Has anyone else had gushing discharge or is it just me that's weird Grin

emilyeggs · 18/12/2012 11:03

Not gushing hormonal but more in the morning when I get up.

RudolphTheRedNosedGiraffe · 18/12/2012 11:20

Small gushes when I get up, but not enough to begin to soak a pad.

I'm tentatively wondering if something's happening here, had a bit of a show this morning and sporadic contractions since that hurt more than they have in the past, but still not actual labour... hoping it develops into something but I'm not convinced it will!

cherrypiew3 · 18/12/2012 11:40

Hormonal My friend has a similar thing happen to her they told her it was her hindwaters.

Giraffe FX things are starting to happen for you.

Thought things were happening during the night kept waking up with period type cramping but have got up this morning and nothing. Mw appointment today and was thinking of refusing another sweep had enough of them now and my bits are sore. Blush But then it would be nice to know if anything has changed since last time.

yuletopian99 · 18/12/2012 11:43

Nothing like that here. Crampy all.morning but just had first sweep and cervix is still quite far back apparently. She said it is soft however and baby now 3/5 engaged which is positive but makes me think this could go on for a week or more still. Next sweep booked in for Dec 24th so we really could be looking at Christmas day delivery! Feel stupidly and pointlessly upset by this,.i really wanted him before..

pmgkt · 18/12/2012 11:57

Eptopic heartbeat is where is misses a beat every now and then but she was just a bit concerned cos of how frequently it was. Going to do a trace rather than just a doppler listen and then see what she thinks.

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 18/12/2012 11:58

I've also had gushing discharge Xmas Blush. Oh the joys of late pregnancy!

I'm ridiculously excited for my sweep tomorrow, although now have a niggling suspicion I will infect be at the wedding we're due to attend on Saturday. Happy in one way, as they are very dear friends and I want to see them married, but also disappointed as I really want my baby now!

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 18/12/2012 11:59

Infect? in fact bloody hell, iPhone.

BuntysFestiveCollocks · 18/12/2012 12:00

Hope the trace shows all is well, pmgkt

blackcurrants · 18/12/2012 12:54

Hello everyone - I lurk but can never keep up so don't post - due on 22nd, this is DS2 (DS1 is 2 1/2) and I am SO glad you're all still here. I've lurked now and then and found people's birth stories really motivating AND lots of reassurance that there are plenty of folk still around! Xmas Grin

I had a sweep yesterday evening (am 4cm dilated, fgs!) and then we had sex and ... nothing. I've had about five really convincing false labours (woken at 3am with fast regular contractions that peter out around 10am) and am now just slowwwly trying to get my head around the fact that I may be giving birth over Christmas. ARGH!

I've noticed less pushy texts and emails this time around - perhaps it's first grandchild/first amongst friends to have DC who get them? Anyway it's lovely NOT to get them, so I do feel for those of you dealing with it all!

I was so convinced I was in labour yesterday (contractions 3 minutes apart!) that I kept DH home from work. He's gone in today and says everyone will be Hmm at him. Well how do you think I feel, matey?!

Wishing everyone established-labour vibes.

ellliebelle · 18/12/2012 14:11

blackcurrants isnt it annoying knowing you are dilated but not in active labour :( i ws 4-5 cm on sat and had a few painful braxton hicks since but nothing regular :( do feel i could be more dilated still now but not seeing anyone till thurs....hoping at least if im dilated things should be quick when they do kick off.

blackcurrants · 18/12/2012 14:26

That's my hope, Ellie - I never had any Braxton Hicks with my first, not even a twinge (he was induced at 40+4 because I had low fluid) and so this time around it's really taken me by surprise! If we've got to 4cm, though, at least those 'warm up contractions' that wake me in the night are bloody well doing something!

