Bellaboo123 · 20/12/2012 20:42

Oooh exciting...call the hospital and they'll ask questions and based on answers they'll advise! Good luck!!!

gilsbubbles · 20/12/2012 20:52

Hi ladies, been offline since my little girl was born on saturday cause she was in intensive care. She came home with us this afternoon, delighted!!
I've now got the fun of getting get breastfeeding going rather than expressed bottles that shes gotten used to.
I've missed so many pages I'll never catch up so a big hello to all the new arrivals that I missed.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/12/2012 20:58

gils so pleased you're home Smile come join us in postnatal Wink

Nicnac78 · 20/12/2012 21:23

Congratulations pmgkt and ellie and gils

So had my growth scan this afternoon and baby is measuring with 6lb5 or 6lb15. However, foetal assessment weren't happy with amount of amniotic fluid so got second opinion. Had another scan by consultant who gave lower weight estimate but slightly higher amniotic fluid but also said placenta looks gritty and mature so baby growth velocity is a concern. As a result, they want to induce on Sunday, the day before edd.

Am feeling very shocked and although excited to meet baby, scared to death that baby will have some health issues or defect as a result. But surely, they would have known that and pre warned us wouldn't they?

Not as bothered about birth plan being scrapped as I thought I would be, obviously just want my lo out. Am off to read birth stories to find positive induction tales! Followed by ball bouncing to try and beat induction! Probably unlikely as had had no labour signs prior to today.

No hormonal today? Maybe things started moving?

MyDaydream · 20/12/2012 22:04

gils you must be so happy to be home, good luck with getting breastfeeding going.
nic sounds like they're doing it as a just incase, if there was anything they were seriously worried about I'd imagine they'd want baby out now rather than waiting to induce on Sunday. Fingers crossed for you.
My bump is all hard and really tender but baby has at least stopped trying to kick his way out of me and is back to much less painful stretches.

Hormonalhell · 20/12/2012 22:06

Alas I am here nicnac been walking all day to try and get things going....Hmm

Yes I think they would have told you if anything was wrong with baby, it's prob cos placenta not doing its job any more, try not to worry.

I have growth scan tomorrow too, so it's back to the hosp I go!! Smile

Hormonalhell · 20/12/2012 22:08

Ooooh exciting leobear sounds like its happening, let us know Smile

emilyeggs · 20/12/2012 22:12

Sorry ladies, haven't caught up yet as I'm too excited about my new iPad!!! I've been moaning so much about being bored that my DH just bought me one to keep me busy GrinGrin

Hormonalhell · 20/12/2012 22:19

mydaydream my bump is tender too, around pubic bone area, kills when he elbows me!!

MyDaydream · 20/12/2012 23:41

emily jealous of your iPad. I'm meant to be getting my mums if DP thinks it'll be a reasonable cost to get it fixed but she keeps forgetting to bring it over when she visits. DP has one but he's filled it with boring apps so I want my own.
hormonal mines all tender at the top where I get all the kicks and punches, the bottom is all squishy and not bump like at all.

Hormonalhell · 20/12/2012 23:46

Am getting a bit panicky as baby not moved much at all tonight and he normally very active in evenings. Been having sporadic tightenings for a couple of hours but just weird he not moving

MyDaydream · 21/12/2012 00:27

Can you call the labour ward for some advice/reassurance hormonal? Mine has started kicking back if I rub my bump, might get yours going if you team it with a cold drink.

ivanapoo · 21/12/2012 07:47

Our baby boy was born at 4am after 24 hours of contractions (and more than 90 minutes of pushing ending up with a bit of ventouse help as baby was starting to get a bit distressed)... am shaky and exhausted but totally in awe.

Given that the midwife couldn't even do a proper sweep 2 days ago it just goes to show things can change pretty quickly! I feel v sorry for my neighbours who had the joy of hearing me go from 0-6cm in just a few hours...

blackcurrants · 21/12/2012 07:51

congratulations ! it's nearly 3am here and contractions woke me about an hour ago , going to start timing them soon, then will contemplate waking DH. have had so many false alarms, but these feel very real. I hope this is it!
