10 what a worrying time for you, but glad they're taking good care of you and have signed you off. I hope you've got plenty of magazines, box sets and chocolates to at least enjoy while you're resting. As others have said with each day and week that passes your LO will be getting stronger, how many weeks are you now?

berri how prem was your DS?

ukfirestorm · 15/01/2013 21:28

My wife is expecting in May, dead excited, and found out its a girl, glad i found this thread.

ArtigeneAuberchoke · 15/01/2013 21:32

Wow 10 you are really having a worrying time. How many weeks are you now? I have a friend who had her baby at 26 weeks exactly with no warning, so no steroids, and after a rough few months in ICU he defied all expectations and is now 2 with no real lasting problems. Thinking of you.

beaver33 · 15/01/2013 21:44

Thinking of you, 10, but looks like you're in safe hands again. You must be 24 weeks now (or thereabouts) which, remember, is the point at which most premature babies survive. Obviously we all hope you don't have to think like that, but it's reassuring nonetheless and it sounds like whatever the issue with the bleed, your baby is going from strength to strength. Good for you!

Really feel for you, though. You need some good box set recommendations. Are you up on the Killing? The Bridge? Game of Thrones? Prison Break (shit but awesome)?

scooby seriously? They sound like even more of a nightmare every time you post! Everything crossed for you that it works out timing-wise for all parties...

ukfirestorm wow, welcome! I think you're our first non-pregnant male member! Delighted for your wife, ad that you're having a wee girl (must even out our numbers now, I think?).

10- really pleased to hear DH being fab- just what you need. Enjoy the peace and feet up!

My thoughts exactly re viewing- surely the time to view and satisfy yourself is long before you offer and allow your seller to spend lots of money on fees etc.. And they do know I'm pregnant. It just all seems rather bad manners....don't know how I'm gonna last til fri lunchtime... I've insisted on exchange by then as so much to do..or not if they pull out! Surely you either wanna buy a house or you don't?

MaybeAMayBaby · 16/01/2013 07:23

10 I'm so sorry. I also know lots of preemies who are now toddlers or older. Last two were twins at 29 weeks (so only marginally bigger than a single at 24-25 weeks). They are nearly 3 and have been fine. Good luck and fingers crosses for the next few weeks.

scooby are they first time buyers? Even so, they are really pushing it. The awful thing is, they know that they've got you over a barrel and that you have to agree. Personally, I'd agree and say 'yes' to whenever they want to complete and then turn round (as long as you've exchanged) and say you need a few more days. In both cases that I've bought, I've exchanged and completed on the same day. It wasn't until quite recent that I realised this wasn't the norm!

Welcome fire. You might find some of our comments abit tmi. Has anyone else got incredibly sore boobs at the mo? I can feel the milk glands! Very painful last night.
And my DD is really playing up at nights. She doesn't want me at all. She has turned into a proper daddy's girl. I'm worries it's connected to the pregnancy. She won't even let me hug her some times. She wet the bed twice last night after being dry for about 14 months. It's starte already and the baby isn't even here!

ng1412 · 16/01/2013 12:46

10 look after yourself and get lots of rest.

My DD is also upping the pace, she has had me running around after her all day, the terrible two stage appears to have come 4 months early. The amount of times I have told her to stop doing stuff today is ridiculous.

I am feeling so restless and bored. Bored of rubbish daytime tv and bored of being on my own all day. Weather doesn't help, it is about -7 and snowy outside so no way I am venturing out.

Oh to be in a warm English speaking country right now!

HenD19 · 16/01/2013 14:27

10 glad to hear you're being positive and taking it easy.

Welcome fire! It will be funny for you to hear the other side from us all although we tend to be quite positive about our DHs!

My DH and I were chatting last night about how the new baby will impact on our other 2 dc. We think our dd aged 5 will be fine but think it will be hard on DS aged2 as he'll have to get used to mummy having a lot less time for him. I think he's my main worry but remember feeling the same over my dd when I was pregnant with DS. Things change so much for them.....

berri · 16/01/2013 16:32

Seven my waters broke at 31 weeks and he was born 10 mins into week 32 :)

berri · 16/01/2013 16:37

Scooby these people sound mental!! I think you're totally right to just put your foot down over your deadline, otherwise they'd just be messing you around. Terrible how these things work out through the solicitor - I'm sure if you had to have face-to-face meetings with your buyers there's no way they'd take the piss so much! When it's faceless like this people think they can get away with anything!
Fingers crossed it works itself out on Friday!

shelly81 · 16/01/2013 20:30

Pissed off & fed up :-( sick to death of bein ill now full of a cold again only been back at work a week & half arghhhh what's happened to my bloody immune system :-( xx sorry ladies rant over now xx

Ellypoo · 16/01/2013 20:52

Hi hope everyone is doing ok - 10, glad your DH is looking after you so well!!

Welcome fire, will be great to hear a DPs side of things!!

Well, I have spent 7.5 hrs in a car today and a couple of hours walking round a building site so I can barely walk now - expected to suffer because of the PGP, even though I wore a support belt, so think ill be working from hone tomorrow & fri to rest!! Am snuggled on sofa in front of lovely log burner now - DH has gone to a comedy night!!

24 wk MW appt tomorrow! Looking forward to hearing the HB again even though I can feel loads of movements.

24+1

Rhienne · 16/01/2013 21:00

I feel for you Shelly. I have the lastest in my constant run of illness, a really nasty cough with fever. Blaaaahhh!!!

