Ha Hen we call the pillow Camilla AKA the other person in our relationship! It's crazy already with 2 LOs i know but they don't stay little forever :-( and I always felt like someone was missing at the table. Even just been pregnant with no 3 feels like we are complete now.

aberjen · 13/01/2013 17:09

DP and I have been together 8 years and expecting dc1. My mother still asked 'was it planned' closely followed by 'so are you going to get married'. Harrumph!

shelly81 · 13/01/2013 18:09

I think most people are shocked because our boys are going to be 13 & 11 wen this little lady arrives so it is like starting again a suppose. DS2 referred to her as ?our baby? today for the first time I nearly cried as upto now she has been mums baby :-)) happy mummy here xxXx

Wirrawoo · 13/01/2013 18:19

boodstress camilla hahaha!!! Grin those massive preggie pillows do seem quite an addition to the sleeping arrangements. Spent a long time in mothercare trying to work out which one to get and ended up not getting any 'cos I couldn't decide!

DP and I have been together 4 years, this baby is very much planned, everyone predicted we would get hitched frm the moment we got together and the response from everyone has been universally overjoyed and brilliant except future MIL and SIL :( his mum in her current state can't handle that he might be marrying for love and has converted the concept in her mind to it being just a legal convenience for kids (despite knowing that he has wanted to marry me for ages and was only putting it off in the hope of her attitude towards us improving). Her congratulations to me was just,"well done. Well that's sorted then." The baby response was more just passive aggressive veiled hints that it was all me and I've now trapped him into a life she thinks he's too young for (he's 30). Must channel Zen like compassionate vibes and just ignore it from now on. Her loss, I'm quite a nice DIL to have really Wink.

Boodstress · 13/01/2013 19:05

Poor you wirra - I hope I never become that sort of MIL to future daughter in Law material. We used to get a lot of stick for doing things 'backwards' but these days they have a whole new set of gripes Grin

aberjen · 13/01/2013 20:07

Awwww wirra Sad Very in awe that you remain so gracious

SevenReasonsToSmile · 13/01/2013 22:09

Sympathies about your MIL wirra, definitely her loss. I'm quite lucky with my MIL, though I'm not convinced my parents like DH that much. I have already sworn that when my DCs have grown up and have partners as long as they're happy then I will be happy for them, as parents isn't that all we want for our DCs to be happy?

shelly that's very cute of your DS. Mine is much younger but was insisting he didnt want us to have another baby, I'd been starting to get worried tbh that he was feeling pushed out. Anyway the last few days he's started putting his hand on my belly when I say the baby's moving and singing to my bump, so very happy mummy here too :)

DH and I have been together for 9 years, and married for 6 years in March.

shelly81 · 14/01/2013 16:34

DP & I have been together for 17 years this year childhood sweethearts haha xx

SevenReasonsToSmile · 14/01/2013 16:35

Did I kill the thread? Hope everyone is having a good day wherever you all are :).

I've finally started feeling proper kicks the last couple of days after 8 weeks of tiny flutters, DH felt it for the first time too last night.

How much weight has everyone put on so far? I've still only put on half a pound, though I'm large enough already that it doesn't really matter I guess. It's not intentional, I'm just not craving the junk I did in my previous pregnancies and for some (I assume psychological?!) reason I'm rarely finishing my main meal, even though I'm not necessarily full once I've eaten just over half of it I just don't want any more.

Ellypoo · 14/01/2013 16:41

I think I've put on about a stone so far, but I'm not really weighing or worried about it. I put on loads last time, and was still 3 stone heavier when I fell pg this time to last time, but I'm not eating as much rubbish as i did last time - I used it as a total excuse, having been on weightwatchers for what seemed like years!!!

Yay to proper kicks seven - it's just the best feeling, isn't it! Lovely that your DH can feel them too!!

Have started to make a list for hospital bag today (have the day off from work which is good because we have some snow here and it's very slippy out, although I'm sure the main roads are clear) - reach the 24 week milestone tomorrow, so will be on countdown!! Next milestone is 28 weeks.

I hope everyone is keeping safe and warm - it's been so mild so far this January, it seems weird that it's so cold now!!!

23+6

SevenReasonsToSmile · 14/01/2013 16:47

Wow to being 24 weeks elly. I'm right at the back of the thread, only 20+3. I was pleased to reach 20 weeks though.