The MW said I was 4cm dilated 'but quite thick' so have been necking evening primrose oil (which is supposed to help with effacement) ever since then. Yesterday after hours of intermittent contractions I was basically weeping and desperate to be in labour, today after some more sleep and jaffa cakes I am just working on the 'at least it won't be too long a labour' angle and trying to stock up on rest!

pmgkt · 18/12/2012 14:32

Just had a trace and all is fine. So much for 10 movements a day. I had 161 in an hour!

blackcurrants · 18/12/2012 14:51

That's an active baby you've got there, pmgt !

2blessed · 18/12/2012 17:35

Thats good news pmgkt
Hi blackcurrants good to read your post as I was wondering if I could ask for a sweep at my mw appt on thursday even though i'll only be 39+4. So bored, I've said it before but I am just ready to meet my baby...

MyDaydream · 18/12/2012 17:43

Glad everything is fine pmgkt, very active baby you have there.
I was so convinced last week I wouldn't make the end of the week because I was having cramps and back pain, this week nothing! I do feel like my body is shutting down now though, I don't seem to be able to stay awake for more than a couple of hours at a time without shutting my eyes for 10 minutes in between. I come from a family who fully embraces the nap, but it's just getting silly now.

RudolphTheRedNosedGiraffe · 18/12/2012 18:51

Well it's still going on but hasn't really got any worse so far. Maybe a bit more painful but not more regular. It's interesting how this empty space at the top of my bump (where baby's dropped a bit) is amplifying all my stomach noises! Has anyone else found this?

itsMYNutella · 18/12/2012 20:29

FX for you giraffe hope it keeps going. The most I've had is back and period type pain. But MW came over yesterday and while she was examining me the bump was going hard... Which she had to tell me because I hadn't noticed Confused

Arghhhh message from little bro's better half... "Any sign yet" I'm not due for almost 10 days! I would be very happy if the bean made an exit/entrance.... I sent her a link to here she replied "ahh very good" won't mind if no-one else asks Xmas Smile

cherrypiew3 · 18/12/2012 21:01

Pmgkt good news on the trace.

Hi Blackcurrents

Seen mw today and induction is booked for saturday I am terrified and really did not want to go down this route, I had an awful induction with dd have been crying for most of the evening. On the upside by sunday I should finally get to meet my baby.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/12/2012 21:14

cherry I had an awful induction with dd (drip, CFM, forceps, no epidural) but this time had a great one three and a half hour labour with only gas and air Smile second one is much easier Grin

cherrypiew3 · 18/12/2012 21:22

Spotty I know it will more than likely be better my dd induction sounds very similar to your first induction labour was long ended in forceps and no epidural. I am just getting myself into state. I just can not helping thinking it is going to be the same.

blackcurrants · 18/12/2012 21:29

I understand how you feel, Cherry - the closer I get to my due date, the closer I get to thinking "oh god I'm going to go over and be induced again" - but I cherish the idea that a second time around I might only need a little something to get me started, and then I might be RIGHT there! Second time around might be much, much better.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/12/2012 21:47

It is blackcurrants Grin I could feel the head the whole time I was pushing (didn't fe it at all with dd) and he was out in less than 20 minutes. Also you don't have that feeling if being out of control so much and recovery is quicker.

(First timers I'm not trying to put you off Grin)

RudolphTheRedNosedGiraffe · 18/12/2012 21:50

I know how you feel Cherry at least in part, this is my first baby so I haven't got a previous experience to dread repeating, but everyone's been telling me how much better it is to avoid being induced so I really didn't want to be induced either. But there's still time for things to start happening naturally, and like others said it is quite likely to be better this time round.

ellliebelle · 18/12/2012 23:11

I also dread induction:( never had one and this is 3rd baby but the thought really terifies me i just want a nice relaxing home birth but can feel it slipping away :( pretty sure consultant will want to induce me asap when i see her on thurs and im feeling that down i feel ill be inclined to agree and then never have a homebirth :( i know as long as i have a healthy baby in the end the birth doesnt really matter that much its must so far from what i imagined :(
