Another one who had a very disturbed nights sleep again!! Not sure why, I've been awake every couple of hours and its not always my bladder. I've phoned in sick today as no way I can function normally just feel bleurgh. Re satisfying your DHs needs, mine must have the patience of a saint!!

Littlemissexpecting · 12/03/2013 07:56

Sarah - Polly is a lovely name, congratulations on deciding, its lovely to have that connection.

Sunbeam18 · 12/03/2013 08:03

Love Polly! It was on my list of girl names. Beautiful! We have decided on Keir for our wee boy!

RueDeWakening · 12/03/2013 08:45

Maisie - you don't really get period pain with the bleeding, at least I never have, but you will get contraction type feelings, especially when BFing. It's your uterus contracting back into place, the feeding hormones help it happen.

learnermummy · 12/03/2013 10:17

Hi all, finally found time to catch up (at work!). My life is too hectic!

No BH here, never had any before either so will be shocked if i start having them this time.

My headaches are back though, feeling rubbish again. Think I'll take the day off tomorrow for a bit of a child-free chill out, need to get rid of holiday days anyway. At least I'm still sleeping really well.

SunnyL I live in my GAP jeans and so far they're fine, and unpregnant I have large thighs and often wear jeans through on the inner thigh Blush. Really need to start cutting back on all this chocolate and rubbish food I'm eating or I really will be the size of a house by then end.

I have my whooping cough booked for 28wks when I'm in anyway to see the MW. And have my GTT 2 weeks today. Not looking forward to that! Good luck today pinkapples.

As for baby monitors I'm not sure what to get this time. Was very happy with my BT audio one, but then we did get a video one when DS1 moved into a bed, more so we could see when the cheeky monkey was escaping his bed without going in! I can't remember which brand it was but it was very difficult to position the camera to get a good picture iirc.

Suppose had better do some work now Sad.

learnermummy · 12/03/2013 10:18

Oh yes, and the afterpains you get during feeding are worse with the second one I remember, so hoping its not even worse with the third..

curiousgeorgie · 12/03/2013 10:33

I haven't even thought about the whooping cough jab... Is it something I should just book or do some research on? Blush

Has anyone else decided on names? We're going for Seraphina. Though no one in RL likes it!

Sunbeam18 · 12/03/2013 10:37

Nobody has mentioned GTT to me - does everyone have this and is it done at a midwife appointment?

learnermummy · 12/03/2013 10:47

You only need GTT if you have certain risk factors for gestational diabetes. For me, my DS2 was considered to be on the large side so that's why they're testing me. Think you'd also have it done if they found sugar in your urine sample. It's done at the hospital. if they haven't mentioned it you don't need it sunbeam.

Seraphina is lovely georgie. We must really sit down and think about names. The name top of DH's list is in the top 20 list so maybe a little too common for my liking!

Sunbeam18 · 12/03/2013 10:59

Thanks, learner! Am thinking am going to have to phone the midwife today with this pelvic pain. Sounds like my symptoms match SPD, and my mum had that apparently. Boo.

Olimoss · 12/03/2013 11:14

I have my mini GTT this Thursday (as I messed up and went on the wrong day last week....) - I think that if that throws up any worrying results then they send me for the full GTT. The mini one is just fasting for an hour, then drinking (FOUL DISGUSTING) Lucozade, and an hour after that having a blood test....

They do it at 28 weeks fairly matter of factly, I thought, but maybe I'm being sent for it cause I'm old!

learnermummy · 12/03/2013 11:54

Definitely contact your MW about that Sunbeam. Luckily never suffered with SPD but know it can be awful. They can do lots for you with physio and support belts though I think.

Hawkmoth · 12/03/2013 12:52

Sounds like SPD to me too. Stop lifting things and twisting yourself as soon as possible! Physio should help you. I'm thankful every day that mine hasn't come back this time around.

Not looking forward to after pains either.

Starting to get a little bit, just a smidge, bored of being off sick. DD is off today with sickness, also tonsils the size of quails eggs. She's taken my lounging spot under the duvet on the sofa!

Olimoss · 12/03/2013 13:37

I just looked down when out getting lunch and realised that, from my angle at least, I'm massive.

Gah.

Look! i163.photobucket.com/albums/t292/breekom/massivefatgut.jpg

Can you reassure me any of you are the same?!?!

Olimoss · 12/03/2013 13:37

Sorry - this link might work - i163.photobucket.com/albums/t292/breekom/massivefatgut.jpg

RueDeWakening · 12/03/2013 13:59

Sunbeam I found this website helpful re PGP/SPD - lots of info and details on what to expect.

I've just realised I missed a MW appointment this morning, how rubbish am I? Got to phone up and grovel now and hope they can fit me in next week...wish me luck!

MrsBri · 12/03/2013 14:07

I can't even see my feet from that angle!

Olimoss · 12/03/2013 14:10

Excellent! Not just me then....

MrsBri · 12/03/2013 14:25

Nope...you're ahead of me too!

I still don't look pregnant from behind though :-)

pinkbear82 · 12/03/2013 14:37

I was gonna say I can't see my feet!!
I've had two ppl over the last few days saying I look ready to drop. Hmm No still way off of that!

I'm keeping a close eye on all the monitor talk, I have no idea what is best or what I'll do. So the info is lovely!

I'm keeping a less close eye on the 'after birth' parts.... Glad to know about it but don't want to focus on that yet!!!

Names are still going pillar to post here. I have pointed out that with everything going on with DP we may want to at least have a short list so I don't pick something he hates if he's not around towards the end. Altho I suppose it's one extreme way of getting what I want!

Had a morning of sorting my wardrobe out this morning. Feel quite satisfied now. Should really make a start on bubs room. Might have a bit of cake and then see how I go.

With the GTT I was subjected to it because of a family history of diabetes - my mum has it. So they said best to do. 28wk check up tomorrow so guess I'll get all the results then.

forgetmenots · 12/03/2013 14:43

LOVE Keir, sunbeam! though I think it's on my SIL's list and it's not good with my surname - or I may have used it! We are going with Angus if it's a DS, with Gregor as a back-up, but all the names were on a Scottish theme!

Seraphina is lovely too georgie, nice too that she can be 'Sera', heard Ben Affleck calling his little girl that.

I haven't heard anything about GTT which I'm surprised about as my BMI was fairly high (27 if I remember right at my booking in, about 13 weeks in!!)

AlohaMama · 12/03/2013 15:38

Just catching up. Love being reminded of all the post-baby delights Hmm
Though I felt reasonably prepared for birth last time, I didn't feel at all prepared for the stuff after. Spongy belly, painful weeing, piles, constipation, after pains, leaking from everywhere. Its very glamorous!

Lovely names being mentioned.

Olimoss, you can see your toes so it can't be that bad! I always think I look much bigger looking down than if you just look at me iyswim.

And mrsbri, you're obviously a better wife than me!

Sarah2506 · 12/03/2013 15:44

Those of you doing anything other than kissing your partners hello or goodbye are to be saluted. My DH has given up. In between some fairly atrocious underwear, the pillow down the middle of the bed and my firm belief that the bed is for sleeping right now I don't think he'd try. Luckily he thinks that he would poke the baby - I should be so lucky- so that isn't too much on his mind I hope!!

learnermummy · 12/03/2013 16:15

Glad I'm not along Aloha and Sarah Wink.

19 year old I work with is called Keir, and he's lovely!

forgetmenots - think bmi might have to be over 30 for GTT?

learnermummy · 12/03/2013 16:16

alone not along!
