Congratulations Willyou

Stacks hope you managed to get a sweep and it kicks things off for you.

Pmgkt 2 more days not long to go now.

Well 40+7 today and feeling this is never going to happen. I am also fed up with people asking me stupid questions when it is perfectly obvious I have not had the baby. Even my mum rings every morning to ask if I am in labour which is stupid considering she would be the first to know she has to come and take care of the other dc.

emilyeggs · 17/12/2012 21:54

terry I tried that but couldn't feel anything.....don't know if it's because I couldn't reach or there was just nothing to reach......probably the later Blush

MyDaydream · 17/12/2012 22:14

terry I don't think I could reach my cervix if I tried to have a rummage! Bump and boobs are very much in the way.
Is there a calm before the storm? My bump seems squishier and I've had less back pain and cramping today. Maybe it's just baby thinking if he doesn't cause me any problems then I'll let him stay in there forever!

yuletopian99 · 17/12/2012 22:32

I'd like to think there's a storm to follow! After two days with major false labour stints today has been quite quiet apart from the backache since accupuncture..

Stacks · 18/12/2012 00:12

Failed sweep here today, cervix still too high for MW to reach. Got another booked for Thursday, plus scan (to check baby position) before induction on Saturday morning.

Bit disappointed, but such is life. Baby has been doing some serious moves this evening. Incredibly uncomfortable, and totally freaked out DH. Hopefully did something to cervix though.

I've been lucky on the texts from friends/family. PIL was checking up with texts multiple times a day, but I just added him on the iPhone 'find friends' app, so he can spy on my location 24/7 and know I'm not at the hospital. At least I get some peace :)

Good morning ladies! Thought I'd fill you in on my birth story, was hiking to wait until home but who knows when that will be?

I came in at 8:30 on sat for induction but due to an emergency patient didn't even get monitored til 12pm - I was contracting every 5 mins already and was 1cm dilated. They popped the pessary in at 3pm and the contractions ramped up to every 3mins and v intense. Had bath and codeine and DP got sent home. At 2am midwife came and gave an evil sweep (really bad) was 2cm. All contractions stopped so did 25 laps of maternity ward!

Woke at 4am to loud pop as waters went, contracting every 1.5 mins took 4 h to get to 4cm by which point I was crawling on the floor in agony! Went to labour ward and had shitloads of gas and air and pethidine. Was 9cm by 2pm and pushed from 3-4pm. Got him out pronto when they went to do an episiotomy! Immediate Sunday dinner and apple crumble followed by a shower.

Jamie's an absolute star, sleepy and quiet. Very placid famous last words only thing is he's too lazy to eat! He also hadms a tongue tue and I have no colostrum so we've started bottle feeding tonight. His sugars are perfect so hopefully we can go home when he agrees to eat!

Good luck to everyone still waiting, hope you get your deliveries in time for Christmas! Thanks my advice is take all the drugs you need and swear as much as you want! Xmas Grin there's no prizes for being a martyr!

Trying to upload photo if can on phone

Hormonalhell · 18/12/2012 02:16

JoJoB77 · 18/12/2012 07:40

Congratulations willyule and good luck hormonal!

Well i'm in so much pain but not from baby, i must have really bruised my bum bone (coccyx?) yesterday when falling. I can barely walk and sitting down is just too painful Sad. I could do with this healing before i push this baby out.

Not many of us left now!

MyDaydream · 18/12/2012 08:36

willyule take all the drugs is my mums labour advice too!
Good luck hormonal, hope you feel better soon jojo.

Hormonalhell · 18/12/2012 08:43

Well I'm in hospital and apparently the two gushes I experienced and the pad that was full of water (not urine) as midwife saw, is not my waters Hmm

I'm in because my blood pressure high and they think it might be starting with pre eclampsia so waiting for results.

Pains slowed down and just crampy now but had some blood so FX I'm not going home without baby Smile

Hormonalhell · 18/12/2012 08:49

Just read your birth story willyule you did really well by sounds of it!! Hope little Jamie gets guzzling soon!!! Smile

I'm also 1cm dilated, MW had a good poke around which was painful and I been sore ever since!

Terrywoganstrousers · 18/12/2012 09:03

Hormonal- what are they saying it is then?Shock

Cookiesandcoffee · 18/12/2012 09:45

Congratulations willyule Thanks
Thinking of you hormonal what was it then if it wasn't your actual waters have they said?

Walnut8 · 18/12/2012 09:53

jojo I hope it heals up soon, that's awful.

what on earth was the gush hormonal? Just crazy discharge? Hope it's going well, whatever's happening!

leobear · 18/12/2012 09:55

congratulations willyule and well done!

hormonal - not sure whether this is helpful or not blush, but with DD1 they told me my waters had not broken, and sent me home - turns out the hindwaters had gone, and I should have been kept in for monitoring and possible antibiotic drip. Trust your instincts and stand your ground if you are ever feeling fobbed off. Having said that, hope you get well looked after, obviously - thinking of you.

My due date today and - nothing! Seeing midwife at noon.

pmgkt · 18/12/2012 10:00

Not long now but baby has decided to have an eptopic heartbeat which they want to monitor but I don't think they would do anything other than trace it.

Hormonalhell · 18/12/2012 10:58

Hi all, They said it was just discharge Hmm

Anyway I've had a show and emergency scan as thought my placenta was bleeding but if nothing starts may be inducing me tomorrow as I'm very uncomfortable and feeling unwell but getting scared but excited too Confused

Hope everyone else ok will have to catch up Smile

Hormonalhell · 18/12/2012 10:59

What's ectopic heartbeat pmgkt?
