Me too, Littlemiss...drives me mad. Like AmI said though, I'm really thirsty generally, but at night it is chronic.

The ad is what made me order the samples. DH asked me why I'd ordered them...surely it is obvious!

MrsBri · 18/02/2013 21:02

Awwww...baby penguins. So adorable!

Mawgatron · 18/02/2013 21:03

Welcome new ladies! Hope you are all feeling ok!

Glad I'm not the only one struggling to bend over. It's def getting harder to put shoes on each day.

Finally been feeling lots of kicks over the last few days, it's nice to know that little man is ok. I can actually see it from the outside now too, its nloody weird! Had my 24 week appointment today (a week early) , and everything is healthy and going well.

Bshorty, know what you mean about payday, there are so many things I want to buy but have no cash. I know as soon as I get it I will blow it on loads of baby bits!

Have also been feeling pooped, have been in bed since half six watching movies. Roll on penguins at 9!

cyclecamper · 18/02/2013 21:08

littlemiss yes, I'm really thirsty a the time, including at night.

I made myself feel a bit sick sorting out the dining room and taking stuff down to the cellar today. I made space for the tandem that was in the hall so I don't have to move it every time I open the front door, so it was worth it though. It wasn't going to be long before I couldn't squeeze past it to go upstairs so it needed doing! (Dining room is a loose term - we mainly use it for camping and bike storage - it now contains 2 tandems, 2 folders, 8 bikes and a frame!Shock)

My husband is still nesting in the form of baking which is totally fab, even though at this rate they'll have to roll me into the hospital! Today's offering was flapjacks. Yesterday was veggie roast and since Friday we have also had scones, galettes and brioche. It's a good thing that my appetite is currently unusually small!

Littlemissexpecting · 18/02/2013 21:15

So glad it's not just me. DH was getting worried and reading about gestational diabetes!!

Mawgatron · 18/02/2013 21:20

I was worrying about diabetes too, been feeling faint in the afternoons and have type 1 in the family, but my midwife said I need to eat more regularly. Having the glucose test in the Easter hols

redwellybluewelly · 18/02/2013 22:12

OK baby can now tickle me from inside and it responds to DH and to DD if they speak close to bump. It particularly likes bedtime stories.

It likes me giggling but goes sleepy after food, and it does this weird thing which feels like a sudden jerk, and is almost painful.

MW tomorrow when I can ask about movements, its odd to think yesterday I was worried after today's frantic gymnastics. And (TMI) swollen labia which I don't remember from dc1. And this bump ache which just lingers. Suspect my decision to work to 37+4 will be questioned as well.

cyclecamper can see how you got your nn!

Morning all!

This little one is definitely getting more active too which is nice and reassuring! Most kicks and punches are in the same places but at about 4 this morning she seemed to move position for the first time that I could tell anyway! She's back to her usual again now though.

Have a good day everyone! I'm hoping that today is less tiring than yesterday.

MrsBri · 19/02/2013 07:30

Morning!

Baby B is currently wriggling round and kicking me. He's definitely getting stronger as DH is feeling the movement /kicks far more than he was.

I really can't tell what some of the movements are or what direction is being travelled in, but they're funny!

Redwelly, I get tickled from the inside all the time. I love it! I should start reading to baby, rather than talking banal rubbish at him!

Littlemissexpecting · 19/02/2013 08:47

Morning!
Yes my movements are very odd, still no specific pattern and I'm not really sure what he's doing but DH can now feel something so that's good! When should you start counting kicks etc?
Counting down the days till my next mw appt (not till march!) as my 20 week scan feels like a decade ago! I'm hoping they listen for hb again?

MrsBri · 19/02/2013 08:53

Hi Littlemiss...they should check for the heartbeat every time now, I think.

And 25 weeks to count movement. :-)

Morning all - thank u for the lovely welcome. It's lovely to read everyone's stories. Smile

Had wonderful heartburn last night, ended up almost sleeping sitting up just to try and help it - apart from feeling like I wanted to drink a whole bottle of gaviscon!

Mind you, DP did day as we got into bed last night that even if he was the best problem solver ever, I've got too many for him to know where to start Wink (I may have had a moany day yesterday!!)

Olimoss · 19/02/2013 09:41

Welcome to the new joiners....I was thinking it seems so long ago we were all anxious about booking in appts and 12 week scans and things.

It seems the first half of this whole palaver goes so much more quickly than the second half - we have so many milestones to make in weeks 1-20, but after the 20-week scan it's just waiting and monitoring!

