Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
whimsicalname · 04/01/2013 13:18

Ooh, I'm having my hair cut today too tock. We will be such stylish new mums!

TheLittleFriend · 04/01/2013 13:30

Very jealous of the haircuts, mine looks awful at the moment. I've grown out my bob as I thought I wanted it longer, but now it's got no style to it, so I just put it up everyday. The cost of a haircut suddenly seems extortionate though Hmm

clickingtock · 04/01/2013 15:13

Ooh who is diffed?! Sparks please spill the beanlets.

Whims, I feel ready for birth now the hair is under control. I've even put on a bit of makeup for the occasion - unheard of! Little, it's bobs all round here after growing from a short 60s job. But thinking not great for nappy changing as not q long enough to tie back, so you'll be at an advantage there.

Blush Sorry Frootz, I do have an overripe imagination /crap middle-aged memory

Lol at mini boo hedging his bets, Boo. We've had a bit of that here but I would say 75% predictions of a girl from DS. However, I'm not convinced myself and it could deffo go either way.

We've had some v late contenders re names so a bit befuddled. With DS we had his name securely lined up. Maybe that's why this baby refuses to be born!

GreenOlives · 04/01/2013 18:25

Tock we're having an issue with names too! Last time round we had a boys and girls name firmly decided upon but this time we have about 10 on each list with no firm favourites Confused I am hoping that one will suddenly jump out as being "the" name at some point! Smile How is everyone else doing on the name front?

NewYearNewBoo · 04/01/2013 18:35

Name nightmare!!! We had one of each last time, sorted very early on and we were really happy, now we have a list of only 2 or 3 for each and I'm not sure 'the one' is there :( there was a real contender for a dd name but then in town the other day there was a right little madame, clearly spoilt pfb little girl with that name :(:( I need help!

Withalittlesparkle · 04/01/2013 18:47

face is diffed!!!!!

boo what's on your list?

NewYearNewBoo · 04/01/2013 18:56

We have Amelia/Millie pfb's name Isla and Mia or Adam, Finlay, Ewan or Logan. I like the boys names more than the girls and there are 3/4 names so at least more choice than I thought.

Ps, don't tell anyone the names, I promised DH we would keep it to ourselves Grin

clickingtock · 04/01/2013 18:56

I think face joined just as I graduated. Anyway that's great news! ThanksThanksThanksThanks

Olives we are exactly the same as you - long lists for both but not q satisfied with them. I think we're more sorted for a girl but seem to have gone back to the drawing board for a boy. It's something to do with us having more than 1 DC is it?

Boo, you would never have a pfb so feel free to stick with your fave and don't be out off.

TheLittleFriend · 04/01/2013 19:00

They're all lovely names Boo, I particularly like Finley on your boy list.

Like others, we had two definite names picked last time, but haven't decided this time, despite knowing its a boy. He'll probably be Jude or Flynn though, Jude if I get my way Wink

whimsicalname · 04/01/2013 20:15

Aargh names! We will either end up with a girl with 6 names, or a boy we'll just have to call Boy. Come to think of it, Boy has a certain rakish ring to it. Phew. That's that sorted.

BartletForTeamGB · 04/01/2013 20:55

First names sorted here. My DH and his sisters all have 2 middle names so that's 3 names each, so lots of deciding. The girl's names are sorted, but not the boy's.

GreenOlives · 04/01/2013 21:35

You see bartlet you are organised - at least your baby will have a name when it arrives! Grin
Boo Really like your lists. Finn, Ewan and Isla are on our lists too! And DS would have been Amelie if he'd been a girl! Can't have Amelie/Amelia now as one of my best friends has called her DD it!
Like your choices too Little, and its only fair you get final say after carrying DS for 9 months!
Whims Boy is an inspired choice! I think you've done well not to use it before! ;-)
Tock Perhaps we need to see our new offspring before we'll "know" their name - people keep telling me stories about how they had to see their child first to see what they looked like and therefore decide on a name, Im a bit Hmm about that as I think newborns all look very similar and its only as they get older they gain real personalities IYKWIM? I can't be taking too long to decide because we're off on hols in May so babyOlives needs a birth cert then a passport asap!

whimsicalname · 04/01/2013 22:16

I did think I would call them Child A, Child B and Control for a while green. Maybe this one should be
Double blind random trial? Or if it's a girl, Anomalous Result. Actually auto text just tried to write Anomaly. Sounds like a girl's name to .me!

scarletfestivefingernail · 04/01/2013 22:31

Ooh I love a bit of name chat. Despite having used my favourite boys name and favourite girl's name I do still have a bit of wobble when I read all the lovely girl's names. DS has my favourite boy's name ever and I've never regretted using it. But sometimes when I look at DD...I don't know, I just wonder if I should have put a bit more thought into it. I loved it first time round but got to use my boys name and then when I was expecting her I couldn't really think of anything I liked more. Lara was a close contender but we decided against it because we'd only just thought of it Confused But since then I heard another lovely girls name. Sylvie. Anyway, she has her name now and I still like it. Those of you on FB will know what it is. I just wonder if it suits her I suppose. We don't use it that much, she's "baby girl" most of the time.

