Confused by my dates tbh....I usually ovulate 11-14 days after af but with my revised date I would have ov within 6 days of my af!! I used a cbfm with both pregnancies which matched blood tests for ov so trusted that which told me I ov much later than scan suggests!!

In other news nausea is miles better! Whoo hoo! But vomiting has increased and is awful!!!! Boo hoo :-(

Creamtea1 · 23/02/2013 22:50

Thanks for the bday wishes ladies :)
Just back from meal: smoked salmon (poss not allowed but lovely), gourmet burger with bacon and gruyere Wink and rhubarb crumble! very yum but soooo many calories no doubt...
Glad it sounds like sickness easing off a bit for a few of us.

Hi ladies just thought I'd share my.survival of the henweekend. Managed to sip a glass of wine all of last night and faked pouring alcohol in my drinks during our cocktail class. I then had nonalcoholic cocktail with dinner. Fortunately the only other 2 over 30s/mummys opted to head back to hotel rather than head to club. I jumped in their taxi! Smile
Sat in hotel now rather overwhelmed by the size of my now blatent bump!

SGJ · 23/02/2013 23:32

Shattered. Graduation party for brother's fiancée tonight. Want to write long

SGJ · 23/02/2013 23:33

GOOD GOD I can't even control my fingers I'm that tired. Anyway, hello all. Night all. X

jennimoo · 24/02/2013 06:20

Kamikazee - you don't need to worry bout dates, doesn't mean O was earlier. My friend was saying in Friday that despite IVF meaning dates should be spot on the scan moved the dates!

HettySunshine · 24/02/2013 07:11

I have a question. If you have your baby at hospital, do they offer you a shower after the birth? Do you have the energy for one? Oh, and who looks after the baby when you have it? Sorry, that was three questions.

Manoodledo · 24/02/2013 07:34

Hetty Yes you get a shower after the birth. I remember thinking they couldn't possibly expect me to get up and have a shower on seriously wobbly legs so soon after giving birth, but they do. As far as I recollect it must have been DH who looked after the baby.

TripleRock · 24/02/2013 07:36

Hetty, I had a csection. I had a shower the following day on the post natal ward. They encouraged me to get back on my feet asap and also use the water from the shower to soften and remove the dressing so my stitches etc could be checked. I fed dd just before I went in and left her with dh for 15 mins, they were fine.

LexyMa · 24/02/2013 07:43

hetty there are showers, you may be in a delivery room with one ensuite (I remember having a shower during labour - hot water on my back was lovely!) so you can get up and have one if you like. In the first hour you may just want to sit gazing at baby and there will be MWs in the room writing up notes etc. Your birthing partner will still be around. Baby may go back to sleep in the hospital cot after the drama and effort of being born, which would give you time for a quick shower. You will still be bleeding though so you'll sit back in bed on your absorbent mat and probably feel not all that clean for very long. I can't remember bothering with a shower, and baby will be very happy with your natural mummy smell - there could be times in the following weeks that you can't have a shower no matter how much you need one, so you might like to get used to being a bit au naturel !!

We have now told my parents (very pleased, welled up a bit) and DS by reading him "there's a house inside my mummy". He has done some lovely caring pats and strokes on my tum, and wants to know when it will be - "after your birthday, when you are 4" is seeming like a lifetime to him!

kimjayne · 24/02/2013 07:44

Is there anyone on here living up north (as in Manchester/Stockport) with advice on good hospitals for the birth? I've heard mixed reviews on St Marys and Wythenshawe. Just wondered if anyone had any 1st hand experience?

kimjayne · 24/02/2013 07:45

PS - belated happy birthday creamtea! Grin xx

KamikazeeKid · 24/02/2013 08:09

We had ensuite bath and shower on our ward but following my c section I wasn't able to have one nor allowed!!! Too much anaesthetic and a botched epidural. ......I couldn't raise my head because of the pain in my head.

I had a bed bath....not nice....I left any dignity I had right there that day ha ha!!

JammyTummy · 24/02/2013 08:13

Happy belated Creamtea! Salmon and burgers and crumble sound amazing!

I woke up this morning thinking for a few seconds it was scan day Tuesday! Just two days to go! Going to the rugby today and I'm slightly concerned about my 'bladder management'! I need to pee every hour on a good day, what will happen when standing outside for hours while freezing cold?!

