I thought you knew you were having a girl faith.

I ignored the runny egg advice too. I felt like such a rebel!

I have become a really snobby mummy.

One of the chavs mummys from my ante-natal class is going on on FB about weaning her little boy who is about 16 weeks. Apparently weaning means licking bread and chocolate. She says she is weaning him now because he won't take his bottle. Poor little bugger :(

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 26/03/2013 17:24

At the scan the baybee's legs were in the air. What she said was Well I can't see any boy bits.. so we have been calling it 'she' but it would be useful to know!

dor- I know someone who has a baybee the same age and has started him on porridge etc and posted photos on FB. My judgey pants were pretty high!

I too have been known to partake in a few runny eggs.

I won't need a full bladder for this scan will I? Pickle must be pretty huge by now...

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 27/03/2013 08:04

Nah it'll be fine. I'd have pissed the bed if I'd have to have a full bladder!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 27/03/2013 08:13

It'll be full after 10ml of water anyway! I'm up for at least two pees a night now. Nights seem very long!

OP posts:
MsJupiterJones · 27/03/2013 10:01

No you don't need a full bladder. Hope all goes well. L's bum was sticking right out & I was convinced it was his head but no. Anyway even if it comes to it a planned CS isn't the end of the world, I had a pretty good experience & still had skin to skin and all that jazz straight away. Recovery not too bad either.

We're at the airport off to visit the ILs for Easter. Apparently having a cute baybee gets you through security much quicker, who knew?!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 27/03/2013 11:16

Hooray we are head down Grin lump is bottom and legs it seems. Baby is measuring about 50 centilitre so on the dinky side. She was pretty sure it is a girl too! Phew Smile

OP posts:
HavingALittleFaithBaby · 27/03/2013 11:17

centile!

bluer · 27/03/2013 12:51

Ah that's great news...puts your mind at rest and lets you know to buy pinks'

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 27/03/2013 13:09

Yes. Very ressssuring as well because my friend lost her DD around this time in pregnancy so I'm reassured to see a healthy heart in there :) MSB now has to get his head back round a natural birth!

OP posts:
HavingALittleFaithBaby · 27/03/2013 13:09

By 'natural' I mean vaginal....and baybee coming when it's good and ready..

OP posts:
bluer · 27/03/2013 13:15

Oh your poor friend Sad
Are you going to be keeping him up the head end then? !

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 27/03/2013 15:16

Yes it was beyond awful :(

MSB is firm that he is staying at my head. Doesn't even want to cut the cord!

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 27/03/2013 16:53

Hahaha The Mister was fascinated with my nether regions. He cut the cord and even checked out the stitching!

bluer · 27/03/2013 17:02

Ah dor is he normally ok with that sort of thing? Mr.df is what you call squeamish! Tbh I'm happy that he's up the head end but I get the feeling I'll be past caring by that point! He's already said he doesn't fancy cutting the cord...it makes me a bit Sad and I don't fancy doing it either!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 27/03/2013 18:04

MSB refers to it as the 'business' end. He hates all things medical, will be bad enough for me to be in hospital! I will encourage him to focus on helping me breathe and get through it!

My luffly Dad has been round to help me with cleaning. Behind the bed is clean (mega ew before!), hall cupboard space is clear so Hoover is now easy to get in and out, he's cleaned the inside of the windows and I've done a couple of drawers in the kitchen. He's agreed same time next week! :) I do feel like the house is coming together now which makes me happy. Nesting differ, I am.

snowqueenrollo · 28/03/2013 11:50

HOLB is a bit squeamish....though he said he found it distressing to see me in such obvious pain and he could do nothing. Hard to explain to him it is an endurable pain to a greater degree because of why you are experiencing it.
The m/w asked him if he wanted to look as baby was crowning and the head emerging, to see his little face first but he declined. He said to me that he thinks my lady bits are beautiful and he didn't want to see them being all mangled!! He did cut the cord though. I left it to him if he wanted to....and when the m/w asked him he said no to begin with so I asked my doula to do it instead (i wanted it to be cut by someone other than a medical professional, I would have done it myself if need be), but then I think he came down to earth a bit and said actually he would like to. It meant a lot to me as with BigPrince the m/w cut it because my ex refused.

FriendofDorothy · 28/03/2013 12:08

I am starting to think that The Mister is quite hardcore. He was fascinated with the business end of things!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 28/03/2013 12:24

We have been going over the principle of endurable/finite pain. MSB has unfortunately seen me in lots of pain and distress twice before - last year when I was in with my urology problems and 3 years ago when I had a horrible virus (to be fair, the latter was worse). I am encouraging him to think that labour will be endurable because I know I can cope with severe pain and indeed both those episodes lasted a lot longer than I expect labour to! I do wonder if MSB will actually get drawn in to the 'business' end when the time comes because curiosity re the baybee will get the better of him?!

I am at the delightful ?! point in pregnancy where in some ways I am knackered - was up inhaling steam at 3am - and partly want this kid out now while the other half of me is slightly terrified at the prospect. Not so much the labour now but the actual being a parent....

Luffly to see you around these parts again queenie.

blue how are you feeling?

jeff did you tell your colleagues?

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 28/03/2013 12:35

It seems to me that being a parent, whilst not exactly easy, the sheer magnitude of it means that it is entirely possible to live completely in denial and assume everything is fine!

MsJupiterJones · 28/03/2013 15:13

I know exactly what you mean Faith. I remember even in theatre thinking that.

When we still thought I was on for a vaginal, TBI said, I'll stay up the head end with you. I laughed like a drain at this. IT'S ALL ME, I said. I may have said this repeatedly, with increasing hysteria, for about two weeks.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 28/03/2013 15:46

Oh hamster looks awful and I'm taking him to the vet, probably to be PTS. I am too pregnant to cope with these emotions! My sister is coming with me! :(

OP posts:
HavingALittleFaithBaby · 28/03/2013 23:24

Oh my, SIL and her DP are visiting. Tonight he declared we must have another on the grounds that its selfish to have one etc etc. I explained it took so long to get Pickle we didn't know how it would pan out with DC2. Seriously though, can I have this one first?! I luff the idea of two but I dunno how easily that would happen and I actually don't want to rush it! I like the idea of non-diffed SFF for a while! Why do people have to impose their views on you all the time?!
NB they have no DCs yet or any imminent plans Confused

OP posts:
bluer · 29/03/2013 05:08

Hi all! Oh faith poor wee fella Sad
I'm on my sixth night of coughing, choking and nose blowing. I would kill for a decent nights sleep...last night was the worst and I ended up in the spare room. I saw every hour.
Went into work on wed and was sent home by my boss (proper boss and friend) whilst the other one Sat there making me feel bad as apparently everyone is tired etc. therefore implying I was being a wimp and pain.
Spent today at wedding with my dad and sis etc. was a lovely day but I spent a lot of time in my dads room between ceremony and dinner as I was too shattered. Got to see the first dance and then mr.df whisked me home, well two hour drive anyway.
TodayI experienced the compete stranger stoking your bump thing...many many times! Even men...mr.df suggested I start grabbing boobs or balls Grin