I really like Isla Boo and Jude Little

I keep checking in for the next arrival BTW. Any chance of one making an appearance over the weekend? Grin

NewYearNewBoo · 05/01/2013 08:46

Scarlet your dd has a beautiful name :) I'm fingers crossed for Tock sneezing this weekend, she did have a second show .............. brooking for you Tock

GreenOlives · 05/01/2013 08:53

Scarlet As you know I also think that our DSs name is the best boys name ever! And it suits him so well Smile I also really like your DDs name too - it is still a strong contender on our girls list!
Whims May have to add Anomaly onto my list - hope you don't mind? Wink Grin
Come on Tock give us a sneeze!!! Grin
Happy weekend ladies!!

clickingtock · 05/01/2013 08:54

Boy rocks but I won't steal it. Wink

Like all the names being discussed here. We Brookers have such great taste!

Got DP to discuss seriously for 10 mins last night Sad but we do seem to have resolved it so now we really are ready. Totally agree with - was it Little? - that newborns all have a rather similar look and there would be a lot of babies named Prune in this world if we followed that rule....

Scarlett, you will just have to have another DD. Thanks

All v quiet here, tinyTock seems far too comfy. Will have to get DP a-shaggin' whether he fancies it or not as he can be a bit of a panda bear on that front Blush but have had a couple of good nights' sleep so that's prob helpful. C'mon tt.

Whims, just over a week to go eh? Unless DC4 decides to put all your others to shame by turning up early!

NewYearNewBoo · 05/01/2013 09:15

Scarlet I should have said of course your ds have a beautiful name too :)

Come on tiny Tock we mummy wants to meet you properly Grin god luck getting Mr T helping with the eviction!

cakes82 · 05/01/2013 09:59

The names sound good Boo my DD is called one of your list. Dunno if its true but those of you who feel more strongly towards a particular gender of names or have more choices of names for one gender might be having a baby of that gender. I found and liked girls names more and had DD.

GenericDietCola · 05/01/2013 14:27

Love all the name chat! We had a last minute change of heart about our chosen girls' name, but as you know, we didn't need it. If it helps anyone, we originally liked Beatrice, then changed to Violet. Little, I love Jude as a boys name and it was on my list. In fact all the brooking babies have lovely names!

Come on TinyTock, time to come out!

Whim, exciting your induction is so soon too!

I sort of feel like we cheated in having DS so early - I should still have a week to go. But don't get me wrong - I am very glad he's here and he really is the cutest baby ever all other brooking babies excepting. Ooh, there he goes now, so I'd better get off the laptop and give him a cuddle!

Hope everyone is well, especially the imminent sneezers. Must check out the grad thread soon when I have time. I just hate posting using my phone!

NewYearNewBoo · 05/01/2013 20:19

Aaargh just told db a couple of the names (top contenders) he turned his nose up at them, and sil just looked at me blank like I was a gibbering mentalist Shock :(:(

Ooh, BFP in the air! Exciting!

Love the names talk. Weirdly I was more enthused with boys names this time, although obviously love DD2's. DH chose it though. He vetoed all of my suggestions but I thought they were lovely - Rosamund (Rosa), Dorothea (Dora), Iris... Yeah, ok, old lady names. But I like them!

For boys we had a nice 'normal' name, but I really wanted something fancier like Nathaniel, Barnaby, Benedict. Or Burn, like Burn Gorman, the actor. What an awesome name that would be!

NewYearNewBoo · 06/01/2013 08:56

Well it is the last time I will do it, hopefully the excitement of meeting the baby will make them forget how 'crap' it's name is (especially if it is a boy, it is having db's name as his middle name) I do love my boy name list too :) still not so settled by the girl names though.

clickingtock · 06/01/2013 09:20

Our DS - Rowan - was nearly a Logan too. Won't use it this time as sounds too similar. Gen we have a name a bit like yours for a DS2 but you'll be glad to hear not exactly the same. Wink We have more confidence about girls' names this time round...

Anyone wassailing today? I'm quite sad about taking deccies down. Hmm

How are all the snufflers? Thanks
