Lynda, glad the baby is ok. I can sympathise as mine hardly moved for two days after doing one of my physio exercises. I was v.worried. Nearly cried with relief when she started to move again yesterday.
Spoke to MW triage today and they were lovely - v.reassuring. They said that sometimes the baby can change position, and that can make it seem as if the baby is moving less - but that if I am ever worried, I can come in to be monitored. They said it is better to be sure that there isn't a problem (see, I said they were lovely). I tried my own MW today and the day before, but no answer (and it says not to leave a message). Didn't call before, as staff (different hosp) were so horrible with previous birth I didn't feel able to talk to them (previous birth, baby did not move for two weeks - telling them made no difference. That particular unit would not have done anything differently - v.long story). This has made me reluctant to contact midwife unit at all, so feel it was a step forward for me to do that today.
I am nearly 32wks. No bags packed, no baby clothes yet either (at MILs). DH is under strict instructions to not open the box the pram is in until we have had the all-clear from the next scan (32+3). Am hoping the cons will answer my questions about the ELCS then too. Had a really awful time before, and want him to understand where I'm coming from (although unlikely, am scared of history repeating). Didn't help that the triage unit were saying 'oh, you're out of area'. No, I am 15 min drive away & this is the hosp I am booked into, where my cons is based - I previously lived a 30-40 min drive away (in area!). One problem we had with the previous birth was due to complications I was referred to another area and every single time I went or phoned I was asked 'what are you doing here then - why aren't you at X?'. Not just once, but by every person I saw and every time
. I only wish I'd snapped back with both barrels shouting 'not here by bloody choice! If choice came into it, my b would be ok and I'd be at X'. If I'd only known then, what I know now, there is a different Hosp I would have gone to.
Turns out the funny smell in the spare room might not be damp. It smells suspiciously like stale sick (yuck). Niiiice tenants were evidently here before us. Now plan to get the carpet cleaned asap.
Is anyone else finding it really painful when the baby moves around? It isn't all the time, but sometimes it really hurts. It isn't BH (I don't seem to have had any of those yet this time round), I can see my tummy visibly lurch from one side to another - and it's when I get really big movements that it hurts (starting to wonder if I've got a little Frank Bruno in there
).
