I'm like you, pink...usually ultra organised with lists and spreadsheets, but utterly useless at the moment. I think work takes every ounce of brain power, so then I can't function outside work! :-/

There is a list on the Mothercare Baby Plan card...which would be great if I knew where it was! :-)

I don't feel much like myself these days, what with bump and baby brain!!

Mawgatron · 09/03/2013 09:03

I have leaky boobs! You aren't alone rude!

curiousgeorgie · 09/03/2013 09:05

You're all so organised!!

I've been randomly buying stuff, trying to remember what I already have and hoping it will just all come together in June when I unpack it all!

I'm moving on the 7th June (most likely) which will be good as the house has another bedroom for the baby and is on the same street as our favourite school for DD... But not so good as my due date is two weeks from then. And I have GD so the chances are they won't let me go to 40 weeks Wink

Oops!!

Maybe a list would be a good idea!!

curiousgeorgie · 09/03/2013 09:08

I'm very jealous of you all going to aqua natal! I loved it in my pregnancy with DD but the only classes locally are Wednesday and Friday mornings and I take DD to Gymboree and Ballet then Sad

learnermummy · 09/03/2013 09:15

Also v jealous of aqua natal, nothing near me. Took DS2 swimming yesterday afternoon but that can hardly be described as relaxing!!

MrsBri · 09/03/2013 09:21

Goodness, georgie...that's gonna be tight, isn't it?! At least everybody else will do it for you.

A girl at work moved 9 days before giving birth, and was fine! I wouldn't fancy it, but sometimes there's no choice, is there?

We've decided to be organised by week 30, which sounds like a nice date to do it by, I think. See if that happens!

curiousgeorgie · 09/03/2013 09:30

Yes, I'm not looking forward to it.. The idea of having everything in boxes and unorganised when we bring the baby home is not the best prospect but between my DH, my brothers and my mum, they've promised me its all going to be done and perfect...

I have no faith though Wink

BumbleBee2011 · 09/03/2013 09:35

Hi everyone, happy weekend Smile

I'm coming out of a month of feeling utterly crap, have had what feels like 2 colds back to back...and I think DD has had mild chickenpox this week as well (fever and the odd big spot plus lots of little ones). I've been so tired it's made me weepy and miserable, and my back is killing me! Of course this had made me a delightful person to be around Confused

I think I will copy you ladies and make a list of things to buy for DD2...though I can't think of anything besides newborn nappies and a photo journal...there must be more, surely? Plus a little bed for DD1...

BumbleBee2011 · 09/03/2013 09:37

If it helps curious I'm sure our house looked like we'd just moved when DD was born (for like a month!)

cyclecamper · 09/03/2013 12:27

I'm going to start making a list. I can't do much about baby stuff - pack the cardigan which is the only newborn clothing thing I have and that will be it! I might bung a couple of washable nappies in just in case it comes early and I need something to tide me over till someone can go shopping, otherwise, I suppose I'm going to have to think about doing some shopping soon so that I have something to pack. I've been waiting to see what turns up before spending money.

Littlemissexpecting · 09/03/2013 14:21

That's me back it was amazing, really enjoyed it. It's a private company called puddle ducks that run it, think they are nationwide possibly? They are the only ones I could find on a weekend, my local pools are during the working day. Def worth the money though.

MrsBri · 09/03/2013 14:24

I've just been out and bought a few more clothes, muslin squares, maternity pads etc. Spent loads, but it is kind of necessary!

Found out DH lost his job, but we will be ok for now, for one reason or another. No need to panic yet, even though it is worrying.

At least he is now going to do the nursery this week while I'm at work. Silver linings and all.

pinkbear82 · 09/03/2013 15:08

I really need to sort thru the boxes of things I've been kindly given. Then I might know what else I need!

Mrsbri - sorry to hear about DH - horrible having an extra stress when trying to get things settled. I hope things are OK for you, and thumbs up for the painting of the nursery.