Went to the doctor (again - I swear this new GP thnks I go running to him at the slightest sign of a cough) and it's the usual... Virus...drink lots...rest...wait for it to go over. Sigh. Though he did say there is a tiny chance that constant sickness during pregnancy is caused by thyroid issues, so he's sent the paperwork to the lab, and when I'm up to it I can go past and have it checked. Part of me wants it to be true, as then something can be done about it! That's the samll part of me that's not just hanging out for the day when I get back some semblance of an immune system.

Does anyone have any experience of super-extra low immune system being caused by lack of particular nutrients? I take multivitamins and extra iron...

ArtigeneAuberchoke · 17/01/2013 08:46

Sorry to hear about your constant illnesses Shelley and Rhienne. I had a terrible time after the birth of DD2, I actually started to worry something was very seriously the matter as I was ill constantly. I started a concerted effort to drink lots of water, cut out all processed foods and eat fresh, exercise every other day and go to bed early. I also too extra Vit C, Zinc and echinacea. Not sure which bit of that was the key but something worked.

Any more news on the move Scooby?

And good luck with your first steroid shot today 10.

I hope the PGP settles Elly. Have you tried pregnancy Pilates? I've heard it can work miracles.

I had my 20 week check at the GP yesterday (I'm actually 22+3 but I forgot to make the 20 week appt). Unfortunately I got a student GP who said shed never done an antenatal check and then looked utterly freaked when she realised I had a history of pre-eclampsia. She took my BP which was 116/63 at my last check and was 123/66 yesterday. Even I know that isn't a rise and just a teeny fluctuation but she insisted I go to the hosp antenatal clinic. Such a bore. They laughed out loud at her notes and sent me straight back to work.

scooby26 · 17/01/2013 11:49

Morning

Sorry to all those poorly- hope u pick up soon.
10- hope today's steroids go ok- every day/ week makes him stronger.

Well a rather amusing turnup today re house move- some furniture arrived today! For our non buyer! :-). Let's see if he's buying after tonight's viewing- we will know one way or the other within 24 hrs.....

Your 'buyers' do sound very odd scooby! I hope that you get a definite answer v v soon.

10 glad the appt was ok - how many injections/sets of injections do you get? I will be having the steroid injections at 32 weeks too, so just wondered what to expect!

I have just ordered stuff for my hospital bag from boots - tiny baby nappies, cotton wool, maternity & breast pads etc. Looking forward to it arriving, then I can get my bag packed up ready!

We have really bad snow forecast here for later today/tomorrow and the weekend - does anyone else have any? I'm not planning on leaving the house unless I absolutely have to!!

SevenReasonsToSmile · 17/01/2013 16:29

I agree your buyers do sound mad scooby. What on earth did you say to the person delivering it? Hope you manage to get the exchange tomorrow.

elly did you say before you're having an ELCS at 36 weeks? Mine were 35+5 and 35+6, 4lb 9oz and 5lb 4oz. Never bothered with tiny nappies just started on size 1.

We were going to buy DDs first shoes today, DH went to the recycling centre earlier and said roads round here are awful, the main A road near us had t even been gritted so we thought better of it. The garage is empty though, builders start at 8am :o

Ellypoo · 17/01/2013 16:44

Hi seven, yes that's right - all being well, there is a chance that they might perform the CS earlier though if there are any problems, and DD1 was really small (4lb 15.5oz) so assumed that size 1 nappies would be too big - I have loads of the newborn/size 1 from last time, so I just ordered 2 packs of the tiny ones, just in case - they were on offer, so not too worried if they are too small - can always gift them to the neonatal unit at hospital maybe?

Can't believe they haven't gritted the main road - that just sounds crazy!!

Trying again to light the fire - couldn't manage it earlier, I'm a bit rubbish!!!

Ellypoo · 17/01/2013 16:45

Oh, and woohoo to builders starting tomorrow - that's so exciting!! Have they given you a timescale? Hope it gets done really quickly for you!!!

beaver33 · 17/01/2013 16:50

scooby are you serious??? I know it's actually a good sign in your case - it's all relative, after all - but I'd be FURIOUS at their damn cheek.

scooby26 · 17/01/2013 17:53

So the house tale continues....

Buyer and family arrived and seemed reasonable plausible- sadly two mins before they arrived I had a call from my sols saying they aren't proceedable as waiting for tick in box from mortg company which may not now come til early next week- ( Apparant) natwest stowed off ??!!) their sols thinks the only solution is for us to spend more money ie book removals and plan to move fri as all will be fine.... Yeah rite!

As soon as in the door they apologised for having the 80 quid item delivered but stated it must reassure us .....hmmm believable?!! I'm still concerned come next week they will redemand money which we won't pay and all be off again as they may think we may be more over a barrel by then...

So upshot we have restated no exchange by tomorrow no move next fri... End off. I fully expect an email tomorrow saying they've pulled out!

10 Sorry to hear you haven't healed as well as hoped.Im sure that everything will work out well.Ok you may not go to term but baby has proven to be strong so I don't think you will have baby too early. You are already at a safer stage. You are being looked after I hope and I second or third the box sets and chocs Grin

Scooby Goodness I really feel for you.The buyers sound utterly odd.Hope you get sorted soon.

I am getting really excited now.Its my birthday next week and we were supposed to be going out for a meal at the weekend. However, the snow has started to fall and I've a feeling we may be getting a fair bit.I don't mind staying in at the weekend I've no energy.

23+0

Ellypoo · 17/01/2013 18:11

Oh scooby what a total nightmare - am still keeping fingers crossed that you manage to exchange tomorrow by some miracle. this is so unfair of your buyers & sols, and I would be exactly the same as you - stand your ground, and I certainly wouldn't feel safe in paying out any more money out until you had some guarantees. Your buyers are really playing some games, I really feel for you x

Happy birthday for next week beaut - I don't blame you for wanting to stay in - I feel exactly the same!!