After 6 weeks of solid kicking and moving about, my baby has started to what I can only describe as 'swing' in the lying-in-a-hammock position he's in at the moment. Makes me feel a bit seasick.....

learnermummy · 19/02/2013 09:51

redwellybluewelly i have really swollen labia too Blush even went to doctors as it's quite uncomfortable but she said it was nothing. I don't remember having it before either. Last midwife appt was 16 weeks and then don't have another til 28 weeks! As a third timer I'm obviously not worth too much worrying about!
Think I'm going to have to invest in a pillow, woke every 2 hours last night switching from left to right side. I know left is best but do seem more comfy on the right.

peardrop2 · 19/02/2013 10:09

Is anyone else growing out of there maternity clothes? Maybe I've just brought the wrong things but I've discovered that my gap denim maternity skirt with stretchy band no longer fits today. Neither does my smart black skirt from serraphine. I'm feeling slightly annoyed as I assumed maternity clothing would fit me the whole way through Ahhh! Shock I'm considering weighing myself. Maybe I've put weight on my hips too Hmm

peardrop2 · 19/02/2013 10:11

Oh and my Hennes maternity tights no longer fit as well! Hmm

MrsBri · 19/02/2013 10:12

One of my tops appears to be on the way to being too small now, annoyingly.

Hoping my work clothes last til I finish though, but suppose that depends on my bump!

Olimoss · 19/02/2013 10:13

Peardrop2 - my shape has changed and where I've put weight on isn't in the same place it would if I was just getting fat, if that makes sense! It's gone on around the back of my hips, so I'm 'thicker' there than otherwise. Legs and arms and stuff are the same, gut is obviously now a babygut, but there's a definite general thickening when I see myself side-on. If I look from the front I still have a waist but I reckon it's on borrowed time....

I can't wear trousers anymore, not even maternity ones, just too uncomfy...

suzyrut · 19/02/2013 10:16

Morning ladies and what a busy weekend everyone's been having.

Welcome to the new joiners Smile

Was going to ask about braxton hicks and thank goodness yet again it looks like our symptoms are totally in synch, I'd thought it was too early but after I went swimming on Sunday (which the baby did not seem to like at all) I'm sure I felt some tightenings and hardening of my bump, wasn't painful but neither was it pleasant, is that them, definitely didn't have them with other two???

Glad the move went well mrsbri sounds like you're nearly there which is amazing going for one weekend.

I've got leave to use up so am selfishly decorating our bedroom, and when I say I am decorating my input extends to perusing farrow and ball paint charts and ordering some new cushions and stuff xx

peardrop2 · 19/02/2013 12:23

Olimoss - oh thank goodness it sounds like I've got the same thing. It's like someone has come along and put an extra layer behind my back which means I no longer fit my very baggy non-maternity dresses. I did weigh myself and I've put on 9lbs. A little scary but hopefully normal.

MrsBri - quite pleased to hear I'm not alone! Silly me thinking one size fits the whole 3 trimesters Grin

And as for Braxton hicks. I get them 2/3 times a day. Like you say it's not painful but just a firm feeling and sometimes I change position or stand up to make them go away.

peardrop2 · 19/02/2013 12:25

Suzy - my baby hates me swimming so I can't do it. Tried it twice and found it very uncomfortable!

Sunbeam18 · 19/02/2013 12:54

Feel suddenly big too - circumference from right below my boobs round my back seems to have expanded a lot. Going to try swimming this afternoon as am away on a 3-day break in a nice hotel with pool with my mum and sis.
Well done on the move MrsBri. I'm another one who is still to move. DP and I rather unconventionally live apart but in the same street at the moment and we are going to rent out my flat and I'm moving into his. Hopefully this is all going to come together within the next month or so xx

MrsBri · 19/02/2013 13:18

I definitely feel more solid...my thighs seem hefty and my arms are also fatter, it would appear.

I still could get away with not looking pregnant from behind, if you didn't know how slim I was before, but I'm certainly more solid.

Which takes me onto how thin Kate Middleton is still. Bearing in mind bodies do what they do, regardless of who you are, isn't it typical she's not expanding massively?!

peardrop2 · 19/02/2013 13:25

I'm not surprised about Kate because I only started expanding at 24 weeks. Which is why I'm having a OMG what just happened to my body moment. I don't think she's 20 weeks yet is she? Also, think of the nutrition and exercise she's given on a plate! She is certainly not at home stressing about how to afford all this baby stuff while stuffing her face with Lindt chocolates Grin
