emily this is dc2 for me - ds was a really bad labour, ending in an emcs, so this time I'm a vbac. The consultant I saw to agree to my water birth would quite like dd out early/close to due date, so they've recommended sweeps from 38 weeks. This should have been sweep 2.

Yeah - we've had sex for the last three nights (erm, slightly more than in the last month, I think!) ever since my sweep-that-did-nothing on Monday - and it's been really nice, actually. Not elegant, mood-music-and-flattering-angles sex (har har har) but cuddly and very loving and very good for emotional-crazy me! So all upsides, really.

DH is sleeping on a pull-out bed in the lounge, however, "because of the snoring. Sorry love. I just... it's really bad." That's something that didn't happen last pregnancy. Does mean I have the WHOLE bed to myself and my walls-of-pillows, though, which is [whisper] actually pretty nice!

blackcurrant I keep snoring too! Never been a snorer so it was a bit of a surprise (more for dh ) it seems to only be in the morning, or maybe he just doesn't hear me at night. Hope it stops after birth

Hi all, I'm another lurker coming out into the open. This thread is great as i feel i'm amoung kindred spirits.

DD1 was induced at 40+10 so i've been through the induction experience and I was hoping that my body knew what to do this time and would get it's act together earlier.

We've also been DTD in an effort to kick start labour. The last two times i've woken at 5am with terrible pre-labour cramps but they were chased away by a hot bath. Seeing that i'm towards the bottom of list perhaps it's a bit unreasonable for me to expect anything to happen anytime soon. Growth scans have confirmed this is a BIG baby so i'd really like him not to get too much bigger!

Buntys how dare she go into labour! My MW is on call the night before my sweep next week so has already pre warned me that she might cancel if she's up all night.
I'm giving up on the get it out now sex after last night, but I've told DP that if I've not gone into labour on Sunday I want extra spicy birthday enchiladas for dinner!

blackcurrants I've been in the spare room all month because I just can't get to sleep in our bedroom for some reason. I now have 6 normal pillows and my dream genii, it's amazing!

MIL has just said she's coming round later, I'm so tired I think I'm going to be snoozing on the sofa before she gets here. I miss coffee!

Ooh, I'm growing a big'un too, Silver - they thought over 9lb at a growth scan 3 weeks ago. DS1 was 9lb (and is still very big for his age) and so was I, actually, so I'm not TOO fussed, but this bump is pretty heavy to lug around, so I want it over with too! :)

For some insane reason, nicnac, I am blessed with a husband who finds me incredibly sexy when I'm pregnant. It's not always a blessing (I rarely feel sexy, for example!) but it does mean he can often be persuaded.... thank heavens, I think if I had to try any proper 'seductive' moves I'd get a cramp/fall over/ fall asleep/fart...

Hi everyone, marathon catch up! nic I was measuring small too but a growth scan showed all was good, I've not put on all that much weight and baby is lying fairly neatly so I think that's why my bump isn't that big.

well I'm now 6 days over my EDD and 18 past my LMP date and feeling ready for baby to make an appearance now!

Tried the sex, orgasms, curry, evening primrose oil, sweep and stretch (which wasn't v successful as cervix still fairly thick) but nothing yet except tiny amounts of what I think might be mucous plug.

Any other suggestions to try as part of Operation Get Baby Out?

They usually induce at +12 here which is Xmas day so I'm guessing they'll put it back to 27th or something if baby is still inside then... Anyone discussed this already with their doc? Feel quite depressed at thought of Xmas day being just DH and me (more on DH's behalf, I'm used to mooching round the house amusing myself now!), so really really hope little one comes out beforehand.

Nicnac and Blackcurrants. At 38 weeks i measured 41cm and the growth scan said 3.9kgs (8lbs 6) so not as big as yours yet Blackcurrants.

DD1 was 7lbs 3 and the doctor i saw at my last appointment says i can't use the awesome birth centre any more as the risk that the shoulders will get stuck is increased . I'm a bit scared about that prospect but i believe the risk is still pretty low overall.

Hi ladies we havent had any babies for a while some must be due soon.....im sending dh out to the cinema tonight in the hope my body will react to being alone by going into labour :) if not im seeing consultant in the morning and hoping delivery suite is quiet and they will induce me there and then.....she wanted to induce 2 weeks ago so should think she will be happy to fx

I'd love to break the baby drought but not holding out much hope..

Dh has come home bearing three chocolate oranges and announcing they've given him two days additional leave to take apart from pat leave, so Christmas hols start now!

Hopefully the baby drought should stop tomorrow as I have just had my last meal. I'm not allowed anything other than a few slips of water after midnight. Wish me luck!