BeauticianNotMagician · 14/01/2013 16:53

Wirra Sorry that you have a mean MIL.Im quite lucky I usually get on quite well with MIL which is nice as I'm not close to my own mum at all. However,I wasn't impressed by her reaction to her first grandson Hmm

I have put on a stone so far.I was hoping to only put on a stone the entire pregnancy.Im 11 stone now and only 5'2 Blush

BeauticianNotMagician · 14/01/2013 16:54

Oops should read stone and half was 9st 5 to start

BeauticianNotMagician · 14/01/2013 16:54

I'm 22 +4

ng1412 · 14/01/2013 17:15

I have put on about ten pounds and I weigh about the same as I did when pregnant with DD although I must say I do feel a lot bigger. I am also getting heartburn and back pain a lot earlier then I did with DD, plus pain in my sternum which is very annoying.

I am falling apart! DH just ignores me now when I start moaning. He went through it all when I was pregnant with DD and now he has to go through it all again...poor thing!

22+1

GeordieCherry · 14/01/2013 17:30

I'm thinking of getting one of those V shaped pillows for sleeping a little bit upright. The heartburn is soooooo uncomfortable Confused

Think we've decided on a Graco Evo pushchair. Thoughts anyone? It has good reviews...

Re: the MIL, my own Mum said "are you getting married?" as the first thing she said. Yet to say congrats actually! She has got over herself though & I didn't get upset. Thank you Al-Anon Wink

Weight-wise I have no idea, I don't weigh myself as it's not good for me. Maybe a stone..? Doing some exercise most days & not denying myself anything I want to eat except pate, rare steak, nice blue cheese, red wine, raw sushi...etc..!

Did a risk assessment today & I'm not allowed to work with one of my groups any more due to risk of violence or bodily fluids. It's never happened in 6 years but hey ho. Very disappointing Sad

22+2 with a little wriggler Envy

Boodstress · 14/01/2013 17:30

I've put on a stone and heard you put on 1-2 pounds a week from now! Ill put on about 2 and a half last two times. I am smaller than I was before at this point I think (not weight wise) but I'm sure ill get my comedy bump again, which is all in front like a man in a cannon ball is waiting to shoot out.

24+4

ng1412 · 14/01/2013 17:35

Geordie I have a V shaped pillow but I just don't get on with it, it made my hips ache when I slept with it between my legs. Maybe I should try it as a pillow although it seems a bit too big for that. it is a monster! Gutted as I really can't get comfortable in bed.

Have you got some gaviscon? It comes with me everywhere, I couldn't do without it.

BeauticianNotMagician · 14/01/2013 17:39

I second the gaviscon Geordie I can't stand the peppermint but the aniseed one is ok.I leave a bottle by my bed and carry one around with me as well.Im afraid I just swig from the bottle Blush

GeordieCherry · 14/01/2013 17:40

Wirra: don't have too much tea as it can deplete the iron. Hurray for steak though! Oh, & it might be because you're lying on your back you get dizzy. There's some vein there that gets squashed by the baby after 16 weeks. Hope it improves for ya Smile

GeordieCherry · 14/01/2013 17:57

Got Rennie Extra in my handbag, some Tesco own brand in the car & Gaviscon tablets by the bed
Chamomile tea is helping too
If it gets much worse I'll go to the Dr, want to get some benefit from the free prescription!

I was thinking the Camilla-pillow would double for feeding too..?

ng1412 · 14/01/2013 18:04

Geordie you are well stocked up then!

I only bought the pillow for this pregnancy so no idea about feeding but I think friends said they are good. I just stuck a normal pillow under DD when I was feeding.

GeordieCherry · 14/01/2013 18:08

Hahaha NG! It's cos I kept forgetting to take stuff with me & feeling like I was going to do a dragon-y puke

We have such a weeny house that it would be best for pillows (& everything!) to be double use e.g. cot top changing table Smile

SevenReasonsToSmile · 14/01/2013 18:14

geordie what job do you do?

I've never got on with extra pillows in pregnancy, at least I'm knackered after chasing DD around all day :o

scooby26 · 14/01/2013 18:28

Hi all-

Still stressing/waiting over house complications...argh.

But I did get a lovely fit note today from my lovely gp that I don't have to work after 11pm or before 8am ;-)