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 24/02/2013 09:49

I'm getting a sort of stitch like pain in my far right hand side, sounds like a stretching pain? Doesn't help that my baby wants to walk around holding my fingers so I'm half bent over. Confused

Zoon · 24/02/2013 09:55

Thanks for the onfo re Harmony (i am over 13weeks so cant have it, also while it is almost 100% for.most conditions it is only 80% for others, at least that is what I read on another mumsnet thread). Its tempting but going to London isnt really an option for us. A friend went to FMC and rates it highly. All the internet reviews are great. My real issue is timing. Hopefully the hospital will phone me with an appt ASAP. I would also pay privately if it would speed up the process.
I am 13+2, the results take 2 weeks to come back regardless of whether harmony, amnio or cvs altho u do get some initial results afer 2-3days. That means if I will be 16weeks before I can go public with my pregnancy. We havent even told family yet. My husband is decided termination is best if results come back negative. I am not so sure. After 15weeks labour has to be induced. Not sure i could do it. Odd are in my favour tho and i am sure it will be fine. It is just difficult because it is the weekend and nothing can be done. Roll on Monday.

Anyway, sorry for that self indulgent waffle. I am glad good nights out were had and symptoms easing. You guys are great xxxx

LexyMa · 24/02/2013 10:07

Zoon we are all about the handholding here but you sound very level headed so will cope fine I'm sure.

I am pissed off: DH told a load of friends in the pub at the rugby yesterday. It's his news to tell as well but he is ignoring (or rather, saying I'm being bonkers) about my reasons for wanting to be a bit more low key this time. We haven't had nuchal risk back yet (although if it was in any way high it would have come sooner) and I wanted to minimise the opportunity for people to get all nannyish at me when we ski in two weeks.

Pinkbump3 · 24/02/2013 10:12

Anyone else got scan tmrw? I've got scan and booking together nervous to find out everything is ok but excited to find out how many weeks I am and get Edd!
My last pg we thought going by lmp I would be 11 weeks and at scan turned out 8 weeks! So my ov must be messed up! My lmp was 3dec so interested to see how far on I actually am and I don't like telling anyone before 12 weeks so i hope it's not too off as I want to be able to share my news this week!

frogchops · 24/02/2013 10:31

Everyone has had/is having scans like now....and mines aaaages away! I feel so far behind! Am hoping they don't put dates bk too!
Anyway, in other news, I'm watching man vs food... And where I'd normally be wretching, I'm thinking mmmmm. :-/

Manoodledo · 24/02/2013 11:04

Pink I have a scan tomorrow too. Likewise nervous and excited! Looking forward to telling the kids if all well. Hoping they'll be excited, but still not prepared for the questions DS1 (aged 6) might start asking. Any other non-first-timers told their kids yet? What were their reactions?

Kilkers · 24/02/2013 11:05

frog my scan isn't until the 11th March so I've got ages to wait as well, two weeks tomorrow and counting. I was watching Man vs Food a couple of weeks ago, I'd never experienced feeling so nauseous and wanting the mahoosive burger he was eating so much that I was practically drooling!

Creamtea, you birthday dinner sounds like it was fab, I'm very jealous!

Zoon, sending you hugs xx

frogchops · 24/02/2013 11:18

I'll count down with you then kilkers...15th march is mine Confused. I'll hopefully be 12+5.

Pinkbump3 · 24/02/2013 11:23

Manoodledo I have 3 dds ages dd1 13 (14in Oct) dd2 just turned 12 and dd3 3(4in April) and haven't told them yet, when I was pg with dd3 they where over the moon but not sure how they are going to take this one! I think they will be excited for a baby but the thought of having another toddler like dd3 they will not be happy at as she is a nightmare!! Lol and I think dd3 is going to be jealous but will like the baby! Oh the joys!! Lol which my girls they asked a lot of questions and I tried to e as honest as possible with them and prepared them for e Bf etc and they took it all really well x

Manoodledo · 24/02/2013 13:41

Pink I do think DS1 will be excited, he likes babies and went through a phase a while back of asking for a sister(!). DS2 (who will be 4 by the time the baby arrives) is a real mummy's boy and will probably be jealous, although I'm not sure it'll mean much to him at this point in time. We're considering moving house this year and I'm a little worried it might be too much for them, new house, new school and new sibling...

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 24/02/2013 14:11
