That's fantastic news MissM!

Photographer I get a pain sometimes when I sit down that kind of runs right up my bump. And random shooting pains in my bits. From what I've read it seems to be normal.

Mixed news here, cat has to go in tomorrow to have a full biopsy as the vet thinks he has a tumour in his stomach. Better news than the alternative diagnosis of an incurable and fatal virus so he lives to fight another day. I'm having another creme egg to celebrate.

BadMissM · 15/01/2013 16:15

Thanks dinky mightbemad devilforasideboard Am just soooo relieved!!!

CottonSock · 15/01/2013 17:41

Good news on the kitty..

Re cervix pain, I asked the midwife. All quite normal. she had a theory that it could be baby bumping into cervix, but I was not quite convinved.

Had first person at work today come out and ask if I was preggers. Guess it will be full on maternity gear soon (already in trousers). everyone asking me if feeling movements, but nothing yet.

I will vote for mini eggs over creme eggs any day, anyone else with me??? mmmm mini eggs.. I lost weight last week, so will have to treat myself. should be gaining a pound a week by now I read.

today, the bump started to feel a bit 'heavy'... I was kind of enjoying it being there but not annoying.

17 + 1

photographerlady · 15/01/2013 19:09

Thank you everyone it's actually stopped when I got home to sit on my bump on a comfy sofa. Thanks for the tips and I think it might be the increased petting with the DH :p

twirliedobbit · 15/01/2013 19:41

Wow I leave you all for a couple of weeks and we have good scans, girls, boys and a duchess!!! So exciting!
I am good feeling more awake as days go by but that might be down to the 9pm bed times.

For those looking at pushchairs I am going to vote for the iCandy peach again. Had one last time around (with carrycot and chair) and LOVED it I walk alot, shop alot, drive alot and it suited everything. Like someone (sorry on phone and can't remember who) said its quite big in the boot but with 3 kids I have a big car anyway. It also converts very easily into a double for when/if the time comes! Unfortunately came too late for me so no chance to try out the double but I liked how they could face each other.

Feeling some flutters but nothing much you'd think by the 4th of recognise it a mile off, maybe bubba is just well cushioned with all the cakes! And please stop all this talk of mini eggs and creme eggs I'm afraid I can't choose so have to go and try them both again now Grin

mysterymeg · 15/01/2013 19:41

I totally agree with cotton about mini eggs. Actually considering popping to Tesco now even though I haven't finished my Christmas choccy yet!

This is my first but I'm def not DoC as I'm mahoosive. Fave comment so far was from my sister: "Chloe is more pregnant than you. Why do you look so much bigger than her?". Sad is there something wrong with me? There's definitely only one in there but my bump is tge same size as my colleagues and she's 22 weeks!!

14 + 4

Cutandstick · 15/01/2013 19:55

I have a bump that I'm quite concerned the MW is going to say is all belly and not much baby tomorrow and its long to be terribly embarrassing! Blush it's not that I've put on weight (until this weekends pig out!) just I've got a new big tummy - all the trickier as I'm trying to disguise it at work from parents and some staff. My cousin is on her second and is 8 weeks ahead of me, her clothes are just getting tight..... My clothes are in the loft! ...so no I'm not the DoC! Lol!

Abzs · 15/01/2013 20:01

Had scan no. 4 today. Small is fine and seemed to be scratching its head, growth bang on for date of 15+2.

However, also growing is the endometrioma - now 57mm. Not good, especially when the registrar mentioned the surgery word. I'm booked for another scan in two weeks to see if it keeps growing.

I've also got those two weeks to sort out my diet, drink gallons of water, and hope the constipation (me too) goes away. Then they can monitor the pain from the endometriosis better. Unfortunately though, that rocking tip is not working for me...

Cheeseandbread · 15/01/2013 20:43

Thanks for all the info on cervix pains, glad to know I'm not alone.

Just eaten most of a tube of mini eggs on offer in sainsburys at the moment they get my vote.

DH and I are going to leave the sex of bean a supprise I think.

Oh and I'm not the Duchess either despite this being my first.

