
With regards the trimming, i made a real pigs ear of it a few weeks ago, was aiming to take the sides off and trim the rest, however couldn't see so ended up with bare patches and wonky angles, and much itchiness on re growth, DH has offered to help next time Grin

Have felt really hungry today, and managed to put away quite a lot of food, including a roast chicken dinner with pudding (curtesy of MIL),left over Chinese birthday cake, toast and cereal, is this normal, previously I've not been hungry and eaten very small amounts just because it was lunch/tea time!

Have started stretch mark watch, nothing yet but I know they are coming! Grin

mango welcome. I'm an infrequent poster (though hope to get better when I start mat leave) but just thought I'd say hi when I saw your post as we are due date buddies!! Hope you're feeling well.

Great to know we're all on the home strait (and mama and rosie have their gorgeous little ones already!). Xx

Oh and congratulations rosie lovely name and great weight! Hope he is home soon.

alwayshopeful13 · 03/03/2013 19:53

And welcome to other newbies I might have missed!

Mango194 · 03/03/2013 20:07

Thanks giddy and always! Hope you're doing well too Smile Ah, roll on maternity leave... I have 4 weeks left - winding down to 3-day weeks now but even that is starting to feel like a struggle (largely thanks to the joys of SPD!) Can't believe our LOs are due next month! Really need to get that hospital bag packed now, just in case...