I'm feeling rather 'meh' today, have only just dragged on joggers and a jumper and moved from bed to the sofa. No idea what it is, can't put my finger on anything. Hmm

cyclecamper · 09/03/2013 15:22

Yay! My neighbour came round with a load of bags from her daughter, so my baby isn't going to be naked after all! Grin

littlemiss aquanatal sounds lovely!

MrsBri sorry to hear about your DH's job. That's a worry you don't need. I'm worried that could happen to us - goodness knows what we would do with us both being unemployed. Maternity pads and big pants are on my list of things I can't avoid buying.

MrsBri · 09/03/2013 15:44

I bought some disposable pants today. Glamorous.

Where can I get some granny nighties with button down front in a light cotton? Asda was not my friend.

MrsBri · 09/03/2013 15:48

Oh, and yay for non-naked babies! Both of ours have clothes now :-)

pinkapples · 09/03/2013 15:49

Sorry to hear abou your dh mrsbri my dh lost his job last April and was unemployed for 5 months things will be fine just think positive and yay for painting the nursery my dh is crap at that kind of thing were getting a decorator in Grin

MrsBri · 09/03/2013 16:05

Luckily my DH is a joiner / builder / decorator, so it'll be done to perfection :-) Small mercies.

I'm sure something will come up, it is just what and when.

Littlemissexpecting · 09/03/2013 16:19

Mrs Bri m&s have some online that look quite reasonable.
Looks like its been a productive day. I put a pack of maternity towels in the trolley at Sainsburys earlier. Waiting until his room is finished before I buy much more as its taking over my room! How many packs of maternity towels, breast pads etc is everyone buying?

MrsBri · 09/03/2013 16:31

I was wondering that too, littlemiss, as our nursery cupboards are filling with various padded items!

I got 20 thick ones and 12 slim, plus a pack of maternity mats so I don't soil the car! Nice.

I've also got 130 breast pads. So far!

SunnyL · 09/03/2013 17:28

Cycle camper I am disappointed in you. This means I'm the only one with a naked baby now. I looked at the baby stuff in Tescos today but panicked because I didn't know what size to get, whether it needed short sleeves, long sleeves, legs etc. Will wait until my sister tells me exactly what I need to buy.

I've got the week off now starting today. Absolutely nothing planned so spent the afternoon on the sofa with a book snoozing. Was lovely.

pinkbear82 · 09/03/2013 17:40

Sunny I keep looking at some clothes and then thinking but its June - surely bubs will be too hot in that.... Just stuck to baby grows and sleep suits possibly if I've worked them out right but if it makes you feel any better I probably only have enough to dress baby for two days - so names baby may well be here too Wink

Was stood in tesco last night looking at a million different types of nappies and said to DP how do you know what you need?! He replied 'you just do' ugh

I haven't even looked at pads of any kind yet.... Yikes I might have to get my butt in gear!

curiousgeorgie · 09/03/2013 17:46

I have photos of my SIL's baby from last July and he has a cardigan on... Maybe it was particularly cold!

It's very confusing anyway!!

It was so much easier when I had DD in winter and she just got wrapped up in loads of layers and blankets! Smile

DontmindifIdo · 09/03/2013 18:09

CuriousGeorgie - it was a rather rain soaked miserable summer last year!!! I seem to remember going to the Olympics in a maxi dress and sandals with just a cardie for my shoulders and spending most of it wearing DH's coat...

learnermummy · 09/03/2013 18:27

MrsBri sorry to hear about your OHs job, hope you're not too stressed.
I wouldn't recommend disposable pants, think you're better off with cheap pants from primark/Tesco.
As for nighties I have a couple of maternity/feeding ones from M&S that were only £12 each. They have beast feeding clips but also are spaghetti straps so can just be pulled down for easy feeding. Think they did have a button down one but it looked really frumpy on so I sent back!