CitizenOscar · 15/01/2013 20:47

We plan to find out the sex of our baby at the 20 week scan. We found out last time too and we both felt it really helped with getting our heads around the impending arrival of a real baby. I wasn't keen to find out initially but DH really wanted to and I was pleased we did.

lizincornwall · 15/01/2013 21:37

Hi girls, sorry it's been a while (back at work after a nice long break to move house. booo). Fab to hear scans going well. Sorry to hear about cevix pain and cats keepingour worry levels up! Hope it turns out ok...

Had our scan last week, and I'm 12 weeks (thought it was 14!). So encouraging to me to hear that bumps are occuring - i want to look pregnant instead of fat chubby Grin. This is number 2 for me, and I love how maternity clothes look! Am I nuts? For someone who normally likes to hide her belly, i love not having to worry about it :)

Oh, and creme eggs, don't get me started. They are the only thing making me feel better at the moment Confused I don't have full-on morning sickness, but constantly seem to feel hungry but not fancy anything that we've got in. So frustrating!

So ladies who have bumps, embrace it - it's outside proof that this is all real x

marimama · 15/01/2013 23:06

Mini-eggggsssss. Why have you all got those in shops already? In the states they don't appear until easter. Mmmm.

Just found out good friend is pregnant, too. Edd two weeks after me. Very happy news, but...Last time she was pregnant stayed svelte and duchessesque while i ballooooned. It will be like having my own personal DoC around. Maybe it will motivate me to be more cautious/sporty this time--though last time doctor said was my body just loving gaining weight, not so much my diet. Grrrr.

Anyway! :) enough grumbling. Hope everyone is feeling well this week--apart from cervix stuff and horrid pelvic pains. I got fiery sharp pains in pelvis last time. Not as debilitating as others' sound, but they sucked enough that i feel for you girls!

photographerlady · 16/01/2013 05:36

mari where in the states are you? My family lives in Central PA.

Morning all. What a busy day ahead. Work review and found out we are moving on the 16th of next month. Time to get cracking on switching GPs as soon as I have my leasing letter. I hope I can still get my 20 week scan. I move on my 18th week.

Cutandstick · 16/01/2013 07:19

abzs try reflexology, I had some a fortnight ago and definitely helped constipation within 48 hours - and still helping nearly 2 weeks later.

Cutandstick · 16/01/2013 10:35

Just had my MW app, heard the heart beat, and all is good. Here's the thing. Been told I have to see a consultant re asthma. Having a small scale break down now I am home that I'm going to end up with some medicalised consultant led birth with strict rules re pain relief. Anyone any experience of asthma and birth? Going to have a cup of tea and some chocolate to calm myself down.

dinkystinky · 16/01/2013 10:41

Cut - glad the MW appt went well. Dont worry about seeing the consultant - having consultant led care doesnt mean you will have a medicalised birth. Just go in prepared with a list of questions about the type of birth you would like if possible and how best to approach it. My friend had asthma and had consultant led care for both her births and they werent medicalised in the least.

Abzs - have you tried fibrogel? Or dates/prunes by the handful?

Marimama - my best friend is due (with her long awaited first) the month after me and she's tiny! Know how you feel. But the way I see it we all develop differently so no point getting jealous/upset about it.

Devil - hope the cats biopsy goes well today.

Special - hope you and your DS have got over the shock of the near miss. DS2 did something similar to me when I was on crutches last year after my knee op and couldnt really move very fast at all- I swear my heart stopped!

Guavasforbreakfast · 16/01/2013 10:54

Cut how severe is your athsma? I haven't given birth yet obviously, but I'm still on midwife led care as I assured MW at booking in that it was mild - by that I mean I've never been admitted to hospital for athsma-related issues and attacks are always managed using a reliever. Am supposed to use a daily preventer one but I tend to forget more often than not Blush.
She then agreed it was fine for me to give birth in midwife led unit still, and that you only need consultant care if it's moderate to severe.
Not sure if that helps at all, especially if yours is more severe than mine, but maybe have a chat with mw or consultant about your options?

elliejjtiny · 16/01/2013 11:48

devil so sorry about your cat.

Congratulations on all the good scans and the 2 gender announcements.

I've bought one of those belly belts so I can still wear my normal trousers unzipped and then get some really long tops a size or 2 bigger. Everything I like costs a fortune though grr. I've got some maternity stuff from DS1 and DS2 but I'm fatter this time Blush.

Not sure whether to find out the gender or not. We did with DS1 and DS3 but not with DS2. I'm swaying towards not finding out, mostly because the guessing of the gender seemed to distract my friends/family from asking "any twinges" every 5 mins Grin. But we've picked a boys name and a girls name already (no middle names yet) and knowing me I will fall in love with the name we don't get to use if we have to wait. Still, DH likes unusual names so I'm sure he'll be ok with calling our son Emily or our daughter Matthew Grin

elliejjtiny · 16/01/2013 11:53

Forgot to add cut I have asthma and was under consultant led care for all 3 of mine for various reasons. Never had a medicalised birth and never even saw a dr in labour, just midwives.

Persuasion · 16/01/2013 12:27

So, I had my midwife appointment, lovely strong heartbeat which is reassuring. But I'm a negative blood group so have to have anti D, which is a bit annoying. My midwife also said cervix pains are normal, to do with baby pressing on it and everything starting to stretch out. As long as no severe/persistent pain or bleeding no need to worry.

devil I'm glad there's a bit of a reprieve for your cat. Hopefully it will all be something minor and (s)he has had you worrying for nothing. I feel for you, I'd be in pieces if my cat was ill.

cut I don't think it means it will be all medicalised, I imagine it's more about the care of you and your asthma during pregnancy than birth itself. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know)

BB01 · 16/01/2013 14:25

Persuasion, I gave in to my pot noodle craving several weeks ago and haven't looked back - sometimes nothing else will hit that spot!!

Envious of all you with burgeoning bumps...mine is really non existent under clothes unless I wear something v tight (and have realised I own hardly anything tight!). I know lots of people like to hide theirs but I'm almost wanting to exaggerate mine to stop all the 'are you SURE you're pregnant?' comments!

BadMissM · 16/01/2013 14:37

I look like I' much further on than I am, but I guess that's because I was fatcurvy to start off with. Plus even though this is my 2nd LO, this is my third pregnancy, so I guess my stomach muscles gave up long ago!

flyingsprocket · 16/01/2013 16:23

Had my Nuchal scan this morning all looks well with the little one (that's 3 scans in 6 days!!) My bleeding got heavier yesterday with a few clots so it's reassuring that all is ok with the baby. But still something's not right. I've been admitted to hospital overnight for observation, I've seen a registrar who couldn't see my cervix because of the blood. I'll see a consultant in the morning. Just as well I'm a bit strange & quite like hospitals!

Also envious of your bumps. I'm still only at the getting bloated after food stage.

BooStar · 16/01/2013 17:10

Absz have you tried lactulose? It worked amazingly when I had the same prob after giving birth. I've just checked the label & it says use with caution in first 3 months of pregnancy but it fine after that.

I had my booking in today - I have the same midwife that I had with DS. All went well but when she asked me how my labour went I got really upset trying to talk about it. I thought I'd dealt with it but obviously not. She's referred me to a consultant midwife to talk through my options (I've said I want an elective c-section if I have to be induced again) and also to afterbirth counselling. Has anyone else done this? Did it help?

OhGood · 16/01/2013 18:47

devil and others not finding out the sex - but how are you going to start gender stereotyping in the womb?? Grin actually with DD I was so glad I did ask, because I had convinced myself she was a boy and I think I would have been shocked when she came out a she - also hated being pregnant and knowing helped me get my head around it.

This time round I was not so desperate to find out and could have gone either way really. But it was something to hang on to when we were so worried.

devile so sorry about your cat - I would be in pieces too.

marimara oh GOD I am nowhere near svelte and 'duchessesque' either (love it, voted phrase of the thread?) I am sooo trying not to eat constantly - and making huge salads and these filthy healthy soups, but caaaaarrrrbs is all I want. And today a steak the size of my face would be good too.

flying how are you coping? Thinking of you loads.
